Best/Worse/what did I learn today..chat with friends!
Ah......... I'm First!!
Hello To All !
Happy Birthday Dylan ! The LAST day of winter... how poetic ! He is a Spring Baby for sure LK !
Dianne - hope you and Santa Warren got to enjoy some good weather today....
Katie - Lobotomy ! TOO funny ! Agree with the others... discard Dana and only play with those who make you happy.....
Crissy - OMG... FIRE! Good thing you think on your toes...
Debbie - So glad you found Kitty but OMG those flashlights are SO HEAVY ! Can't imagine the pain....Lots of smoothies for you.... What does "PITA" Mean? Right when I think I've mastered those abbreviations... Hm....
Oh Betty - again you've given me a NEW INVENTION... saw those rock speakers for sale at the Garage sale saturday... here is how we make MILLIONS of $$$... "Rock Speaker Phones". Not only convenient for conversations on the phone in the garden... but make your neighbors think you're crazy when they see you talking to a rock... LOL
Have an almanac right here... I used to look at them... but need to read this one....
Of course you are right about confronting managers... but I have other plans (Mysterious smile and little giggle).
Jean - remember if you don't head to Thibodaux... come see me Saturday !
Some treats from the Backyard today:
Beautiful blooms, Mary!
Mary, P I T A.... Pain in The A&&
My lip is so sore, as is the tooth it hit. Been having some popcicles and ice cream to help with the swelling, along with tylenol.
This is what happens when you are vertically challenged, can't reach the latch for the garage and use the end of the flash light, reaching up, to flip it over....and it falls from 2 feet above your head!
DH made a PT appointment for tomorrow morning. For 7:15!!! It is an hour drive to get there, which means I have to be up at 5:30 the latest. Grrr!
SO, at that....going to wish Linda Kay another big Congrats!!! AND....waving to all, I am off to bed.
Sweet dreams
Debbie
OUCH, Debbie!!!
OMG Deb.... So sorry about that.... Hubs should hire a taxi so you can sleep in! LOL....
PITA - okay thank you ! LOL...
PICS!
FIrst image is Hibiscus "Smiley Face"
Second is the first Daffodil I ever planted... and replanted and replanted (SOMEONE - Belle?- was digging them up !)
Third is our first iris to bloom.. someone on the swap thread called this Japanese Roof Iris... not sure why...
Hugs,
Mary
Thankyou Susan !
That Hibby is gorgeous, I love daffs (and their tiny 2nd cousin which is.Jonquil) and apparently (according to Google) the Roof Iris was grown on Japanese roofs -
"It is grown on thatch roofs in Japan, hence its most common vernacular name. Some sources suggest that when space became too precious for anything but food crops, Japanese women - who used the powdered rhizomes as a face powder - began growing Iris tectorum on their thatch roofs. Other legends indicate it was used to ward off evil spirits; or perhaps it was for purely pragmatic reasons (to help hold the thatch together.) "
Morning all, real birds are chirping, almost time to head out..ahhh no photo to ohh and ahh? Know he's a handsome child so I'll do so anyway..bet LindaKay will be sleeping in this morning.
Debbie, looking at the clock, you are on the road again by nOw..hoping your lip isn't as painful today..am sure some will think you've been in a brawl. Glad Mary asked about Pita, didn't know what it meant..Sharon used it yesterday and thought its what she was going to have for lunch lol
Mary go for it and don.t turn back!! Love your pretties..if the weather keeps heating up soon we northerners will have pretties to post as well.
Rock phones, marvelous idea. Sound systems and solar lights look nice in the gardens so why not phones..how creative you are!
Looking at the time, still need to fold a load of wash, put garbage out and head out early, hungering for pancakes this morning..shall I get you some!
Morning all. Been up for ages but at least I have my fridge cleaned out.lol Stove is next on my list. Haven't asked my new cleaning lady ( who is a gem) to tackle those kinds of chores. I think once she is able to come once a week and becomes more familiar with our house she will do things like that.
Grandma Linda Kay Congratulations. Dylan is gorgeous. Hope everyone including daddy is doing well this morning. When will Heather and Dylan come home from the hospital?
BBL. Gorgeous day out there already.
Dianne
Dianne, now that you've done your refrigerator can you find time to do mine! Likely the only chore in the house I DO NOT like..often have science projects going. Cathy from time to time when dropping in to let the furries out throws them out..funny how certain chores we don't like to do.
Hmmm what is the least favorite thing in housecleaning does everyone not like to do?
Dianne, you will so enjoy the day today, suppose to be glorious sunshine!!!
Got to take out and decided on "M's" big breakfast, now where did my hankering for pancakes go at that minute.
Jean, look at the pretties, are they from now
Life is fragile
Handle with prayer!
I am back home safely. Betty, did something happen that caused you to use that term?
Was on the road at 5:55, put gas in the car and up to PT in Rochester. DH wasn't even in there for 20 minutes! Waste of my sleep. However, he made up for it. We went to Cracker Barrel up in Rochester after PT....were your ears ringing as I was talking about you! Lots of pretties you would have liked for the garden. Anyway, went in to wash hands and looked in the mirror and scared myself. Don't know if the puprle shirt I am wearing makes it look worse or what...but my lip looks nasty...and it does look like someone belted me one!
Jean & Mary, LOVE those flower shots....very pretty! I have crocus blooming and my Daffs are about ready to open.
Be back in a bit
Debbie
No Debbie, read it on church bulletin this morning and thought it ws a nice saying!
They will be looking at Paul with the evil eye thinking that Paul's the one who did it to you..lol
Ahhh, that's ok, a week Friday I'll be on your side of the border, will make sure I go to CrackerBarrel Sunday morning before heading home...please tell, what is it you saw that you though, aha, Betty would buy that if she were here?? Hints please..
Called Zellers in Midland, they have the settee I want, $100 off, then the footstool is $129. with $30.00 off so when all is said if I bought before Thursday I'd end up with footstool for free.
Called Greg and he said he was working late but if I paid for it he would try to pick it up tonight or tomorrow night..HE JUST CAN'T understand why I would need another place to sit..kids just don't understand do they? let's see, patio set on front deck (2 chairs), metal patio set on back bedroom deck (2 chairs) side lawn (2 muskoka chairs) front lawn (1)muskoka chair set) upper garden (2 muskoka chairs & footstools) gazebo (settee and double chair set-sits (5) , (3) loungers near pond, hidden secret garden (4 chairs) patio (4 chairs), back grounds (2) wooden lounge chairs, mid garden (1 metal bench) furthest garden (wood bench) ahhh and secondary patio near back shed (4 chairs/table) now settee set, sits (4) and lower garden (2) not to count the 3 table and 4 chair sets that are under the deck storage should I have a party.. so easily sit 60 at any time, now how could Greg even think I wouldn't need another set??? strange
yes, strange that he doesn't realize we would ALL come to visit you for a RU, right? And each of us would have our own area to pretend that this garden & home is Ours lol
Betty!!! Betty!! Betty!!
Thanks for the new room for a VIP!!! Hehehee.. talking of course.. Dylan Marley Grunow!!!
See me jumping up and down, excited to bring these pictures over to help LK, whose friend's connection is tortoise slow...
LK also wrote:
"He has a big bruise on his forehead, from delivery, he has a big head, and Dr. said it is normal sometimes for them to be bruised. Probably from her pelvis that did not want to spread. Everyone is doing fine, he is a very quiet baby so far."
This
Jaye, how wonderful for you to bring the photo's and news of Dylan, Heather and family!
Oh my, we always think of how much it takes from the mom to give birth but imagine being the one being born is no picnic either.
I cannot remember the last time I held a baby, likely mine! They terrify me..give me them when they hit 3 and up though and watch me love them up..guess because I was raised with elders and no children around.
Its summer out there..
Are you all out enjoying?
I'm inside, trying to figure out my i-pod
emailed my pastor - hope he'll talk to me - we really have to talk............
he likely won't be in the office until tomorrow now, so I'll have to "bite the bullet" and talk to him then. He really doesn't know me............ we'll see if he wants to. As he's my pastor, I think he should be asking me how I am..... and it's not good.
Betty, give me a child at any age!!! Lol.. maybe that's why I'm tolerant of Kel!!
It's been ages since I held a newborn too. I tend to stay away from them, since I'm so scared to pass any germs.
Jaye, coughed up my pop on the 'child/Kel' you know you love him to bits and you wouldn't have it any other way! You haven't been well lately, do you think the warmer weather will help seeing as you can get into the gardens?
Susan, is this the same Pastor you've been working with at the church?? why are you fretting about speaking with him..just days ago he was telling you what a fabulous job you've been doing?
Betty.... come on now. Boys never grow up right? (No personal insult to any MEN here)
I'm on the mend, this time, I'm not as depress as I used to be whenever my physical health takes a temporary nosedive!! Been doctoring myself with natural vits and minerals, maybe that will help.
As for the gardens. Betty, so many of my plants perished last year. Guess God will only give me what I can handle, as LK reminds me.
Still I had succumbed to temptation and got me 3 ice plants!!
(((Susan)))
Apparently he's saying one thing publicly, but in private, or (and his face is an open book - when he isn't happy with you, you know it - I've heard what he's said about others...... and it's not nice) when he thinks you are the only one to "get it" he makes comments that hurt.
Right now I'm hurting for this and other reasons (with Bob & I not working, my feelings are tender and I thought he'd recognize that), and other members of the church are "stepping up" to help Bob & I, but our pastor has never called me into his office or at home to see how I'm doing. If I don't initiate the conversation, he doesn't talk to me except to be civil.
I'm at odds with myself, I don't need someone here making snide remarks to me. Last night, when I was at a discussion video that he puts on every Mon night, I spoke about my next "children's time" at service. I'd made a mistake at the last one, and he pointed it out during the service (2 weeks ago) and last night he brought it up again. I said "I guess I'm never going to live that one down - he and others were laughing about it and I'm a little sensitive about it right now.
Maybe some of this is my fault as I've not been approaching him, but I'm not the type to go whining all the time. Usually, the more I hurt, the more I shut myself off. I've been crying off and on last night and today - I emailed him so we could talk and clear the air...............
STAY YOUNG MY FRIENDS
We all need to read this one over and over until it becomes part of
who we are!
HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Try everything twice.
On one woman's tombstone she said she wanted this epitaph:
"Tried everything twice. Loved it both times!"
2. Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down.
(Keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches!)
3. Keep learning:
Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever...
Never let the brain get idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.'
And the devil's name is Alzheimer's!
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud.
Laugh until you gasp for breath.
And if you have a friend who makes you laugh,
spend lots and lots of time with HIM/HER.
6.. The tears happen:
Endure, grieve, and move on.
The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves.
LIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love:
Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever...
Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health:
If it is good, preserve it.
If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips..
Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county,
to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
I love you, my special friend.
11. Forgive now those who made you cry. You might not get a second chance..
But do share this with someone.
Remember! Lost time can never be found.
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of
battle.
Wine does not make you FAT .....
- it makes you LEAN ....
(Against tables, chairs, floors, walls and ugly people.)
Have a great day!
Hello To All ;
Susan (BIG HUGS)... yes you need to vent with him... and if not with him then someone first then with him. he should be more available to you... even if you didn't do the tons of volunteer work for the church....
Betty - I've never really been a "Baby person"... I'm the one that looks not touch but I'm trying to get better as I get older... think it was from being a "single mom" from day 1 with DS and no help at all (my mom lived 300 miles away)
Deb - will have to look up Crocus... I've heard of them and can't place. Hope that lip gets better soon ... is it true a Steak helps? (maybe eating the steak !)... Too Too funny understood you to say "use that term BETTY" meaning PITA... and then Betty replies... "from Church bulletin".... Can't wait to figure that one out....
Betty - Of course you will need MORE Than 60 seats... when you win the lottery and we all fly up to visit ! What can Greg be thinking? ?? Hm... least fav house chore. I don't mind most once I put my mind to it...and the OCD kicks in... but I suppose it's cleaning the bathroom. My 'fav' would be laundry... I suppose....
Jean - be careful BAD weather on it's way....
Thanks Susan for looking up Japanese roof iris... VERY interesting !
Missing all our folks !
HUGS<
Mary
Forgot to answer that. Least favorite household chore. I hate washing & putting away silverware. I don't know why, just hate it.
I would rather clean the bathroom!
Omg, I thought Debbie asked about
Life is fragile,
Handle with prayer!
Too funny, do you think she meant Pita? Lol
Debbie, how is the lip doing? You are just an accident waiting to happen, hard on yourself.
Yep Mary, miss the gang as well. Are they calling for storms in your area?
Yawning,
Ann came over for bingo but she really wasn't well. No, didnt win..hoped I would seeing as I spluged and bought the set for the verandah that I had been eyeing.. Greg was fabricating something for his bike at the shop tonight, said if done before 9pm he would pick it up, if not then tomorrow..already 9:30pm so guess I won't wait up, off to bed I go..headache city.
Yes - HUGE T-storms tomorrow.... May have to build an ark to get to work......
Okay - Calling all out !
Suse - WHAT are you reading and How is Mose?
Shirley - what have you been up to.... new job?
Bev - "ordered" a new daylily from the 4/28 swap.... got any pics for us ?
Judy and Thunder - ya'll gals check in with us? Hope you are able to....
Bev? Thea? ETC !
Next person... pick up where I left off ? I know there are several more of our "lurkers".... please come play !
Hugs,
Mary
Betty, I was the one that said PITA and put the definition....definately wasn't referrring to you today. LOL It could change if you don't take care of yourself.
I was asking about the Life is fragile, Handle with prayer
Did you take your blood pressure meds with the headache back like that? Time for a recheck tomorrow perhaps of the pressure.
My lip and my eyes are both still a problem. Go back to eye doctor Thursday and am looking foward to it. Can't even sit and read and antibiotics dont seem to be doing much.
I am exhausted, think I am heading to bed.
Sweet dreams...
Debbie
Just got an email reply from my pastor - said to come in anytime, 9am - 1pm
Sweet Dreams Deb !
Susan - hope that all gets resolved and that he treats you well as you deserve to be ! (HUGS)
ouch, Debbie - that looks cut inside?!?!
Thanks Mary - this "feeling miserable" has been going on for months, and I'm feeling worse about it as well as our personal situation, so really want to feel better and not so "sad" all the time.
On the bad side - I need to get myself out of the house..... I have to go to the postoffice and I'm not going as I should....
One bright spot - I really enjoy spending the day with my DH
oh my goodness Debbie take care,
Linda Kay, finally! congratulations
Morning all, restless night, head not the best so staying home..feeling bit guilty as well seeing as its going to be one hot day!!
Wowzers Debbie, bet it pains when you talk/eat...sore for sure! You sure havent had the best of weeks..let's hope Thursday brings answers and meds that take away the pain.. and Paul, any improvement and can he get around? Would be difficult being chauffeur if your eyesight isn't showing signs of improvement...
Liz, you are up early considering time of day in California..are you on early shift or are you home for the day ready to enjoy a sunshine day. How is Kenny's new project coming along?
Jaye, sometimes natural meds are the answer. Difficult though as you have so many health issues that fight one against the other. Your MIL must be behaving as I sense a calmness in your life lol. Let's hope you gardens surprise you. I dropped into the nursery yesterday, ohh and ahhh'd, so much I want lol. Did but a new lilac tree though, flowers will be yellow to off white, already in bud,,area I want to plant is very rocky, think I will need help in digging the hole!
Susan, glad you finally have an appointment with your Pastor. let's hope you both can work things out.
Mary, between computer problems and illness/depression we can but offer prayers to our friends here..perhaps now that spring has arrived sunshine will fill their lives.
should get dressed, might wash a few things on back deck, put cafe aside till I have someone here to relocate and that will fill my day at home.

Good morning,
Yes, it is cut inside in a large "V" shape. There is brusing on my gum over tooth also. Although it feels better today...it looks worse. Purple is my favorite color!
Susan, perhaps it will be good to go and have a chat, and see if that helps you. Just remember, you don't know what other people are hitting him with that isn't in the open also. I know our Pastor has so much to deal with, and honestly it breaks my heart. People just walk all over him....including my MIL who has been a member of that church since early 1970's and thinks she owns it. Demanding and very vocal....as are a few of the other elders. AND always threatening to withhold their help and sponsorship if they don't get their way. NOT very Christian at all.....so just take into account, you don't know what he is dealing with others.
I am just now having my coffee....so going to sit for a bit and wake up.
Debbie
hi betty, no im early today lol, oh kennys project....
he got a catalog where he can find any part for this truck so he is comparing their price to the junk yard omg just buy the peice and stop trying to save a nickle ahhhhh!
men!
Liz, Kenny and my DH would get along so well. He is currently bartering over a used radiator he "sold" the junk yard, but ended up trading this piece for that piece...and well...like you, just do it! lol
oh ya! we have two trucks and he wants to make one from 2
1st truck has been sitting in front of the house for a year it can be driven but its not,
the second one does not run he wants to throw some gasoline down the throttle to see if it will fire up, if it does then he is going to start moving parts .
so my guesstimate is maybe in 2014 this may be complete omg! i dont say a word just shake my head.
