Glad Patches is healing so well!
Hope it's nothing serious Jen. Poor Riley!!
Hope everything turns out ok.
Cyrus has a slight limp right now, he's lame but this will eventually go away. I have one too from sleeping part time on the floor with him when he had the sling on. Not sure my limp will go away. LOL

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

awww you slept on the floor with him???

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yes....part of the night. It was one of those deals where he whimpered and I was on the floor with him. :)

East Bridgewater, MA

Awww, such a good mommy...above and beyond the call of duty.

Thomaston, CT

Lucky Cyrus! Hope Riley is doing better today, & happy that Patches is OK....Suey is going to the vet's today for her shots & a look at the cyst.....

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Good luck Suey.

The things we do for our animals, Your a good mom Celeste!

We are discussing a puppy...a friends friend's dog had an accidental litter of Merle Danes, she only wants vet cost for them. They are in WV so it would be about a 7 hour drive one way for us...thinking real hard about it.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Awww, Allison, hope little Riley is OK! Glad to hear that Cyrus and Patches are coming along after their ordeals! Now we just have to buy Celeste an air mattress for the floor with a SuperMom insignia on it. Jen, how is Wall-E doing today? Hope he's acting back to normal.

Ronnie, that's a long way, but it's only one time, and think how nice it would be for you all!

Marilyn - good luck with Suey's vet visit! Hope it's not as much of an ordeal as it was for Patches!

Thomaston, CT

Oh, I can see those babes now! If you look, you will be holding one in the car!! Suey did fine...her cyst isn't a problem yet, & all tests were good....

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, everyone, and Patches says thanks, too!

Glad that visit to the vet with Suey went well, Marilyn.

Allison, how is Riley? Heard anything yet?

Cyrus is spoiled for sure!

Jen, that's odd about Wall-E, but it's good he's eating, at least.

Ronnie, I know you want one. Go for it! Post pics if you have any, or a link to some.

Awwww, so glad Riley is well. I don't blame you for ordering the soft collar. So much better than the cone.

Whewww...glad Riley is OK!!

Durhamville, NY(Zone 5b)

I'm glad that everyones furkids are healing. After getting flea treatment for bear and steroids he stopped scratching and his bald patch is growing back in. I've cut the steroids down a lot be cause he was turning into a serious chow hound. He's had a lot of raw summer squash and semi-cooked frozen beans this week. I had a reaction to one of the blood pressure meds I'm on and have had to take steroids also, so I can relate to being hungry. I've also started to give hime omega 3 oil capsules. It's making a difference in his dry skin.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Sounds good, Doug. I may try that fish oil with Jerry. He's had a lot of dry skin and has lots of dander.

Did anybody see where Scott Janssen gave his dog Marshall CPR when Marshall collapsed during the Iditarod? The dog is doing fine.

WoW! That's pretty cool, something I think all of us here would do if need be.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I know I would.. Hope is cracking me up the past few days.. after Eros left she has no one to play with

Doug, glad Bear is coming along, & Riley looks very good....Hope is too funny....my vet told me yesterday he has a 5 pound yorkie, who was chasing a 5 pound rat! And she would have fought it, if he hadn't had her on a leash.....very tough little dogs....

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh yeah.. usually not smart when it comes to a fight.. think they are dobermans

ooookkkkkk I figured out why Michele didn't want a soft cone for Riley.. for some reason she is afraid to take the one off and not be able to get the other on.. very wiggy about doing something like that... told her Randy or I will come over and do it.. guess it's good she didn't have to tube feed Hope

:)

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

A FIVE POUND RAT?!?!!!!!!!

Thomaston, CT

In Boston....

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I don't think rats ever get to 5 lbs., do they?

I heard about that dog in the Iditarod. Pretty cool. Dog was a veteran, I believe, having done it for about 6 years. Probably getting too old to keep up that pace.

Karen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You have obviously never been in the NYC subways!!!

Thomaston, CT

Or on the waterfront in Boston! I saw one near the Children's Museum that I thought was a muskrat, but no...just a rat....

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

This is the litter of pups we are eying up, I like the dark Merle♥

Nice pups.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

cute!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

ooohhhh boy... cute!!!

Durhamville, NY(Zone 5b)

Am I the only one that talks to their pets? Bear has been completely up my butt since I came home from work later than usual on Friday. This means that he follows me every step I take. I find my self talking to him like he was a kid. "You'll have to move", "You've got to wait until it cools or you just throw it up", NO I'm not letting you like that frying pan with the bacon grease in it." The last one was after about the third time he had dragged me to the kitchen to give me that "I haven't eaten in a month" look.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

All the time.....
"No running, walk please." newest one because of Cyrus
"Could you move please?"
"Little faster if you can stand it"
"No, I can't go lay down and take a nap with you now."
"Beef or chicken"

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh yes... but to get them to move I beep the horn "beep beep".. they know to move... I have one way conversations with them all the time .. and of course they look at me like I am nuts.. and it fits

:)

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Oh gosh I talk to mine all the time!
"Abby move please", why do I say please? LOL
"Do you want to eat now?" As if they don't...
"Harper, can you drool a bit less today"
Full conversations at times...I explained to Harper a full blown story like she was a child as to why Atticus was no longer here...I swear they understand...

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I'm careful with the "PLEASE" word, when they want a chewy/bone they all have to sit....at the same time. Then I will ask each one by NAME to say please. They bark once...not out of turns! ^_^

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I talk to my cats all the time. Salem often meows back.

Durhamville, NY(Zone 5b)

I know he nows actual words and not just tone of voice. If I said "Do you want to go for a ride" he's be to the door in a shot, even if I was typing when I said it.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Know what you mean, Doug. We can whisper "do you want to go for a walk " to each other, even spell it, and he comes hurtling down the stairs (he's often guarding his teenage mistress' door).

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Oh yeah. Whole conversations. No one is surprised by that, are they? LOL!

Thomaston, CT

Suey understands it all....I talk to her constantly, & yes, Allison, I say Beep, Beep to get her to back up! She likes to take an old bone to chew on while in the car...but if she tries to take it outside, I just say to her, No bones, drop it, & she does immediately.... If I have something I don't want to give her, I tell her it's chocolate, and she walks away! Of course, Robin barked at me all the time, he was very talkative! Ronnie, that pup is too cute....go for it!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

not sure if Randy would kill me.. but if CSI Vegas comes on TV.. Randy sings it badly.. and Hope attacks him and cries to get him to stop it.. will have to tape him someday... even if I am alone and the song comes on.. she will just attack me

and Wily knows the jingles to commercials with animals in them.. he barks at any animal either real or cartoon.. no matter which.. if he hears the jingle he will come running and bark at the TV.. at Michele's he runs into the bedroom behind the wall with the TV to try and get the animal out of his house.. so no animal planet when he is around.. had to change abc channel with the sat morning animal shows as well.. and he gets everyone else going.. even though they have no idea what he is barking at

Thomaston, CT

Smart!
