Things that make you go "hmmmm" or Say what???!!!! Pt 3

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yes about same distance(for me to Colts Neck to where this bakery is in Mt Laurel) but south instead of northeast

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

jen - is it crust - less or is the bakery making a special rice crust?

we have a wonderful - wonderful restaurant called glasshalffull and majority of menu is gluten free - wow. Also a lady at farmers market with child who has celiac dz AND a rice allergy AND dairy allergy (WOW THAT IS HARD) makes GF foods and sells and has branched out to complete dinners with a preorder - you just pick up on the farmers market day.

if you have a Fresh Market supermarket - you will be pleased to see how many GF items are on the shelves ---downside...... mixed in and no one section.

we had a restaurant owner get charged with something (endangerment or similar ) for advertising GF when not meeting the standards.

In Speedos?

I am talking real tuna fish. What the heck is Speedos?

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

bathing suit for guys

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Don't know haven't been there yet... grocery stores near me have the gf in a separate aisle

Technically Speedo is a brand of swimwear but when someone says "speedos" they usually mean the tiny suits that men swimmers wear

dont care about that then :-)

East Bridgewater, MA

"Speedos" also carries a social implication: the person wearing it is usually European (or emulates to be so), and is not modest in showing "a lot."

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Speedo
A guy in Speedos must be looked at with one eye completely shut and the other just cracked open a wee bit. Definitely an acquired taste and not for the faint of heart.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

'Cracked open a wee bit' pretty much sums up the look as well...

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Victor, I considered saying the very same thing, but I KNEW you would jump on it in a NY minute!

Thomaston, CT

Still have visions of our neighbor in a Speedo.....& he was about 350 lbs!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

How horrible. Would have a very difficult time restraining myself if it was me.

Just terrible! how much more do with have to put up from these people?

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

I saw a large gal pulling a wee toddler along the floor at walmart. She was screaming bloody murder (the toddler). Mom was ~ 4 1/2 feet tall and about as wide. She had on a halter top and a mini skirt that barely covered the hinterlands. No kidding! A tattoo snaked up the leg only to disappear also into the land of untold delights. The Kid threw herself on ground and mom bent completely from the waist and ...and ...and ......well let's say her butt had just about consumed that scrap of a thong. Hubby (I assume) was clearly bedazzled by his woman. There are fashions that for sure make me go hmmmmmm

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Sounds like a photo for that people of Walmart website....I swear I don't think some people own a mirror

I was at the convienience store sitting in the car. Along comes 2 guys. 1 in his 40's and a teen 16 or so. The teen was walking a puppy, I say around 8 weeks old. It was the hot humid spell. Next I see him pulling the puppy as the puppy went down on the ground and he just kept pulling his body on the sidewalk. Next I see him pull the puppy up by the neck on the leash.

I almost got out and said how would you like to be hung by a rope on your neck, like that. Bit my tounge.

Thomaston, CT

I would have called 911.......

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

I wish my finger had a zapper in it.......just point and z ..a ...p...... gone!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

What is wrong with people?

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I would have called 911 too. Did it a few years ago when I saw a guy hitting a kid in a car, reported the licence plate #...hope something came of it...made me sick to my stomach but there was not much else I could do, I was by myself and was afraid to approach him, probably would have hit me too or hit the child more.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Glad I am not a gun owner. Not confident I could restrain myself in situations like that.

Thomaston, CT

Yes, that's how I feel! Always the helpless that are abused.....

I was alone. I normally dont have a problem being quite "vocal". 2 men and kind of "skanky" looking. I dont own a cell phone. It was called being besides yourself.

Thomaston, CT

True....there's only so much you can do in that situation....

Just got back from shopping. The lady in front of me - Few groceries, 10 boxes Nutty Bars, 10 Boxes Zebra Bars & 10 Boxes of Creamy Crunchy Bars.

Last to be put on the conveyor - Weight Watchers Magazine.

Had all I could, not to bust out laughing.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!
ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a funny look on my face, thats for sure.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Can't even blame it on a day care business. Most don't offer those kinds of snacks

Thomaston, CT

Maybe she found a new diet...only candy bars...ack...would get sick of that in half a day!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Early Halloween shopping??

Maybe she is waiting for some health insurane? She was over weight.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Maybe it was a candid camera thing and now they got your expression!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Heehee. I can imagine.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Ok here is my hmmmmm for a hot monday.

Reading the paper today : GSK (glaxo, smith, kline) is fined 3 BILLION dollars. Hiding safety info, introducing drugs for purposes not approve, etc. . Also several years of penalties imposed involving how the company pays its agents and leadership.........

The last line of the article........

GSK stocks rose by 1.3% today.

Thomaston, CT

Go figure!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Market must have been expecting a 5 billion dollar fine.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)
