Will a grafted apple tree self polinate?

East Hampton, United States

I just bought 4 trees from home depot. Had no clue what I was getting myself into in respects of pollination but I THINK I am ok.

I bought a 4 way combo apple tree with grafts of braeburn, gala, honey crisp and the last one is escaping my memory at the moment. Will this tree self polinate due to its varieties? Or do I have to purchase another apple tree?

And if someone could confirm that my other trees are self-fertile trees that would be great.
Other trees:
Dwarf Bartlett pear -
Dwarf Sweet Cherry Stella-
Dwarf Peach Redhaven-

I read that they all do self pollinate somewhat. Im not looking for a large yeild so as long as they produce SOME fruit I will be happy.

Also one last question :-) The trees 4.5- 5.5 ft. Will they produce fruit this year? (I have no clue on how to tell their age, I did read that it takes 2-3 years for dwarfs to bear fruit).

Thanks you so much!

Kapri,

Tech term is 'needs cross pollination'. 'Self-pollination' is the other.

Your apple tree should be fine with 4 different grafts.
The Stella cherry is self-fruitful.
Most peaches are self pollinating, but, you usually get more fruit if you have two different varities.
Bartlett pear - Pears require two different varieties for proper pollination. You should still get some fruit.

Apples and pears are close relatives, that may help as the bees go from tree to tree.
