Everything sounds great!! Leftovers tonight
What's for dinner?
We went out last night and had lobster ravioli apps, soup, salad, I had crab stuffed shrimp, filet mignon, DH had lobster tail, filet mignon, both were served with mashed potatoes and asparagus, then he had red velvet cake and I had choc raspberry torte.
All was very good.
I'm stag tonight DH took his brother out for his BD...I had pasta salad with tuna and am trying a new banana bread recipe, it's baking now and smells yummy!
Deb, that sounds soooo good! I never order dessert when out, to full to eat any.
Love banana bread!
I usually don't get dessert or appetizers, but this was a Valentine special that included both.
DH found a great recipe for red velvet cookies.
I remember the Red Velvet cakes when I was a kid...they are making a comeback!
the cookies use a red velvet cake mix.
I didn't even know they made such a cake mix....not much into cakes, but I do like Toll House cookies......
Meatloaf.
Hamburger Deluxe
pizza
baked chicken w/ cajun spices, rice medley and lima beans. Oh, and red velvet cookies for dessert.
my friend gave me her Mom's red velvet recipe .... it came out just as we remembered it.. she passed away a few years ago.. and I made it for there first Christmas without her.. and they didn't know it.. I just dropped it off.. brought tears to all there eyes.. her brother sent me a note how the flavor just brought his mom back and great memories.. and he thought he would never taste that flavor again.. how it meant so much to the whole family..
we had ham steak and potatoes last night
That was very sweet of you, Allison.
Not sure what is for dinner. We'll either go out tonight or for breakfast tomorrow. Depends on whether DGS has riding lessons this afternoon or not. It's his turn to spend the night.
That was so sweet, Allison.....
Definitely Allison!
figured I would wait a few years and surprise them again
Really nice of you! My friend was drooling over the red velvet whoopie pies a few people were selling today at the flower show
pizza tonight.
Toaster waffles for breakfast. Hahaha! Going to balance that by making my favorite Jerusalem Artichoke and Hazelnut soup for the week.
Now - that soup sounds awesome. Must pass that along to the chef here.
Las night we had braised crockpot short ribs with rice and red wine gravy, creamed kale, and whipped sweet potatoes.
No wine?
I love short ribs!!
Me too! Skip the wine though. :)
OMG (Oh my Grenache)...
Yes, Cat - duh. I'll note it here and edit it in above. But now you've triggered...the rest of the story.
We brought home several Amador County (CA) reds from a (Marianne's) business visit to UC-Davis back in December 2009. I wasn't aware that this egion of California is well known for Italian varietals, so we had a very pleasant tour around sipping Zinfandel (sometimes aka Primitivo), Barbera, and Sangiovese - amongst others.
One of the last stops was at Driven Cellars (where their logo is a set of tire tracks on the bottle and vintage vehicles in the front yard). Nicely done, as was the wine.
A bottle of 2005 Driven Cellars Primitivo (Shenandoah Valley, CA) was worth waiting for - it just sang with the short ribs.
Do you do Meals on Wheels? My mouth is watering! Today it's pork roast, sweet potatoes, lima beans & applesauce.....
philly cheese steaks with potatoes in it
Fancy salad and lobster bisque
Leftover pork roast tonight....
leftovers last night.
Fench lentilss"stoop" - not quite a soup - not quite a stew.
Someone gave me a recipe for red lentil soup done in the crockpot ....will try it this week....
Note from doctor said my BMI is only 18.9, would like to see it around 22. It's not under weight, but on the border...18.5 and below are considered under. So...anyone got some fattening recipes? Nothing fried though, I need recipes that are sure to gain weight, but not cholesterol.
Drink Boost. Eat nuts. Peanut butter.
I do eat P-butter, can't eat nuts and most of those drinks are NASTY!!
Funny I just calculated my BMI and it has me at overly obese...wish I can give you some of my fat!
Haagen Dazs ice cream shakes, Greek Yogurt, chickpeas, hummus
stick with recipes that are high in protein and even when you make sauces mix in ground chick peas
high in protein ~ Yes, doc said that too
OH PLEASE...don't force me to eat Haagen Dazs !! ^_^
