We went out last night and had lobster ravioli apps, soup, salad, I had crab stuffed shrimp, filet mignon, DH had lobster tail, filet mignon, both were served with mashed potatoes and asparagus, then he had red velvet cake and I had choc raspberry torte.
All was very good.

I just dropped it off.. brought tears to all there eyes.. her brother sent me a note how the flavor just brought his mom back and great memories.. and he thought he would never taste that flavor again.. how it meant so much to the whole family..

Not sure what is for dinner. We'll either go out tonight or for breakfast tomorrow. Depends on whether DGS has riding lessons this afternoon or not. It's his turn to spend the night.

Toaster waffles for breakfast. Hahaha! Going to balance that by making my favorite Jerusalem Artichoke and Hazelnut soup for the week.

Now - that soup sounds awesome. Must pass that along to the chef here.

Las night we had braised crockpot short ribs with rice and red wine gravy, creamed kale, and whipped sweet potatoes.

No wine?

OMG (Oh my Grenache)...

Yes, Cat - duh. I'll note it here and edit it in above. But now you've triggered...the rest of the story.

We brought home several Amador County (CA) reds from a (Marianne's) business visit to UC-Davis back in December 2009. I wasn't aware that this egion of California is well known for Italian varietals, so we had a very pleasant tour around sipping Zinfandel (sometimes aka Primitivo), Barbera, and Sangiovese - amongst others.

One of the last stops was at Driven Cellars (where their logo is a set of tire tracks on the bottle and vintage vehicles in the front yard). Nicely done, as was the wine.

A bottle of 2005 Driven Cellars Primitivo (Shenandoah Valley, CA) was worth waiting for - it just sang with the short ribs.

Note from doctor said my BMI is only 18.9, would like to see it around 22. It's not under weight, but on the border...18.5 and below are considered under. So...anyone got some fattening recipes? Nothing fried though, I need recipes that are sure to gain weight, but not cholesterol.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Drink Boost. Eat nuts. Peanut butter.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I do eat P-butter, can't eat nuts and most of those drinks are NASTY!!
