Coffee Break #72
Jo, those Chihuly sculptures at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix are gorgeous. I got to see some last winter that are now on permanent display there. Really amazing, though I'd be afraid of them breaking. Can you imagine dusting one? I think when I win a mega-million lottery I will buy some of his pieces for donation for public display. I saw his work on the ceiling of the Belagio in Vegas.
Jo, I've seen that Cheap Flights video before. What a riot!
Victor, let's just suffice to say that anything done on the web really is not private. If a person wants to keep what he or she does in private these days, might as well live as a hermit in the Alaskan wilderness somewhere. Big brother is watching us.

Wow, that guy is awesome, Victor! Sure says a lot about our society now.

Good news my nephew made it safely "home" to Germany from Afganistan
Excellent news, Jen. Now you can rest easy.

Great news! The son of the people who own the liquor store I shop at is on his fifth or sixth tour. Forgot his rank, but has hundreds of troops under him.
Now for my other nephew to get back probably in June...Marines are out for 6 month deployments
Hope everyone comes home OK, then makes a smooth transition to stateside life.
Victor: The 60's is when Dale started his studio.
so glad to hear that Jen!!
Great news!
Yes, but that type of glass art was already done by others.
So glad hubby took kids to school, I did paychecks now I'm going back to sleep....feeling that sick feeling in my throat again....gonna try not to get sick AGAIN
Do not get sick, Jen! Great news about your nephew.....my niece just sent me the ebird site...she's hoping to see a snowy owl around Lake Ontario this year.....they've been spotted all over the country this winter...I'd love to see one too.....
Just so you know !!!

that's funny!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very good videa! Do you think the dog and cocatoo were watching the Italian restaurant scene in Lady and the Tramp?
There would be one less cockatoo if that was Suey! My cousin Jim had a cockatoo named Oliver when he lived in FL..
I did marvel at the fact that the dog was so gentle with the bird. I don't think our rottweiler or retriever would have given it much respect.
Wow - same seal team that got UBL rescued the hostages in Somalia. Time for a raise!
One of my former students is a Navy Seal in Afghanistan right now.....
Cool!
In related news, Heidi is divorcing Seal.
Are they famous?
I was kinda sad about that one(Heidi and Seal)
Go Navy!!!!!!!!!
I like him, but he is one ugly dude.
Yeah, what was the childhood disease that caused that?
I agree Victor, almost hard to look at. None of the celebrity divorces really surprised me though, very few stay together long term anymore....sad for them.
Didn't know he had one. Now I feel bad for saying that.
What did he have? Didn't know either :(
type of Lupus called 'Discoid lupus erythematosus' is what is listed now but I thought I heard it was something else

There was a new map a few years ago, done by someone else, which had me moving up to 7.
Up until a few days ago, I would of told anyone that people in Maine will stop and help you if your broke down on the side of any country or back road. We pride our selfs on helping others out, especially on back roads and logging roads up North. It's just common courtesy , do unto others.....then this story turned up on the news....
http://www.wmtw.com/news/30295514/detail.html
I never in a million years would of thought this would happen...my only condolence is that the plates of the truck were from New Hampshire. That doesn't mean the driver is, but I can hope. This is really, really upsetting to alot of people in Maine. You should see how many of the FB pages from Maine who shared the photo......AMAZING!
How horrible. That can happen anywhere, unfortunately.
