Devil Dogs! those things sucked up all the spit and each time eating was a risk of suffocation! cheap thrills!

Thomaston, CT

Never liked sweet things....I was addicted to potato chips...wait...did I type was? Oh, well! Mac & cheese for tonight with stewed tomatoes....

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Chocolate covered potato chips :-)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

my weakness...chocolate covered peanuts. My belly can no longer handle them so now it's M & M's. ^_^

East Bridgewater, MA

Ohhh..... STOP !!! Potato chips dipped in chocolate-heaven-nirvana.

I will cuddle up in a blanket with my food fantasies, thank-you-very-much.

(And weep quietly.)

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Jen Tatykake was bought by a Georgia company for 34 mil last year. They kept the Philly based factory open so no one last their jobs, Hopefully that will continue.

Out to eat tonight with friends!

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

I made little rib eye steaks and angel hair pasta with a jarred roasted garlic Parmesan sauce.

Westbrook, CT(Zone 6a)

Menu du noir:
French Chicken Thighs in Cilantro Sauce (Thank you, Jacques Pepin!)
Scalloped potatoes
Broccoli florets
Chocolate-Oatmeal cookies for dessert.
(and...ahem...they all became ready at the same time -- not always so when I cook!)

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Cilantro sauce sounds good

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Good job Don! I still have not mastered that feat

mmmmm Devil Dogs.....absolute fav

but my guilty pleasure is ice cream, I will NEVER turn it down....so glad to have 2 awesome ice cream stores near us that have homemade ice cream, one is closed for the season the other open year round and is a college kid hang out but they have their own dairy and you can go get fresh milk there and they sell the pints buy 2 get 1 free

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

It's never too cold to eat ice cream!

East Bridgewater, MA

Top quality ice cream = nectar of the gods

Thomaston, CT

Agreed....that's one sweet thing I like....

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

You need to taste Onewish's Humming Bird Cake!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Nothing like home made baked goods(of course) Lady in my church makes this AWESOME peanut butter and jelly cake...even made it gluten free once for our Pastor and me!!!! sooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thomaston, CT

I'm not a big fan of cake...I do have a recipe for a Brazilian chocolate cake I like because it's not too sweet....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Not a fan of cake!!!!????What!!!????

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I much prefer pies and pastries.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I like unfrosted cake

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Why bother?!! ^_^

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I don't like anything that is sickening sweet like Shoo Fly Pie most tiramisu is to sweet for me except this one cake that a lady from church brought to our Christmas brunch, it was a tiramisu cake from Giant Food Stores...man was that good!!! I only had a itty bitty bit cause of the gluten but WOW

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I like carrot cake.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Cinnamon coffee cake
And cheese cake

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

And jelly donuts --but I haven't had a decent honest to goodness jelly donut since ........well when I'd walk home from church on Sundays back in Brooklyn......

I'd use the $ mom gave me for the church basket.........got that jelly donut and a comic book. Archie or Superman........then I'd confess it the next week. Them were the days!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

there is an Italian bakery about 1/2 hour from here they have THE BEST cheese cake, we brought it to a party and it went really fast then our friend said to us "waiting for everyone to leave so I can lick the plate"

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh yes - I do love a good cheesecake. Must be creamy, not heavy. Like coffee cake too.

East Bridgewater, MA

Pecan pie is very sweet due to all the corn syrup, but I can't resist a tiny slice whenever the oportunity arises.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I made a chocolate pecan pie and made a corn syrup substitute so it was more all natural....came out really good

East Bridgewater, MA

Torture me whydontcha ;)

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

Jen, are you the one that brought that unbelievable tray of home made cookies to one of the swaps that I hosted. There's always so much going on that I can't keep track of everything that happens on that day. I know you brought something that everyone was raving about.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

I saw on a TV reality show (chef Roble ??) a pecan pie that was 1/2 sweet potato (bottom) and the top was either pecan or choco pecan. sounded delicious.

Thomaston, CT

No, none of those sweets have tempted me...however, I'm going out to lunch with some friends....so, maybe dessert today!

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

robin,
maybe you are the 'bread' type
banana bread
zuccini bread
date nut bread
pumpkin bread

not a 'sweet' in a traditional sense -- but a dessert for sure.

Thomaston, CT

Rosie, you're right....banana bread is a favorite...I did have dessert today with lunch....but it was ice cream with chocolate sauce....better than the lunch I had!

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Ice cream always manages to makebthings better

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Several bakeries around Boston area sell a Ricotta cheesecake pie. You have to tell them if you want powdered sugar on top or not. It's always a hit. Fortunately for us, the bakeries that have EVERYTHING are in the South End. Not having it around is the best defense.
