Judy, don't let that water sit too long, especially in the walls or you will have a bad mold problem to clear later!
Hey Crissy, still working hard?
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Visit/chat with friends!
Judy, I had the fudge mint ones for my Christmas gift to me. They taste a bit like the mint girl scout cookies.
Also, I have a "disease" of sorts....and really it is a BIG hindrance...as I don't forget much. If it was something someone told me personally,
or a note I read....or I was there...it is in my mind almost permanently. I remember things from when I was under two....and it has been proven. SO...I wish I didn't have it as strong as I do, really some things I need to forget. NOW, when it came to school...not the same type of remembrance issues. lol
LK YES UGH I'll be working hard most of the month, but I'm thinking that after I get it down to a dull roar I'm taking a day or two off, I'm burned out bad.
Debbie isn't that funny how that works? LOL!!!
Back from town, you will know I addressed ALL your concerns, plus few of my own.
YOU WILL ALL BE PLEASED to hear not one thing wrong with me, he had results on 16 pages of reports saying all levels, virus, thyroid, high iron are showing for my age I am above normal in health..
So as I sit here with headache I'm thrilled it went so well...not many can say they are as healthy as I..IF I wish, can make an appt in 2 monthe just to touch bases.
Left there feeling ever so relieved..
Went and bought a few new tops and came home..
Judy, so sorry to hear about the leaks...off to $$$ store for plastic cups, plates, cutlery, will make life a lot easier. Very mild here today, imagine it's the same in your region thus not helping flooding/run off into basement..you better consider Steve's suggestion of moving..issues would be easily solved
Crissy, doubt you took time to properly look after yourself before Christmas and germs have just stayed with you..what would happen if you said you would not be in next week due to illness, can't fire you can they.
Debbie, I think you are blessed having such a memory, lordy, I can't remember much of yesterday. Are you using your pretties from thunder?
LindaKay, must go back to Christmas quilt block thread to get dimensions..won't really do anything on my project, but could have everything cut..might do after a nap
Well a lot of Best things happened to me today. My babe got to come home with me, drive in and out was good AND our Betty got a clean bill of health. Now if we could divine just what is causing Betty's headaches things would be great.
Palliative Care doc is very concerned about the swelling as it is now all through DH's body. He is to do absolutely NO bending or lifting. He is having a conniption over that but all of that can be arranged. I am going to buy him one of those picker upper devices the Arthritis Society sells so he can pick up things that he drops. As for the wood that has been my domain for quite some time so that will not be a problem. Lots of other dos and don't but my wound up tight body needs a lay down. Will be back. I am sooooo excited my babe is home with me.
Dianne
Prayers answered Dianne..bet you both gave a big sigh of relief when you were told he could come home. Does Warren tend to listen to doctors ?
Yikes, brining in wood cannot be easy..is it covered or do you have to brush the snow away? Still, such a cozy atmosphere watching fire flicker and dance.
June just came in, I was just napping..fully awake now, decided to take meds and see if it can ease the pain before I have to get ready to go to funeral home!
Oh Dianne, so thrilled to hear you're *both home!!
Betty, I'm thrilled for your healthy report but am wondering if you're so *healthy then why the headaches? Have you had your eyes checked lately? Maybe your headaches are unrelated to some of the other stuff going on ... Just thinking out loud like Debbie ...
Okay, will BBL.
I cut the sashing strips 5 inches wide, and 12 & 1/2 inches long. Sewed to each side. Then for the corners they are 5 inches square.
I think my binding was 8 inches then folded in half.
Betty, did you tell him about your spider bite, and your sore arm, and foot? Hard to believe all those test showed nothing, considering your in so much pain! Did he check your blood pressure?
Thanks LindaKay, for those of you who know me, I rarely go to doctor (unless you have urged me to go) never ever not be doing something, fortitude of what I don't know, even when out of energy I seem to find some..
Sooo for me to not go on my Christmas trip, to spend almost all week laying down, for me to yelp in pain IT JUST isn't me..
Did have my eyes checked and new glasses, even had to have them altered soooo just don't know...if test all say I'm a fine specimen of health then I guess it is just me
Decided I would make a schedule, eat proper meals at proper times
Try and rest
Not take on too much and see what the next weeks bring
I at this point would rather they have told me I am on my way out (sorry but I'm sure you will know what I mean) rather than say I'm fine when I am not..don't need to be a doctor to know that..did tell him about the bite, did tell him about fainting and dizzy, did tell him about severe back of the neck headaches (he reminded me I'm prone to migraines-these are not the same). Did say if they persist he will order an MRI..think I had one mid summer, can't even remember what part of my body it was on..see Debbie, bad memory
So needless to say I am not p,eased with findings...NOT because I want something to be wrong but my body is telling me something is wrong...do you know what I mean!
So glad you got a clean bill of health, Betty.
Happy that Warren was able to come home!! Yay for Dianne!
Dianne, so Happy you are both home. Wal-mart has those grab things too, might be less expensive???
Betty I totally know what you mean...figure out what it is so plan can be made to fix it !!! that is my thought when I go to Drs.
hugging you in my thoughts, this afternoon.......
spent a good part of day doing the dreaded paper work thing.....went through piles of bills, receipts.....packed away what I figure I need to keep shredded the rest.....pain in the buttt: but glad it is done.
need to clean up sewing room a bit, then I can get to do something......hmmmm what project shall I start with????
oh, we cross-posted, Betty - guess I'm Not glad you got a clean bill of health........... would be nice to know what to take care of, eh?
Thunder, she is just sooo adorable...need me a grandaughter. Lol ok, too late guess I have to stick around for great grandaughter..
It ok Susan, just feeling sorry for myself..
Temps must be dropping, cold in here..best I up the furnace
Betty LOL Missy you better watch out, I did look after myself, this is not my first rodeo with Pneumonia. When I got fatigued walking across the grocery store on Saturday I filled a semi-old Prednisone prescription AND started taking Advair, an inhaled steroid, the night before. So YES I DID take care of myself and therefore I am not sick anymore, there's no way I would let something go on this long.
Now having said that, did you ask the doctor that since you have a clean bill of health WHY do you Constantly have a headache????
Betty could it be that with all of the husbands that have passed lately and the fact that you understandably want to be there to help, could it simply be stress from it all?
YAY Dianne!! So glad Warren got to come home!!
Dressed, prettied up, look half decent and now waiting for Ann to pick me up, then we shall pick Cathy up and off to funeral home..
Darlene called awhile ago, gave me the what for, for not calling her when I got back from the doctors,,,,much more on her mind than me she should have!!
Some easing of pressures for her..company sent a representative..Mike had a large insurance at work, that is being looked after, they give when a staff member dies a months salary to help bereaved family so Dar got 12,000, also will keep her medical coverage going for 2 years..then today she was going through Mike's wallet to look for their wedding photo, wanted to put it in his pocket..found $1,600..she says that she can't imagine how some wives are left penniless, thank goodness no worries for her..
She was holding up, we gabbed for about 1/2 hour then on the run she went..has to be at funeral home by 6:00...says if her big sister who is a gmt negotiator doesn't stop bossing her around they will come to blows..she has had little contact with her so why I don't know..but, thank goodness Dar is strong and can hold her own.
So glad Crissy that you were able to stay on top of it..sure wouldn't want my Crissy to be sick...no, this has been going on for a few months so not due to recent happenings. Crissy I had a laugh..used to go to hospital so often to get a needle to put me out because of migraines (did I post this before?). He asked how long since I've had migraines to that extent, told him since Roger died...he burst out laughing...did tell him they are different, in back of neck..not worried so guess I shouldn't be either..
Bit worried, when I was at the doctor's today Cindy mentioned that a woman from the hospital had passed from same..just now been thinking, friend Mary Valley a few years ago had anarysm and miracle she survived..came to me that earlier when speaking with Bernie he mentioned Lenny and Suzanne came home to find a friend had passed..sure hope they mean Mike and not Mary..surely Greg is a friend of Mary's and her hubby that he would have told me..
Leeann my niece posted she was off yesterday morning, seems her hubby's mom from the islands had a stroke and wasn't to live long so she was driving Phyl her hubby to catch a flight..drats, this is only Jan 6th...hope the rest if the year fares well.
Dianne so glad Warren got to come home.
Betty sending a hug your way. But just one question.....did the DR. check your blood pressure?????
Lots of news here. Glad Warren is home. Betty, I have a mixed reaction to your "everything is fine" report as it's clear that everything isn't fine. With all you have had going on, I'd recommend a good massage or two. Some include headache treatments.
Tony lined the last of the kitchen shelves and I painted some tires. I'm still in a lot of pain but keeping fairly active. I'm jst careful about what I undertake as my brain isn't at its best when I'm sore. However, once I start doing low-brain activity like painting tires I can get lost in it at least for a while.
Dogs got into a huge fight last night. No idea what started it but I had to drag Jenny off of Rosie to save Rosie's life. Dana and Tom heard the dogs and me yelling at them. Everything is calm today. Max will get neutered next week and I hope he will be less aggressive.
I'm sticking well to my food plan which does help with the pain. I'll be glad when my painkillers come in the mail. Maybe next week.
Our spring-like weather continues and I'm enjoying being neither too hot or too cold. Call me Goldilocks.
hugs, katie
Meleana is so Adorable!! Look at that smile!
So glad Warren is home with you Dianne!
Betty, Very glad you got an excellent report. hmmm, Maybe the headaches are Stress related and nothing else.
LOL, Debbie, which I had a great memory!! Amazing on memories from before age 2, hope they are wonderful ones.
I am wiped out...emotionally and physically. All day been working on clean up, up & down stairs lugging christmas boxs and laundry...Dh Calls with famous what are you up to?? Needed me to do a few errands, one of which consisted on lugging a heavy 4 wheeler from basement, toss into truck.
Well lugged it up, Anthony threw it in the truck and away i went...Well first turn I make is out onto Milwaukee, a very busy road. All the sudden, the four wheeler goes flying out of the bed of the truck!! So i pull over as soon as possible, run the road to retrieve it. All the sudden traffic gets fast again, few cars manage to avoid then a truck runs over it and then another car, others coming to stops so about to step out in traffic to get it and this lady is like, she has to go!! I put my hands out waiving for her to stop and just before she is about to hit it she makes the stop!! I 'm like my God, this could have caused a wicked pile up, not to mention I could have been pancaked too...All the while a police car sitting across watching, see's everyone unscathed and goes the other way! Whew, I still don't have my wallet, thinking i am so busted...Retreived my broken four wheeler, Thanking God, no one was hurt. Get in my car shaking all the way to the house. Then Tell dh what happened, gives me hug and sends me to the Store!! Got to the store get his items, now driving with these huge pieces of lumber. The guys were like you should be fine for such a short drive...I practically break down and scream Hey don't i need some kind of flag for the over hang...They take pity and put 2 red plastic sheets on the ends...Make the delivery and Dh says I really need a four wheeler, would you mind going to the other house and get the one there...Are you kidding?? Sigh, Ok...So I get there and The cuz is still there and now I have to make chit chat & answer 20 questions!! Final question you have to move some big stuff... I am not a good liar so, I just say well yeah, have a big water leak-(truth) need to move stuff (truth)...LOL But Steve needs this, i am just the gofer!! Lug the thing to truck and he loads it in, drive back to the other house and then home, shaking like a leaf... Now I was sitting here thinking , I should have said no, I just want to ride around the basement! Now I am at home, Beg Breenie to pick up jake when calls 'cause I'm not going anywhere else today..and with at I am having a Beer and possibly another six cookies!! Oh then Dh says hey lets bbq, I'm like you cook where ever you want, i am done for the day!! LOL.
Oh what a day you had! Have a beer for me please?
Katie, sure hope your pain meds arrive soon! Sounds like your keeping busy too?
ok - we need a Joke for y'all!

Hello To All !
TGIF !!!
Judy - I'm going to fuss at you girl... no 4 wheeler is worth your life... I had a Manager who was killed changing a tire on the side of the interstate... so I've always told the kids... no matter what... get off the road.
If you'd have called me I'd have told you to leave it out there... But I am SO glad you are okay.... have a second Miller Lite gal you deserve it. Shame on hubby ! Don't think he realized what all you've been through.
Betty - i'm agreeing with Katie on the massage... and I'll raise to a visit to the Chiropractor... have you tried that ?
Katie Mom had 7 dogs when she passed... sometimes they would get in fights and my heart just breaks for you to have to deal with that... surely fixing Max will help....have they determined who the Alpha is yet ?
Thunder WHAT a cutie !
Judy, Dianne and Thea - I mailed ya'lls books out Wednesday... Judy you will get Seedfolks from me... Thunder will get Seek from Susan....
I am sure enjoying this book trade thing !
Dianne - I think you will like Seed Folks better than Minds Eye... but all his books I've enjoyed so far.
Suse - can you remember which one you found ? I haven't read them all yet. The one I sent Thea must be from early in his career but I think you would all like it. (But not as much as Whirligig)
Susan - your No Snow comment reminded me ... Calgary... I think of it as the spot for Winter Olympics one year ...?
Betty - this must be very frustrating for you...
Could it be gas leak from something else ? We have a gas water heater... I really thought Deb might be on to something there.. Deb - if I ever get REALLY sick... I'm gonna start saving now... and I want to fly you down here to take care of me... I mean it... You better tell Paul that now.... I suppose you need to get better first though... (am I being selfish here?)
seriously I am so impressed with your medical knowledge...You know CBS has a new show about a gal who remembers everything... trying to remember the name of it... you can see I do NOT Have that gift.... I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday.
It's been a very emotional week... I know for us all.... Special Hugs going around...
Dianne - I AM SO HAPPY Warren is home !
BBL,
Mary
SUSAN I LOVE THOSE !
Here's one I've heard here.... (and will make a small change).
Is there a Fourth Of July in Canada?
(Most people will say "no" because they think you really mean Independence Day especially if you ask them around the holiday)
We have Canada Day, which is July 1st. It's Canada's birthday, celebrating when we became a country in 1867.
D'ya know that fireworks are set off because of the British "Guy Fawkes Day"? Fawkes became synonymous with the Gunpowder Plot (a failed assassination attempt of King James 1st - a Protestant, when they hoped to replace him with a Catholic monarch), the failure of which has been commemorated in England since November 5,1605. His effigy is often burned on a bonfire, commonly accompanied by a firework display.
I guess we just like fireworks, eh?
Betty Im agreeing with the massage/chiropractor thing, I go to thr chiropractor whenever my whiplash acts up or my bone spur starts bothering me, it always relieves the pressure. Yes, with being borderline asthmatic I have to be on top of every cold no matter how bad it is. Im glad Darlene made it through the day, and getting/finding that money is wonderful.
Katie I hope your pain goes away quickly. I always hurt more when I'm heavier than I should be. Darn dogs, getting him neutered should definitely calm him down. Females are almost as bad as the males sometimes.
Judy!!! How big was that 4 wheeler?Dave's 250cc is pretty small and I could see that getting hit and not causing too much damage, but my 500 is a beast and that would cause damage. I hope no one comes after you for damage repair money. Sooooo glad you're ok!
I'm typing this on my cell phone and my fingers are wearing out so Im going to say night night.
Morning, early start to the day...must say that when I went to put garbage in the bin it felt like April weather, so very mild! Glad that rather is mild, no blizzard for all travelling to the funeral today.
Last night was a gathering of so many friends I hadnt seen in some time, wish it would have been under better circumstances. Dar was holding up, another hard day ahead of her today. Then comes the hard part......
Omg Judy, you could have been killed..Crissy is right, they could come after you for any damages, not a good thought. Then, for Steve to send you yet on another errand..lol. Hoping you have a hang over...oooh watching a movie Judy called source code, couple just sat in the Chicago park, right under the round mirror structure, said to myself, I've been there!
Katie, you could have been badly bitten, yikes..pulling dogs out of a fight is pure instinct
but ohhhh outcome horrid at times...with being Mexico, does the mail from USA take ins to get there? Hooe meds soon arrive...glad weather is cooperating for you as well..ahhh to be sitting n Mexico... Big to do here this week with a Canadian being murdered, not so sure they gmt will make travel advisories a mandate to travel agencies. Guess based on #'s who travel there to those injured or killed a minimum but with drug cartels fighting one could easily be hurt n the more touristy of areas..hope you are in a safe region.
Almost lost my post will press send and continue
Mary, watch that show as well, called Unforgetable..
How right you are, Debbie has more knowledge re health issues than I've ever seen..guess it comes with raising a daughter who by a miracle is still alive, a mom who was deathly I'll as we'll as every day illnesses...guess its her good memory that retains it all..I have to frequently ask what side my heart is on. Lol
Susan, loved you post..mind twisters
Well, best I finish my hair, mom is suppose to come this morning to pick up her fireplace that I bought when I bought mine and I'm to cut her rag quilt blocks..all this before I leave for funeral home at noon
Oops telephone
Mom, will be here around 9am
Got to run
Hi to all others
Dianne, hope you both managed to get a good nights rest!
This message was edited Jan 7, 2012 7:52 AM
Betty, make sure you give Darleen lots of hugs from all us, and tell her we send our LOVE!!!
Betty, with you in my thoughts and prayers today....yes, Dar needs a hug from all of us!
Mary, I would be there in an instant to take care of you...even if I have to walk!
Regarding medical....I have had so many experiences, EVEN Carbon Monoxide here at home......and just retain so much from that. All 3 of my girls have health issues of sorts, with the youngest having more than others. We have lived at the hospital in Rochester/Ronald McDonald house during much of this. You meet other families, learn of their health issues...and as I said..I retain it. We have been to Cleveland Clinic with our oldest medical mysteries.....and then my Mom. My stepfather battled migraines and issues. When the older two were in college and taking any kind of medical or biology/science course....I loved reading their books. BUT...mostly, I do research. The doctor will tell me something and I learn everything I can about it to make things better. AND the same with the animals.
That said...when retaining the good things memory, you also retain the bad....and that isn't good all the time.
Betty, even more so now.....call the gas company, NOT your son....and have them come in with a meter. Have to ask. Does your headaches get better AT ALL when you are out of the house for long periods....and worse back at home?
Just love the picture of the little one....she is so darn cute!
Judy, I would have had a six pack of beer....and one cookie! And I don't like beer! That had to scare the bajeeebies out of you! Thank heavens are car was not right behind you when that fell out. Tell Steve you want ropes and bungie cords before you transport ANYTHING on wheels again!!! Then kick him in the leg for putting you in that position TWICE!
Back in a bit
Debbie
Yes, please let her know we are holding her close. I give my prayers for strength and peace for her and all the family. And that goes for you and the rest of the ladies......
Sending prayers of strength and comfort today Betty for both you and Darlene.
Finally, mom/Jim got here at 9:30..thankfully he came, mom just has no retention, must have repeated things 50 times...
Jim brought a book but I thought no way will she rag these blocks so had Jim do them all with the accuquilter..my arm doesn't have the strength..think his arm was aching when he finished 179 blocks
then I couldn't get her to understand when you have 4 different patterns of material what you do to continue on an uneven row number so that it forms a patters..so sat with graph paper and paint and painted all the little squares with sequence colors, row by row, block by block, showed Jim how to park the machine so her 'x's
would be somewhat straight..not so sure she'll remember how to put together but will be another visit I guess...
earned 'heaven' points this morning..headache pills for sure
off to get dressed
photo of step father, wonder how many curse words he used..lol
Will indeed pass a hug onto Darlene
Judy, what an adventure. REminds me of how glad I am to be in a small town with minimal errands. I'd be wiped out for days with what you went through.
It is fairly safe here. There are some problems with drugs and alchohol but no big cartels - town is too small and too poor. Everyone pretty much knows who the problem people are. My property is fenced and the dogs are enough to scare off anyone who might be up to no good. I watch Dana and Tom's property while they are in Washington state during the summer. The only incident last summer was a back hoe parked between our properties. When one of the men got out and checked the lock on their gate, I opened my gate and asked what was going on. "Nothing," they said, and left. Dana and Tom are still puzzling over this. It was funny because the men on the backhoe had no idea I was there until I opened the gate. From the road my property doesn't look like much and doesn't suggest that there might be a watcher there.
It's chilly today (for here). I'm doing some Christmas cleanup along with my kitchen/living room work. It's coming along. Tony is working on a door to the new garden so we can maybe get the fence moved and secured next week. I'm working on getting tires painted so we can start the stacked wall when the fence is secure.
Had a funny conversation with Dana last night. Talking about Tony an how much we appreciate each other and she said something like she was sure we were both careful to be sure to keep the relationship even, meaning to see that I would be sure he didn't get more than I did and vice versa. I was kind of startled to even think this way, then I laughed and said "We're both so grateful for each other that we are always looking for more to do for theother." It was a nice moment of awareness. I've not had a lot of relationships like this. It goes well with the ones I have here. I never worry about someone here letting off steam or talking about a hard time. There is so much love and caring here that I never feel that anyone is making demands or wanting too much.
Bless you alll for being here.
hugs, katie
Betty my thoughts and prayers are with you, Darlene, and her family.
Jim, What a gem!!
Think I will call it a night, but before I do, think I should move us over
To where, Betty?
