Debbie I'm proud of Paul!! She won't starve, trust me, my mom did it to me and it was tough love but it was love and I wouldn't be where I'm at today if she hadn't have made me grow up in that respect because I was not going to do it on my own.

I agree with the ladies, Debbie - Tough Love is still Love!!

Tough love is the only responsible parenting..sooo hard but blessing to see how kids turn out!

Went out, mix of freezing rain..went and picked up the Bonaire portable fireplace that mom wanted me to pick up..bought one for me self..a few years ago some will remember when I wanted to make a shelf in my bedroom to fill in a day I ended up making a faux fireplace with MSG and wallpaper..bought metal iece with candles to give it ambiance..looks ok but think the fireplace will keep me warm and cozy in my bedroom..

Omg Debbie, we cross posted..Thunder you are quite a dg friend..with feeling so poorlyand here she took time to think of you..absolutely makes you feel special doesn't it Debbie...love everyone and angel is too cute for words.. Colors will match your decor!

Ladies, I have a prayer request please? Some of you may know Faye/dahtzu. She posted this on another thread...

My Ray needs your prayers. Today we were told that he has cancer again. 3 Yrs ago he lost a kidney to cancer and now the cancer has come again in his back. Ray will have surgery next Fri. the 13th. Dr. said it would be wide and deep because will be cutting out muscle. My heart is breaking, I love him dearly.

Pass on to Faye & Ray that they're in my thoughts and prayers and that the dear Lord guides the surgeon's hands for a successful surgery. Also that Ray recovers well and quickly.

Oh my I read Mike's Obit in the TO Star this afternoon Betty and it really hit home harad for me. Holding Dar close to my heart and so glad she has you as a friend Betty. I am not surprised Annis having a difficult time with Mike's death. Just a little too close in time for her, I am sure her emotions are still quite raw.

DH has not been well these last 2 days and a call to the CC today was met with instant action. Since we are going in tomorrow morning anyway, the Radiation Oncologist called in a new steroid mede for my babe. Pleae send positive thoughts I am very concerned they will want to keep him in hospital tomorrow.

Sending positive thoughts and energy to Ray LK. I know what you all are going through.

Need to go help DH move, he is having trouble even doing that.

Dianne, this province of Ontario is widespread, so wish I lived closer to I could offer some help! Heart is breaking for you ... How does Warren feel about being kept in the hospital, better still how do you feel..know you want him near you until his very last breath..let's hope meds will help and you will have him by your side for quite some time..

I will go in search of the obit in the star, perhaps not tonight as I'm totally exhausted, more mentally than anything else

Had my bath, making sure animals are fed, took some meds and will go for a lay down...know I won't sleep worrying about all my friends but just laying quiet might help.

When I got home tonight a message from a friend was on the recorder, could I call her, could tell by her voice that she was distraught..memories

Shawnee painted with me, spent time as a volunteer at the Community Center, lived on the lake I lived on..one day she was here, actually time flies, it was 5 years ago, got a call from her hubby that he had been to Coldwater family doctor who wanted him to go to Orillia hospital (30 minutes away) because his blood from taking meds was extremely thin..

She left and I got a call an hour later saying he fell entering hospital and was brain dead..big sigh, so today Shawnee who also painted with Dar and I here at the house heard about Mike and memories galore, emotion rampid..remembers the many odd hours she would call me to talk, thanked me and said Dar couldn't be in better hands...

Much responsibility , I'm so sorry to put all this on you, everyone has problems..just really nobody to break down to as most of my friends are heartbroken and distraught, don't need me crying on their shoulders...

I'm back at the internet cafe. We had a high temp of 80 yesterday; in the 70's today. I'm outside as much as possible. I have seeds to plant but end up building up the soil instead. I like to play in the dirt; mad scientist mixing soil ingredients together. My cordao plant which I grew from seed has a blossom on it.

Had to get neighbor Dana to open a paint can for me today. I'm sore, it seems, all over. However, I am able to move around and I don't mind asking for help (much). Have begun painting the tires for the stacked wall in the new garden.

Prayers for all of you who are dealing with some heavy stuff. My neighbor Ron had a stroke and was taken to La Paz. He is recovering.

Dana and I had a little visit and watched some birds. We have lots of them here, being an oasis. They got most of my tangerines. They don't seem to like the lemons or grapefruit.

I will go home and lie down. The good news is that I was not in pain when I woke up this morning. It took about an hour to start. I think the weight loss is really helping though it's hard to think so when everything seems to ache. I'm grateful to be alive and mobile and not too brain-dead.

Kitchen is almost done. I need to get Tony to help with shelf paper on the lower shelves or I may never get up off my knees. He did serious clean-up in the storage room and bombed the cockroaches with Dana's help. Reminds me I need to buy Raid.

Betty, dear Betty, you can say whatever you need to here and know that we DO understand and that we are here for you. You have made this thread a place where we are all "safe and free from judgement". We are all here for each other in bad times as well as good. And we have very strong shoulders to help carry whatever load needs to be carried. That was quite the compliment that your friend paid to you as she realizes just what an angel you are to your friends. They all know you care and that you are always there for them. We all just wish we could be there now too...Get some rest dear heart - tomorrow will be another long day....I'm keeping you and all my Canada friends close in my heart and prayers are being said for their needs.

Betty I don't think your friends or maybe they do know what a gem of a person they have has a friend. All of this must be very hard on you too - painful memories I am sure are surfacing for you as well. You know all of us here are ready to help your shoulder all of this pain.

So glad Betty IS going to the dotcor tomorrow. Remember she DID promise us she will. Will be thinking of you Betty while you are there in the soc's office. Please do not leave without some answers. I am sorry but getting older and whatever else rubbish the doc is trying to feed you just doesn't wash. Sending positive thoughts the visit will provide you with some answers.

SIL marg just called, she has been down with that bad flu that has been closing the hospitals here over the weekend..not well at all..just wanted to gab! She had to be at same doctors as I but at 9am..as she doesn't drive offered to pick her up and drive her in, two fold offer, maybe then doctor might have squeezed me in earlier but then thought better of it...what I don't need to be doing is spreading germs to hundreds of people at viewing and funeral parlor.

I feel so sorry for her, she and roger we're the closest..wish he was her to get things straightened around..her son who has mental issues is hard on her, he just moved in with her, virtually taken over her appt..she was talking and mentioned Allan in the bedroom..here this 44 year old took over her bedroom, she is on living room couch sicker than a dog..shaking my head..hard love might have been the answer, too late now!

marg asked if I had called my mil?? No, didn't, with all going on completely forgot it was fil's birthday and just after midnight he passed on..2nd anniversary I believe..

Was just starting to doze off, now I'm wide awake and adrenaline working overtime!

Going to pack a small bag for W just in case they do admit him.W is starting to freak that he will have to stay in the hospital tomorrow. Maybe is they give him some Lasix that would help. The Radiation Oncologist has doubled his steroid in take so really need that explained. The only thing I can think of is that the radiation has really irritated the tumour in W's lungs.Have taken both his watch and chain off as they were pinching him so badly.

OK, going to stoke the fire and read for a bit. Sweet dreams everyone.Make sure you all do somethiing nice for yourself tomorrow ladies!

Morning all, although I'm up early when I have the chance to sleep in I've enjoyed a decent nights rest, will feel better for that!

Poor Warren, he must be so frightened! Think you are doing well packing a.bag..having what is needed to make him comfy should they admit him will save you a trip back home to get pack one. You just have to wonder if the meds are helping or causing even more problems. Hope the weather is cooperating for all this driving you have to do..tou must be running on nerves Dianne..do look after yourself.

Laura, tell the little one last night snowman would have had to be made in slushy form, got on warm side most of the day.

Laura - there are NO snowmen in our part of Calgary - not even very much slush............. mostly some icy spots, dry pavement and brown grass........ it got to 59F on Wed.......... (15c to us Canucks!! lol )

Betty, your going to laugh at me.....but go ahead.

Woke up in the middle of the night and said "OMG....Betty get your fireplaces and gas checked, its a CO2 leak" and remembered
you had one last year and they were going to shut the gas off, but one of your sons fixed it. Betty, get a gas man in there.....there is usually no
charge for them checking with the meter.....everything from the stove, the fireplaces, the hot water tank. IF you look up the signs of CO2 poisoning.....the worst is the headache which makes head feel so heavy to hold up like stack of books/bricks on top.

AND...there is a blood test your doctor can do to check also. These headaches got worse when you closed up the house and turned on the heat.

The new fireplaces Debbie are electric, will mention it to Greg though..as foor blood tests, the 28 or so files they took a few weeks ago should show if anything irregular...not a hypochondriac so when he says you are A+ I'll flip! Now debbie, rather than awakening from deep sleep oner me and CO2. You had better dream of that good looking UPS man. Lol

Well, I have no water today. 4-6 hours, so been busy filling tub and water jugs. As for our personal leak, ack it's in the wall somewhere. So can't use my kitchen sink at all...Yesterday was running the water to water all the plants, ran dishwasher, etc...Never realizing we had a leak till I was in basement. DH washing hands and i hear a Waterfall, went to inspect, major leak found, along with pools of water everywhere!! The thing with that is DH just cannot get to it until maybe Monday?? Yikes, good thing We are Campers at heart!! Will have to deal with dishes the good old fashion way, lol...And i am so Glad all the laundry has been dealt with before today!!

OMG, I was such a bad girl yesterday!! Went shopping and I made sure to have enough $$ to get a package of the double stuffed Cream sandwiches!!!
ROFLOL, Gorged on 6 while driving and then Hid them when i got home! haha, taste buds were estatic!!
