Burnt my pork roll...hope it's not an indication of the way the day is going to go
Cute photos....
Finally got the bulbs in - yay!!! Scilla, jonquil narcissus and iris reticulata. All near the entryway. Should make a nice mass. Hopefully they will spread too.

cute
LOVED the rocking after eating part.
I feel much more kindly towards bats now, Jo....you can see how much of a mammal they really are.......my niece sent me some very cute photos of her new cat, hiding in the cupboards, and in the frying pan!
O M G Sarah almost adopted a cat. It looks like she will be willing to go for another one. It was on Craigs list and when she re read the info we determined it was a ferril cat. No thanks, they are real trouble.
What was the original?
Thats pretty deep Bill.Looks like the "instalation art era" of the 80's
Titled Egghead?? ^_^
Oh my!
This is nice.

Man of stone rather than steel....good portrayal! Jo, Laurie's cat came from Lollipop Farm....they have some beauties there.....
It has to be Sarahs choice ,I cant afford to vet cats anymore, plus they have every chance of outliving me.
Ohh yes. That guy is famous. His work sells for millions. He was a trash picker in Rio de J I think.
Cool!
very good joann - he had trash pickers in rio help with the photo project (largest landfill in the world) he was not picker although he is from brasil and now is in brooklyn - there is a good documentary on this we watched from netflix the other night - sisyphus was the original picture, a man in ancient times doomed to carry rocks forever and vic munoz is the artist who did the appropriation my wife used. and then there was me in freezing temps splayed across my rock nursery........................:)
Thanks for the memory jar Bill. I forgot his name. The documentary is great. It reminds one of how little we really need for sustaining life. I liked the fact he found small business opertunities for the pickers he did in trash.
Its the scale of his work that astounds me. What energy.
Love your wifes image of you as sisyfus. She has a wry sense of humour.
well let's see what she get's for a grade - she has a 4.0 gpa and this may cost her:)
there is another good documentary we saw, rivers and tides by scottish artist andy goldsworthy that you may like
Is that the one of large scale sculptural constructions? I think I saw it. I just watched a great piece on the architect who designed MOMA Frank Gehry (sp) I love to hear artists talk about their process. He works tha same way I do.
Its a docu filmed and produced by his friens Sidny Pollack so its very high quality.
Netflix has it.
??? Jo - I don't think Gehry did the MOMA.
Hmmmm I just wikipediad it and looks like your right.

jo - he does some large scale stuff like a huge flowing rock wall in upstate NY - also with leaves and other natural items - his art is called temporary art - he basically uses items from the land and let's them float down rivers or builds ice arch's by the sea and photograph's them as the sun rises and tide comes in or floating downstream - all about the flow of nature - very interesting and the extras in the dvd (which i rarely look at) where good in depth explanations
Yes I have seen that disc. I have also seen the docu about the wall and the wall itself. What inner vision, just astounding.
Thanks, Ronnie...that brought tears to my eyes.....praise God, indeed!
Loved the hummer! Rufous do show up in CT in the late fall sometimes....if flowers were still blooming, must have been last month some time.....or are flowers still blooming in the city?
I would guess that insects would be difficult to find so I am glad that the flowers were available.
Scary!! Don't they chlorinate their water?!!

I see that they went on to frighten people about orange juice.
I was wondering if our reverse osmosis filter would get rid of that amoeba
