For x-mass this year i asked for a few books on stone walling and a gardening book by gordon hayward. I had just finished a new Clancy novel that took me 3 weeks to read. I have blown through 2 1/2 of these xmass books in 3 days and i only opened them while having breakfast and lunch. Amazing how fast they go when you are really interested.
Coffee Break # 69 Its Holiday time
So, now you can go back through and savor them, wha. I got a couple of dolls on sale this week. Instead of saving them for Christmas, they will be a birthday present in March.
I got a sewing machine this fall and have made a few things for the girls. I plan on making some doll clothes for them. So, now I'm on the lookout for material and notions wherever I go, including thrift shops. If I get women's dresses or men's sweaters or shirts then I can cut them down. I found a beautiful Nautica sweater for $3 and made a pillow from it. Still have the sleeves to make something else. Don't know what yet.
Next week, after Jeff goes back to school, I'll dedecorate and think about packing for my trip. Leaving the 11th for FL. Then a 10 day cruise with my friend from MI. she is like a mother to us. That is if her daughter can get her passport straightened out. Apparently it expired in Sept. Her community goes on a cruise every year. It is a group of 30. After we get back, I stay an extra week, visiting a cousin and also Louise and Hank. I am soooooo excited!!!
Thanks for the nice comments....really helped get me through the day! Pixie, wish I knew where you got the Hayden doll....even though my Hayden has dark hair & hazel eyes, she would be thrilled with a doll that had her name! Gosh, Jan, that sounds like fun! Wish I was going to visit Louise & Hank....no cruise, though!

Looked for Christmas cards at the local store, but didn't find any. Perhaps I will get a catalog from chicago Inst. of Art. They have cards from their graduates including E. Gorey. I have enoughh wrapping paper to start next Christmas. I mail so much I have 3 rolls on hand.
Going into business, Bill?! ^_^
Enjoy your trip and say hi to Louise and Hank, Jan!!
I was interviewed by a news reporter from one of the Hartford stations today...it was about Verizon charging fees if you pay by credit card...have no idea why the team was in my little town...anyway the cameraman said I would be on the news tonight.....it will probably be the 11:00 show & I'll be asleep!
Verizon already changed their mind.
Oh, great...now I'll never be on TV...oh, well, I wasn't too coherent anyway.
Neither was Verizon.
I have trouble being coherent, sometimes.
Thank you, I am very excited. I've signed up for a tour on the Dominican Republic that will visit someone's farm, a school, a beach where we'll have lunch, and a waterfall area so we can swim. I'm planning on picking up school supplies when I get to FL to take to the school. This isn't one of the excursions listed by the cruise line. I met someone on the Cruise critic website that will be on the same ship and mentioned this tour, so I said to myself-why not? She and her husband live near Reading, PA. She also is a former teacher. Should be fun. I'll let you know when I get back.
Your trip sounds like a lot of fun Jan!
Sounds like fun Jan!!!!

Jan (or anyone interested) I have some fabric, some larger pieces and some smaller, you're welcome to, I'd be happy to mail it out.
Thank you, Pixie....just ordered that doll for HayHay's birthday in Feb. I was on TV after all....only about 5 seconds since the issue had been resolved...I'm surprised they ran it....slow news night, I guess!
Anyone planning an end of the world party next Dec 21?? I say we all be on DG at the stroke of midnight! ^_^
