Dianne, just found mailing slip, forgot I had tracking number, says delivered successfully on the 77th?? Think your postman is slipping again!
Oh Debbie, she will be thrilled..she loves cooking right? Sounds as though you better rest tonight, quite a weekend ahead...oh no for the Child, isn't it funny, when Ann and Cathy were here earlier we were talking about girls/boys breaking up so they wouldn't have to purchase gift and get back together shortly after chrismas has passed..wouldn't want to be n your house for the next while..
My Jeff had a birthday yesterday..called me tonight, he will be coming up Christmas afternoon and back to the city boxing day..got to see what Greg's schedule is..boys, they just don't see the need to plan early. Lol
Best/Worse/??I learn today? Come sit a spell, all welcome!
Hello To All !
LK - Yum...thanks for the orange rolls...remind me of childhood. ((HUGS)) and more prayers for Heather...Keep us posted !
Oh Judy - I agree with Betty - just post a "hi" a time or two... ((HUGS)) Where will you be for Christmas season ? do you ever go to the camp? Is wrestling season over ?
Barb... LOVE the Friends quote.... THANK YOU so much. stealing it to send around. Hope all is well with you my friend.
SUSE ! Gal you did so good ! I remember Deb loves chickens...and the GRITS... what a great idea :o)
Betty - I agree... I feel like I'm opening up the gifts with everyone else !
Susan - I am thinking positive about this.... someone "high up" has made the claim that you will get the job... so I'm thinking your immediate boss may not know all the details but wondering meanwhile if you can research MS scheduler training and maybe get a peek so you'll be a step up. You're so good at that kind of stuff anyway....You'll get it in a snap!
Oh Katie - would LOVE to have your weather even here in Louisiana. News said we were *colder than New York* the other day.
That doesn't happen often. 2 days ago I had to cover up my hibiscus, bird of paradise, and our sea grape... I hate covering stuff up but it has to be done...lows in the 30's... not good ....I don't like it....
Deb ! YAY ! I'll be at Sams Club tomorrow too ! so I'll get to see you ! I "made a date" with MIL who has a Sams card... I'm taking her out for Breakfast first......Heard they had good prices on hoop earrings (DSD) and need other items. MIL is a Master Shopper so I'm looking forward to getting done... PLUS I took Monday off (no sales meeting YAY!)
Deb - "The Child"... whew... I would stay away too... what a wacky boy that was ..she is better off without him... ring one day then broke up... Hmmmm....
Katie - I'm so glad you are having a Good Christmas. I am as well...
Christmases have been stressful years past.... 2 years ago I was fit to be tied ...I had given up on the girls.... told hubs to send to their Mom's....last year we were recovering from that.
This year has been different and happy and functional... for a change. I know Betty tried to tell me... if she or a heavenly angel could have shown me a crystal ball of these times... back then....Hmmm....
I'll pop back in a bit. I can't wait for my Buddy to get their swap !
Dianne - wish I could have read your long post... I know how frustrating that is... used to happen to me all the time... Hope you and Santa Warren are doing well. Is Santa Warren enjoying hearing about all our Fun ! Thanks to you two for our very Merry Christmas !
Mary
Mary, Diannes post is on the craft thread....she just posted it on the wrong one.
Yes, this BF of "The Childs" is something else. Pierced everything, tattoos...which I don't mind..but the facial piercings (two in lips, tongue, ears, eyebrow) and he really is a cute kid. Lives a bit too much on wild side....she just wants to be "part" of a relationship like all her friends. She is a HARD person to get along with...so not all his fault. She has OCD very bad just like her father....possibly worse.
Thanks Deb... will try to find the "craft" thread... I just realized that that is what everyone is receiving from Betty with the tea lites.... LOL.... I'm dumb... I know...
So much the kids do to try to fit in...yet to stand out.... My version of "The Child" is our youngest... her 18th bday... 11/25 and we had "the party" which was put on by her friends... in their swim suits I noticed that her belly button was pierced.
Notified Hubs... who said he would "deal with it" of course he HAS NOT.....
Oh well.. bigger battles to face. It's not mine to deal with.....
That has been a HUGE obstacle for me to do... learning to say... "if her Dad and Mom arent' going to deal with it...then how can I" because I am ....after all....ONLY the STEP mom.... LOL
((HUGS))
Mary
Mary, The Child said last week...I am going to get another tattoo, but this one will be for a good cause. I replied "supporting the homeless? Thats what your going to be if you come in this house with another tattoo!" She stood there with her mouth open and "yeah right" and her father actually said "Yeah right...I wouldn't try it". I was amazed, he NEVER backs me up.
NOW, before I get criticized before being anti tattoo....I am not. She does things FAST without thinking...and reacts later. She will do it just because "so and so" got one and she has to keep up. She has OCD very bad...and some comprehension issues....so it needs to be done this way with her. She already has one tattoo...thought out, for her and my Mom. And her nose pierced on the side...little diamond stud.
She argued with me getting out of work...and went over to the BFs house to get her "stuff" as he wasn't home and his Mom told her to get it while he was gone. Oh joy. Now I wait for her to get home....and pray no deer and that the snow is under control out there.
Mary, its not an easy situation. Step or not...speaking up is a sign of "you care" and are trying to help her make wise choices in life. Steps are VERY important...and she will realize that one day.
Deb - You are absolutely right... if they are getting any piercing or tattoo out of rebellion... I object.... If they are on their own... financially responsible... and making their own decisions... they are clear to do whatever... I am fine with that.
But don't go pay $$ to get a tattoo or a piercing and then look to me for money...... for whatever.....Gas? School? Because if you have money for that... then you can help with the OTHER...... Right?
EXACTLY! DD went and got the piercing and then needed $20 for gas for her car. HELLO. Um, sorry...bank is broke. She gave me a list for shopping...all this stuff she needs as she had to get her car fixed. I am sorry...you do not need nail polish...shampoo and conditioner (six bottles different kinds up there) and all these snacks for your drawer at work...for others to eat. No no no. I will pay for doctors, I will help for "real important things" but not for her to go out and have fun....and we "suffer" doing it for her.
Betty 77 doesn't make sense? Please give me the tracking # and I will take it into the lovely Post Mistress on Mon. morning bright and early. In fact I will be the that NOT smiling face at her door waiting for it to be unlocked. This will be the THIRD time our mail courier has done this to us - then he lies like a rug about how he forgot to put the card in our mailbox and take the parcel back into the PO as he is supposed to per regs. Just how many times can he do this and not be reprimanded? I understand we are not the only ones who have had this experience with him. I stopped ordering on line from Chapters because of this issue with him. Amazon uses UPS which comes right to the door.
Well the tree is up!! Not decorated but up! Tree is lovely in shape for picking out the first tree we saw.LOL Had help getting it into the Escape, was a challenge getting it into the house and in the base though. Santa Warren was able to steady the top of the tree a bit for me while I screwed in the base. All 4 furries have checked it out and given their approval.
Santa Warren is having a blast reading and seeing the pics of what everyone is getting.I don't take or post pics so you will all have to be content with my description unless my Santa wants to take pics before mailing.
Mailed my parcel Thurs with a tracking number. I see it has already crossed the border - did so yesterday. At least Canada Post no longer has it in their hands.Post Mistress told me it is supposed to take 4 business days.
Santa Warren needs me so best get going. Think I will double dose him on his sleeprs tonight - have permission from Palliative Care doc to do so on occasion. He needs a rest from himself! LOL
Sweet dreams everyone! Make sure you do something nice for yourself today ladies!
Dianne
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready! Late shift has been busy! Mary, I agree with Debbie, if you step up and speak your opinion, she may hate it now, but later she will respect you for it! Sounds like she just needs more guidance.
Debbie, sure hope she had no accidents in the snow, did she get home OK with her stuff? Is she on meds for her OCD?
Dianne, so glad to hear Santa Warren helped steady the tree, maybe you can work on getting it decorated today?
We still need to get ours up and decorated. We bought it 2 weeks ago, and it still in the back yard. Been busy putting up motions lights and security cameras. Pretty sad when we have to do all this for our safety! The Sheriff's office told us there have been lots of thefts in the neighborhood, probably looking for small things to pawn for drug money!
Morning all!
Well I did say the tree was up but now I have to put the emphasis on WAS up as it is laying on the floor. I was just standing there looking at it thinking how full it was , turned my head and THUNK. All animals are accounted for so they were not the cause of the tree falling. Good thing we didn't get it decorated - what a mess that would have been. Once I have the lights on it I will tie fishing line around the trunk and anchor the tree to cup hooks I put in the moulding around the front window.
Going to try and catch a nap before the household wakes. Wish me luck!
Dianne
Morning all, it's a winte wonderland out there..been up quite some time, just enjoying the lights flickering on the tree, quietness of the street while sipping a coffee..now if Norm was here Barb, I'd already be drinking timmies..where is Norm wheni need him?
Oh no Dianne, say it isn't so...on the floor..how right you are about not having your decorations out..what a mess you would have ahead of you. Hoping Santa Warren has had a good night's rest..see you haven't by the time on your posts..mornimg nap will be in order. Hope you get the post office in tune..nothing like waiting for something and it never comes when it was there all along...I often worry when parcels do not arrive that perhaps recipient might think I didn't mail it and absconded with the funds. Lol, silly but is me. I believe it's only Laura who did not get her kit and I'm waiting anxiously.
Debbie, you sure have your hands full, wonder you have any hair left...too much drama for me. Lol. You know me and kids, spoil them like crazy but if they give me grief out they go..cold hearted I guess.
Mary, for fun you should go back in time in the threads, read some of your Christmas posts and see how very far you've come...hugs to you for keeping faith..step mothers are the best..not at all wicked. Lol
LindaKay, we were robbed once, police officer told us they likely would be back knowing insurance would cover all..2nd time around they would get new items for resale..all big ticket items..we were quite sure who it was but that didn't help police zbet out items back.
Well, made great headway yesterday, few more days like it and I'll be on easy street so best get a move on...goal is to finish at least one quilt, wrap pressies, go into town for oasis and specialty greenery for making arrangements tomorrow..groceries just to name a few..now why can't all stores open about 5a.m.??
Sorry to hear about your tree Dianne, we tie ours with fishing line to.
Betty, we have store ope 24 hours for food. Walmart is open 24 hours also!
yes, wish others would follow suit at Christmas lol
all I need is not in Walmart..do need thread though so could drop in for that
you may not believe this but I bet I've 50.00 invested in thread in these 3 quilts and still need more..
remind me to never undertake these kinds of projects in 3's again
Good Morning!
Yep, it's me, bright and way too early, lol. Yay, coffee is ready, have a cup.
LOL, Betty, I'll join, you sew and I bee watching, ROFLOL! Seriously, Wow, your quilt is splendid, and the mess aint bad eighther, hehehe.
Oh no, sorry the tree wnet kerplunk Dianne! Well, glad the furries were not the cause...We too, have learned to tie the tree. How thrilling, Santa Warren is having fun with his Christmas Swap!
oop, got to run, Jake has a wrestling Match, has to be at school in 15 minutes!!
Be back in a few.
Well, waited long enough that it's a blizzard out there..will be quick ride into town and back..maybe the snow storm will keep shoppers home this morning!
Omg Judy, you are just too funny..
Can't have a week without something about my mom..she cross stitched another quilt, queen size I think..Sharon has hers on quilting frame, ain't Muriel thinks its too much for her which it is...in the spring mom gave me the top and the lining to have the women who quilted my cross stitch do hers.. They called, $300 which I think is reasonable when you look at amount of quilting..anyway she said my sister in law Kim really didn't want it so why on earth did she have it done?? Disappointed its done, not because of $$$' just because..told her then to leave it with that group and they would have a draw to raise funds with.. She said she would think about it ..so not sure how she will pick it up..who knows if nice weather tomorrow she and Jim might drop in on way back from cottage
Ooh look at the time
Wish Jake luck Judy on his match
Just a quick "Good morning" as I am about to run out the door with DH. Starting a bit of Christmas shopping and food shopping.
Enjoy your day....I had toast with HONEY on it, omgosh so good! Running out the door with my travel mug so be back later!
Waving to all....
Debbie
Betty - I must tell you this. You KNOW how Norm is about our morning coffee right???? Well Thursday morning we woke up to no power. This is the first time since we have lived here that it failed. It was chilly here in the house and now that I'm on the oxygen 24/7 he was getting concerned about using up all the battery. Anyway, we can plug the air machine into the car for traveling and it recharges the battery. So we go off in the car to warm up and go find an open place to get some coffee. It's been over an hour since we got up and we both want it NOW!!!!
We drove through FOUR towns before we found power on again!!! - and thank heaven there was a Dunkin Donuts right there. What a business they were doing!! It seems a main feeder line went down in high winds and knocked out power to seven towns!!!! But we got our coffee!!!!!
YAYYYYYY I am online again!!!! (Hubby was finally able to fix!!!)
OMG I was getting antsy to get back online, BECAUSE I received my gift!!!
THANK YOU sooooooo much Mary for the great gifts!!!
Mary...I wish you could have been there when I opened the parcel...I was like a little kid at Christmas morning. Actually it reminded me of the days when my dear Mom would send me a Christmas Care Package from home (Germany) with all the goodies inside. I got all teary eyed as some of the things you send me I can only get when I go home to visit.
Guess you are all wondering what it was that Mary send me...so here is the first picture of my "German Goodies"... Ohhhhhh yesssss German Chocolate, GummiBears, Lebkuchen (Gingerbread Cookies), Cinnemon Almonds (only get those at ChristmasTime) and a beautiful Christmas Tin filled with Chocolade (perfect to store my crochet hooks in after I eat all the goodness).
Bigggggggggg hug and thank you Mary
and this one made me grin from ear to ear...My DH was in the Living room while I opened up my gift, soooooooooo I put the t-shirt on and stood in front of him...LOL...at first he had NO clue what I wanted from him...I pointed to the shirt and told him to read...LOL...we both laughed so hard and of course I got my KISS!!!
OMG Mary what a great gift and I definatly will wear that shirt often!! lol
My daughter and my son already eyed the shirt and I can see that they might want borrow it one day...lol
As for the Chocolates I will share with the Family, the kids really miss having their Care Package from their Oma (grandma), so your gift, Mary made our day!!!
Thank you for your thoughtful gift and God Bless and wish you a wonderful Christmas as well!!!
#$!#$! forgot the picture...see next post...lol
Love and many Hugs
Thea
Haven`t had time to read all the posts that I have missed, have to run Hubby is waiting to help me to get the rest of the house decorated.

Betty, your not the only one with a messy craft room, sometimes I have fabric all over the counter, floor, table... So easy to mess up, and longer to clean!
Thea, glad you got your pressies from Mary! Sounds like she knows you have a sweet tooth for goodies from back home!
Judy, lots of luck for Jake.
Barb, hope you have your power back on! Glad you found some hot coffee.
Debbie, hope your not running too fast, you may slip on that snow!

latest "guess" in the 20 questions game re: soldier boy is the 16th or 17th !!!!!!
Sailor got his time off !! :) going to go to Soldiers house on the 20th :) (sure hope he is there) spend an over night, then come here. Has to return for the 3rd Jan. and graduates this class on the 13th HOORAH finals are on the 19th, he says it will be a very intense test. but I know he will do great!
voice is squeaky today trying to come back :) nice thing about not being able to talk at work.....don't have to answer phone, some one else has to.....yup that is nice!!
hubs surgery is scheduled for the 24th Jan. and I found out I can use my sick days to take time off. so I need to put in for that when I go in today...nice that I don't have to use up my vacation days... I have tons of sick days... I will take a week off, and if he still need help after that, his insurance will cover a visiting nurse...
Betty your quilt looks fantastic, and your room is not half as messy as mine is right now.
well I got to go do a bit of stitchin' before I have to go to work...this little Santa's helper has lots and lots to do still :)
Y'all have a great day
Ok, I'm Back and so smiling over your Christmas gifts!!
Got to laugh at myself, I've discovered stamping!!! Every year I've been trying something new and different...I have searching for something at Michaels, when i found this particular one, OMG, snap my fingers, dancing in the isle with a great big smile, can't believe this is just too perfect!! So started the third phase of my project...my hands are full of ink, Finished 10 out of 20, I am right on target, I think..not sure I'll make it to the post office in time, got to wait for everything to dry, So first thing Monday morning, Post office here I come
And while i was out running around, bought my first 2 gifts, Holy Elves, this one is on a roll...
Thank you for good wishes on Wrestling!! Mary, lol it has just begun. We'll not be traveling anywhere until Feb...Hopefully to State Meet. But so far my boy has been undefeated!! Last night he had one match, pinned the kid in less than a minute, meet over! Today, they are in a couple of towns over, so a waiting game, he'll be second to last...OMG, had to throw his stuff in washer last night, fell asleep, awoke with such a startle at 4 A.M. so dashed down stairs to toss in dryer!! LOL, low and behold, he threw it in last night and had Breenie fold it all when done!! So, Ive been up and around since then, finished a pot of coffee, worked on project and now taking a break, need steady hands and mine are full of caffine...So how 'bout some breakfast to equalize..Can offer English muffins with Jelly!
...I am so Happy things are so much better wit the SD's.
My goodness you did great with all the German goodies for Thea!! So smiling and sending you a Kiss, smooch, smooch...Thea! LOL, even Birdie said gimme a kiss, with kissie sounds!!
Susan, sending Armwraps and Prayers...Hope everything works out at the job front, will keep my fingers crossed you'll be hired on full time.
Debbie, I am sending cautious vibes for your outing, you just take it slow and happy shopping! OH, your dd will be so happy with birthday gift!! Just got my Julia's yesterday too...Since she has been doing the scrap booking, got her a paper cutter, little giggle, plus then i can use it too! Her birthday is Monday, ack turning 22!! Oh my goodness, sure hope the weekend won't be overboard on the breakup drama, bummer about that. These young people sure break up over silly things, but maybe they will be back together by time weekend is over...I've been thinking about you, sounds like you trying to get used to the empty nest! Our nest isn't empty, but with all their running, I rarely see them, so boohooo, feel lonely all the time even with a full house...Just think though, you'll have time to do stuff you want to do! I was at Walgreens yesterday and saw the Charlie Brown Tree, how cute!!! Hope you enjoy yours!
Betty, Yikes, i hope your trip into town is good...be careful!! You had mentioned about all the thread, yikes sure can believe the amount used...
oops, DH just got up, lol, got to make more coffee!! be back again in a bit.
Hi y'all!
Well, you'll never believe it ...
I have another Christmas angel!
Remember the other day when I broke my ornament from Betty?
Well, this morning I received a package, but I wasn't expecting anything ... It was from our very own Barb. Now guess what was inside?
A beautiful hand painted Christmas ornament!!!
Now you see why I have another Christmas angel ...
☺
Thank you, Barb! You've been going through so much, and yet you thought of me ... It made me cry!
Didn't mean to make you cry Suse!!! Betty had given me a set of four when I was at her home last summer. When I read that you broke yours, I asked her if it would be okay to send you one. She is going to make me another after the holidays. I just wanted you to have a special ornament from Betty again. I'm so glad you like it. Hugs to you my friend. Barb
Back from town and none too soon..Blizzard conditions and it's just about to turn to sleet..talk about slippery..Andrew who plows for me was just coming to plow me out when I was leaving, got to tell you if it keep up he'll be back tonight..township has done the main roads twice so far today.
If it continue not sure Linda and her girlfriend will come in the morning but just incase I went and bought wet oasis for florals, candle and candle holders..ordered more wood for candles, wrapping paper and tape, everyone was at the grocery store so decided I could wait until tomorrow for groceries.
Greg's Christmas party tonight, said they might drop in on their way out..imagine both Greg and Kyle have tried their snowmachines today. Gabbed with Noah, he has his cast off and already playing goalie, shaking my head, kids heal so quickly.
Ahhh, Barb is indeed special..always thinking of others..we are blessed here on the thread, everyone always thinking of the other..must thank the Lord for that blessing!
You are always into something new Judy lol as I shake my head..going to call you Mrs.Crafter..wasn't that many years ago you were terrified to try any craft now look at you, sewing, painting, beading and now stamping, who would have thunk it right? lol Too funny, buying gifts so you can use them..smart lady
Thunder, wish you lived closer, Jeff downloads about 1,000 books on all our readers..we give him what authors we like to read and voila..instant library..told me not to come back to him until I've read everything..now have same books on sony reader, ipad and laptop, just have to find time to read now..new years resolution; you will indeed love it..
Am so praying Thunder that your entire family will be on USA soil this Christmas..best Christmas gift ever for you all.
omg THEA, you hit paydirt, where oh where did our MARY manage to get so many german treats..and that t-shirt, lol..the best! I can see you smile from here.Amazing isn't it how well we know our DG friends...if you asked me to get something special for my sister I'd spend the day thinking, give me one of your names and likely would know in a sec.
Barb, when is Sean coming back to work on your project..was bursting out laughing at your coffee story..now that's being addicted to coffee lol ha/ha/ha I had a timmies and a dutchie while in town..bet your mouth is watering! Meant to say, loved that poem and copied it as well.
LindaKay, can't believe there are many more of your craft rooms looking as bad..stopped for an hour and cleaned a bit..cannot work in such a mess. Besides, can't have company come tomorrow for crafts and do florals and not a table to work on.
Hope Debbie is not power shopping and comes back home in pain...tired ok but not pain..am sure Paul will keep her under control
Deep sigh, time to get back to work, keep thinking its supper time, guess no lunch tends to make your tummy say 'I'm hungry' so off to get something..
still too early to stop working, but it's not too late to have a bit of a rest..
energy level starting to fade
Oh Thea - what a wonderful present!!!. Mary certainly put a lot of thought into it. And The book too!!! I must go and see if I can download it so I can read along.
Thunder how wonderful that your son may be home so soon. It will be great for the brothers to be together I'm sure.....
Judy, are you scrapbooking or stamping on the scrapbooking or stamping on all kinds of things????I love how you jump in with both feet to try new things. Congrats to Jake and Norm says Hi too.
You would NOT want to see my sewing room right now. It is a total disaster. BUT most of my gifts have been handmade this year and I'm almost done!!!! I'll clean it after......
Oh Betty, you do know me too well. DH Put the brakes on me and said "thats enough....we are going home or your going to drop." I did way too much...but mentally feel better to have some things out of the way. We walked 3/4 of a big mall...my doing...just so wanted to see decorations. Got all the kids Pj sets. Glove & scarf sets for the girls. Then the older two girls we went to Barnes & Noble and got them Nook readers. They can put it on one account and share their books with each other.
We went to lunch at Dennys....he gave me the choice of Cracker Barrel in Rochester, but honest, was not up to that drive & traffic over on other side of the city. That right there tells you how tired I was! Last time I been...was when I was with Betty...so almost a year!
Then after lunch we did Sams club.....and thats when he put the breaks on. I am ready for a nap.....and heating pad!
Have so loved all your gifts. Barb, that was such a wonderful thing you did for Suse....I know that meant so much to her.
Ok, he is scolding.....gotta get to the couch.
Be back in a bit
Debbie
BARB!!! I got your box this morning!! Everything is wrapped, can I unwrap it all or do you want me to wait until Christmas????
Omg Crissy, could you wait that long?? Lol. I'd have it torn open by now...
Debbie, it's a good 'tired' for sure..tomorrow rest as much as you can...they will love the readers. As soon as you are well enough, sturdy on your feet, I'll meet and take you to cracker barrel and we shall gab up a storm
Crissy, we all tore into ours, please don't make us wait??? LOL!
Crissy go ahead and open it - Merry almost Christmas.......Barb
Ok, I'll open them all!!
Thank you, again, Barb and Betty. It was a very sweet thing you both did to surprise me. I sure didn't expect that ...
Debbie, I'm so glad you had a good day, even if you're tired. ☺
Dianne, hope you've been able to get the tree decorated. Here's hoping Our Santa Warren got some rest last night. How are the fur children doing?
Mary, I think I can download one of those books about southern gardening. ☺ Glad you and your family are growing together. I'm not much in to those tatoos. LOL Back when I was typing for the Sheriff's Dept, I had to type some discriptions that were pretty strange. I must say, I got an education. ☺
Congrats to everyone getting their presents today! Isn't this so much fun! Mary, you did a wonderful job ...Waiting to see Crissy's.
Katie, good to see you today. So glad you have Tony. Hope you're feeling better.
Thunder, yea on your soldier! Also, yea on your new Kindle. I'm sending prayers to your DH for his surgery and a quick recovery. Glad you can take your sick time and be with him ...
I have most of my shopping done now!! Woohoo ... just a couple of gift cards left. ☺ What did we ever do before Amazon?
Okay, off to let Moses out. Will BBL.
