Wow - I actually thought for a bit that I might like to try that.... I mean ... if I could take the kids old clothes like Grandma did and make it special for them? Going back to watch the second video... next.....
Thanks for your thoughts on the sewing kit for DSD... She always borrows my sewing kit (which is really dusty) and she likes to make things from time to time.... Last year for Christmas I got her a book "100 things to do with an old T Shirt" and she loved it....

Mary, do you have a sewing machine? Those rag quilts are so easy to do! Just make sure you purchase a good pair of scissors made for rag quilts, they have a spring in the handle, and make it so much easier to do! You can get them at any fabric store or wal mart. You can do this! I dare you!!!!

Here I is, here I is. Things have been a little hectic here and I seem to be not so good at balancing everything as I used to be.

You all are going to turn me back into a sewer yet! I'll watch the video tomorrow, probably going to really regret giving my sewing machine away but I hadn't touched it in years. Loved the lap quilts you all have been doing. Okay Mary maybe you and I can start this sewing together in the new year. I figure by the time I am 100 I will be good enough to make something to give away.

Really enjoying seeing what everyone is getting in their Christmas swap. Santa Warren is very interested and intruiged by the lap quilts, Some very talented people here I must say. Suse I am surprised that Thea didn't send you a"Beavertail" Yum!!

My sweet baby girl Quill is holding her own.... she even seemed a bit more alert today. Our vet is going to stop by sometime tomorrow to see her and have a visit.Still get up every couple of hours all night to check on her.

Wish I could say the same for Santa Warren. I have a strong feeling we will be making a quick run into the CC on Fri rather than waiting to see his Palliative Care doc on Dec. 23.

Has been dull, gray days here, not so wonderful for uplifting my spirits.Although on the bright side we are very close to the shortest day of the year and after Dec 21 the days will start to get longer again.

OH LK ! The Pressure is ON! Of COURSE I do not have a sewing machine... wonder what happened to Mom's... she had "State of the Art".... Bernina? (*state of the art for the time) You dare me ! Okay the dare is ON...but give me a YEAR.... let me 'ease' into this... I'll have to get a sewing machine...
So funny all the times ya'll telling me you are sewing... I'm picturing you all with a needle & thread...

I had to laugh Mary, I sat and watched that entire video also....and am thinking of all the clothes i have up in the attic I had to save from when the kids were little! lol I do have TWO sewing machines....mine...and one that was my Moms. Like I said, I can sew a square....so this might be dooable!

I am not supposed to be sitting at the compter for long periods...as it makes my legs stiffen and numb...and that whole "clot" issue. BUt there is nothing I can do but play on the computer.

Your "you seem different" is so true...but I wish I could explain it...just teared up thinking about it. I have so much to be greatful for....but I feel totally lost. The kids are pretty much gone all the time, so I am home alone. DS helps now and then...if I ask. "The Child" not so much. Maybe the first week she did...but not sense. Asked her to go get the mail for me the other day and she said "Put your big girl pants on and do it Mom, you gotta do it one day." Then her "oh I was just joking". I just dropped inside. She isn't a nice person.

I had to laugh, I dont' walk well in snow before this happened....ask DH about having to take rose bush thorns out of my backside several years ago....OUCH.

Well, bed time....I have to get DS up at 5:15 tomorrow....just make sure his alarms did the job...not really get him up. My sanity...and doing...not his asking.

A storm came through last night and the temps have dropped to the 30's.

Morning all, Running late..trying to find a pair of shorts I didn't put away with summer clothes..appt is this afternoon and need them

snow plow just went by, I didn't look out to see what will greet me, guess snow to clear from vehicle

Had a blizzard going on coming in this morning..not nice! omg you should have seen me..all week I've been watching this big limb on the side of the road - pine with cones, fallen in last storm so here I am in a blizzard with my cutters, cutting branches and stuffing in my car..no wonder I was 15 minutes late..blammed it on the storm..lol

LindaKay how is Heather doing today? I know if they put her on magnesium (?) to stop labor, she is NOT happy. That stuff is nasty with side effects, but usually works.

They gave her a shot of progesterone, and that seems to have worked so far, but she is still in the hospital waiting on them to get one more test... fetal fibronectin test to see if she is in preterm labor or if its going to happen in the next 2 weeks...

Hi Everyone, My hand is still mending so thius won;t be long. Also, I'm in town. new puter battery must come from Hang Kong so it will be a while. I will check in once or twice a week. I need to keep up with all of you. You all mean so much to me. Love the stories of meltdown, apologies and thank/yous. Sure glad I have found a group that undrestands how to keep peace in our parts of the world.

i've had a three day meltdown. don't know if it was something i ate, flu, Christmas blues, or what. one blessing tony is that |I can just go with the lack of energy. I was not really depressed just very low energy and not very present if you know what i mean. I mostly stayed in bed and watched videos, knowing Tony is there makes such a difference. He stays steady and also knows that it will pass. My angel..

I have rented more videos. Will finish shopping and spend the afternoon doing stufrfed animal cleaning and repair. I do my Santa rounds Christmas morning when, unfortuneately, may mexican parents are hung over. The kids know to watch for me.

Had a good visit with my Mexican friend Yolanda this morning. She has a restaurant near me but we don't see each other too often as it's hard for me to walk. I took her some lemons. We talked about plants and seeds but mostly shared how much we love each other.

Am taking a bag of lemons for my friend Saul's stores Then home for |Christmas work. Also getting patterns for rag flower quilts copied to share with tony's family.

Hard to use this unfamiliar computer.

Hi all - not feeling better. Went to the bank yesterday, unnecessarily. Seems both Bob & I have to be there to get the forms filled out, etc.
I worked on the fleece quilt for the baby "cry room" at church and finished the 2nd one last night (forgot to take a pic, sorry) and decided to deliver them both this am during our Bible Study. I stayed for it, and there was a lot of spirited discussion, so now my chest hurts from lack of breath re: bronchitis..... ah well

Blessed me - I dropped my car keys beside my car and after 2 hours in the church they were still there - dark blue against the snow. God watches out for me, surely.

Back to work but for a few minutes ago..my appt was 11:45 and it was 3:00pm when he saw me..nurse took me in about 2:00 to do the questionaire, said I'd be 5 minutes..right!!! poor old man was sitting in a chair when I got there..his appt was 9:15, had the minutes added up..he was in the chair in waiting room for 197 minutes..

First clue is the large sign saying ' no unruly behavior or being unpleasant with ' then another sign explaining that they take special care with patients, no rushing and that when your turn they will do same'

NOT GOOD..

What he says is that I either contracted a virus OR am fighting a virus..going to book a day of blood, xray's and other for me next week some time..Linda and Suzanne asked if I told them about spider bite..did not..such a silly thing to be telling him about..maybe I should have.

good grief Betty - you may indeed be still fighting that spider bite...... strange, but true!

Mom on the weekend when I said my blood was high iron content reminded me that my brother Bernie had high iron, couldn't work, in too much pain and had to go get blood taken out..he'll be home tomorrow, I'll call him just to pick his brain!

call the Dr's office tomorrow and tell them about the bite, he may want to do some different tests....
My Momma was sick on and off with some strange symptoms...eventually they figured out she was bit by a tick !!! and had that Lyme disease :( she had to take a bunch of meds for quite awhile, and then finally all her symptoms went away !! I believe strange aches and pains were part of her symptoms.

well it was very cold here this mornin' I don't know what the temps were, but I do know I can not talk !!! when ever it gets cold..my voice disappears :( it usually lasts for a few days, hoarse and scratchy sounding. Most of the day I could barely whisper.
