30 and cloudy. dusting of snow this am, I think that's all we're going to get for Christmas.

35, just returned from walking the dog 2 miles before the rain started.

Sunny and 40 here....heading to 45.....another glorious day!

36° & sunny. Rain predited for Tues night. I'm glad that the Maine snow didn't come this far south. My brother in NM had snow. They almost never get any of that stuff.

I'm OK with winter weather holding off (mostly) until after the solstice, when we know things are getting better again. But when is it OK to put out mulch? Shouldn't there be some point when the ground stays frozen for more than 12 hours at a time, so I can protect my perennials from thawing and refreezing?

Managed to hang out a load of clothes today...the wind dried them in no time....DawnSharon, I don't know when the ground will stay frozen....when it does, then you can mulch...or you can mulch now & hope for the best.....
