Nice memory.
All things holiday
How wonderful! I have one of our performances on tape....can it be made into a CD?
Yes.
Would I have to find a special company? What would I look for in the phone book?
That is lovely, Rosemary!
Sounds like a good idea to do, Marilyn.
Victor, that sounds like a very special concert! Is your church large? I'm guessing it must be! Great way to get into the Christmas spirit!
Not really, Louise. The entire altar area was packed with the choir and orchestra.
Sounds wonderful!
Nice to have a live orchestra with a choir, don't see that too much in churches anymore.
They did a cool version of the Bing Crosby & David Bowie Little Drummwr Boy / Peace on Earth. Also did a real nice version of Away in the Manger, interspersed with a reading about the impact of the life of one little child.
We've gotten the idea from here to look in the local papers for the announcement from each school and church for their Christmas programs. We've also gotten tickets to a local theater group's Christmas program. So far these productions have made the season feel much more spiritual than the shopping and decorating does.
Anyone looking for an inexpensive gift
amazon.com has the 2 disc anniversary addition of Wizard of Oz REALLY cheap
Thanks.
These are always good for kids. Pays to check this site regularly.

Received a Christmas card and a $10 gift certificate from a photo website I buy from. Very nice!
I'm so proud of my son....when his house was built, he designed the fireplaces, but never had the time to finish off the surroundings...he just had vertical boards up....well, in the last month, he designed, built, installed & painted the one in his living room....his wife decorated it for Christmas...now he's working on the one in his kitchen.....
Beautiful!
Thanks...he worked like a dog....
Pretty
Very pretty!!!!
Gorgeous!
that is nice - nothing like red brick and granite!
The fireplace in the kitchen is the same brick & granite, but he's doing a different mantel, and niche boxes above it...also the color in the kitchen area is blue-green....I'll get a photo when he's done....Garret's been called in to sub in the vo-ag dept of their high school for the third time, so hopefully he'll have the money (if not the time) to finish!
baked 3 batches of cookies today. DH made the cutout dough last night and plans to bake those tomorrow.
Will it help that your helper is now home?
Wow, Marilyn! What a great design and beautiful finish work! You SHOULD be very proud. He's very talented.
This is a cool idea

helper will be helping tonight. At least she won't be bored!
Thanks, Louise...wish it was more than just a hobby for him.....
Finally have my tree! Will decorate it tomorrow. Very nice. Was almost 9 ft. Had to trim. Have an 8 ft ceiling. $55 - not bad. Very full Frasier.
PBS has Nutcracker Suite on at 8pm EST for those who are interested. That is tonight. (Live from Lincoln Center).
Frasier firs are very nice!.
I like the Nutcracker, too.
Tree is up, not decorated yet...but the house smells good!!!
We still don't have the family tree
Frasiers small great!
My little guy just asked (on the phone) his Jewish friend if he had a Christmas tree up yet!
Glad everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit!
MMMM
My house smells like snicker doodles!
TV threw a curve, no Nutcracker although scheduled. I wonder if Boston ballet interferred. I was disappointed.
There are still many good people out there.

Thanks for the heads up on the NYC Ballet's performance of Nutcracker. I thought that it was excellent!
How come all these generous folks are out in the midwest? It would be nice to see stories like that take place here as well.......
