A, hopefully the hardest part is over which is school. Problem with careers, like guys, you have to dig thru a lot of frogs to find that prince, but the more you search, the better your odds of finding it are. Course most of us have/had to swim with the frogs to survive in order to find that prince and sometimes you find out your idea of the prince is not rational...rofl.
Boy Tammie, I hope they get your hiccup in the unemployment figured out....good grief!
I came home to the sweetest smell last night! The house was perfumed and smelling like summer (artifical tree so no pine smell there) the brugs are putting on a show....holey cow!
She's about to...6... Fall is here!
Bet it smells wonderful in your place with all those Beautiful blooms!
Ha ha - thanks Happ. I've been treading water for a while now. No frogs in sight. School not quite finished yet - something lacking in the motivation department where my thesis is concerned. Will keep you posted!
Hope you all enjoyed a lovely day - it's supposed to be over 60 deg tomorrow and almost 70 on Thursday! I stopped talking about how crazy the weather is and just enjoying what I've got. ;)
A.
Well A, let us motivate you, too close to slow down now.....come on, get with it....What is your thesis on?
Yeah temps here are suppose to be in high 50's here! It rained all night, temps are already 50 and it is humid, feels like late spring actually instead of Christmas fast on our heels. We have been cloudy for days, I need a little sunshine, solar battery is running down!
Hope it is warm when I get off work so I can move some plants from the solar room to the garden room. Running out of room everywhere...LOL
Happ, I think we have the same weather! Cloudy, 100% humidity, light drizzly rain. Right now it is 59. Everything is so muddy.
Where is everyone! Hope your all just busy with Christmas stuff, and not sick. We do worry when we don't hear from you!
rofl...well Linda Kay, for your sake I hope you don't keep having our weather....rofl. This is a fleeting moment for us...;)
Pushing 70 tomorrow is just plain crazy around here for mid-December, but I'm sure not complaining.
well, almost balmy here today. college girl and older sister have blanketed the house with xmas stuff, came home to them singing and listening to christmas cd, while Joe sat in his recliner trying to watch his tv show in closed captioning..
Girls wanted new stuff this year, I told them if they want new stuff to go out and buy it cuz I am not.. they come over and decorate, I put it all away..
I need to get in gear and get my tree up!
Been warm here today too, it got up to 70, but humidity is still 98%! Sure would be nice to see that sun shine for a bit!
I thought if there's enough time when my SIL is here and splits her time between our house my MIL's, she could help decorate our tree (it's still in the box!) or we could put together a puzzle, which has been one of our very favorite pastimes for years any time we're together. Does anybody else like to work puzzles? It's funny in an odd sorta way while we're searching for just the right piece of the puzzle how many memories and recollections we dredge up.
I like to do puzzles. It has been awhile since I have done any, but I got one in a swap a few weeks ago, and I think I will get it out and have the Garndkids help me do it this week end.
morning all, came home to college girl and her older sister Rose, singing Christmas music and blanketing the house with christmas. Poor Joe in his chair, with the mute on and CC on his TV. LOL
We are getting a live tree as usual this weekend , and we HAVE to go to a fancy dancy dress up party at my work at some fancy dancy place, Joe had to go buy new slacks as we havn't gotten DRESSED up in years and his waist has changed an inch. Geez. I have noclue what I am going to wear, guess tonight I will try on the antiques in the basement closet.
Hope all of you have a blessed day..
I will wait out spring sorting seeds I am sure, since I had to shut it all down and tuck all the boxes and sacks of seeds away for the holidays.
Debra, we don't get dressed up either, if we got an invite we would both have to go shopping! Most parties around here are very casual, with jeans, and a nice shirt!
Oh Debra this must really be dress up because I have seen you at work and you looked very dressy and very nice, in heels and all. Post pic I would love to see you and Joe. Wondered where you had been, glad to see you post or maybe I have just missed you.
Lots of you have family in which is so much fun. Puzzles are alot of fun, relaxing, no winners or losers, just quiet time. Since I like doing genealogy I love to get out the old photos and turn on a tape recorder or the video camera and record everything. People forget the recorders are on and start telling stories I could never remember it all, but on tape it lets me transfer to something permanet like paper...rofl.
Rainy and warm yesterday, sunny and cold today....huh? Doesn't make much sense does it...rofl.
Awww Froot - yeah we used to do puzzles. Mom had a folding table set up in the living room. There were one or two puzzles she liked so much we were going to frame . . . wonder what ever happened to them. Well one of these days soon I am going to find out.
Maybe in the spring I can recruit a bunch of DG ladies to come to help me clean out all the goodies in my mom's house. Who else would appreciate all of her tiny trinkets and help me sort the wheat from the chaff?!
I have to say I always loved her and honored my mother, despite our difficult relationship. As time passes I am able to remember more of the good stuff. She was so wonderful. My father's death and then my oldest brother from cancer - well I guess that would squeeze the happiness out of Scrooge himself.
God bless us. Everyone.
A.
Joyce, I am sure there will be pictures.. it is at the Terradyne Country Club. All the young things are getting blinged and glammed up, Joe and I are going to look like a hand in a glove.. perfect fit.
All my elders are gone, and this is the first Christmas without our darling Duke Dog, which keeps making sad moments here.. but we still have the kids, even tho they are adults, they turn into kids at this time of the year when they get together. We will get to see Mike and Paula, and that will be good.
Sister and neice will not be here this year.
A. I had the same deal with my own mom.. just was getting to get re acquainted with her and develop a relation ship and that was the fastest ten years of my life and then she was gone. Sometimes, tho, I hear her say my name as I drowse while driving. that is weird.
Amanda, you are right, we never know what formed our parents into the people they became. I know with my Mom I wish her Grandchildren could remember her when she was healthy, happy, and so funny, but that is not what they know. I wish I knew what she was like as a teenager, and growing up and my Grandparents, were they nice? I know as a grown up I was shocked to hear my nephew describe me....he in turn was surprised when my sisters started telling stories on me when I was a teenager, which I am NOT going to repeat here...rofl. Life does have a way of molding us....
