Great shots everyone! Love the babblers and tattlers -- all of you! Oh and let's not forget the gobblers! Duc, nice one of that sharp-shinned and love the purple finch -- all great. Burd, those gull shots are gorgeous.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

OMG! There's an indigo bunting in the yard. Too dark to take pics. Darn it!

Geez, I love everyone's postings. But especially of Elphaba's self-portrait. Tehehehehe, Happy Halloween to one and all.

Beautiful foliage on the lake, lily. We are leaving for the mountains of SE OK tomorrow on a little fall foliage tour.

Good action shots, burd.

I finally got a few birds in the yard this a.m. Had 4 juncos, a White-crowned and Savanna Sparrow and 4 bluebirds on the patio. Didn't take any pics so I'll just post one of a MS Kite from the summer. Long gone now.

Nanny, loved seeing your sweet little wren. They sure are more colorful compared to our Bewick's wrens.

Burd, super photos. Loved the Bonaparte's especially. I went looking for some here, but missed them thanks to a bass tournament going on.

Elphaba, hope you'll see more of the Indigo. Cute dove shot.

Lily, your decorated dock is beautiful. Loved the fall colors in the trees too.

Red, that kite is gorgeous!

Here's a Northern Flicker enjoying the berries.

Duc, love, love that pic. of the WCS and the Dark-eyed Junco. I meant to say the Jay that was 'grooming' the deer is priceless! I've been anticipating seeing Yellowbellied Sapsuckers in the garden for years, I've seen their 'trade marks' little holes drilled on tree trunks, especially that of Sweet gums. Finally my wishes came true. Today I noticed a group of 3 or more traveling/foraging together. I was able to video a small clip of the two picking dogwood's berries. Here is the female with a berry in her beak;

Lovely. I have only seen their holes.

Norman, OK

Some good yard birds, duc. Lily, glad you are enjoying the sapsuckers.

Only pic I took today was one of the Blues Brothers that visit regularly.

Red, the sapsuckers are very active, they're constantly in the-go. lol. IrisMa, I must have seen them before, it's just now that I am able to differentiate them from other Woodpeckers. Here is a male Redbellied Wp. He always announce his arrival, calling, calling. But the Missus wasn't anywhere nearby. He however, has his fare share of the peanuts plus has brought some extra back to his roosting site somewhere in the woods.

White Breasted Nuthatches couple guarding their home should the weather turns bad unexpectedly. I saw them chased off a Chickadee or a Titmouse yesterday.

Here was a surprise! TWO types of woodpeckers. I felt like Nanny!

Very nice find there Mrs. Ed. Watch out Nan, here comes your rivalry for the wp's crown. lol

Lakeview, OH

This tree is in my backyard, hopefully the northern flicker will make it his home for the winter, he was even on the regular seed feeder earlier, and of course there is the bird bath for him to drink out of. I guess good things come to those who wait!

Lily, glad your patience paid off and you got a picture of the sapsucker. You're so lucky to see them and the red-bellied.

Red nice shot of the crow.

Mrs Ed, great picture of the two wps-they're so pretty.

Teddy, glad you're enjoying the flicker too.

Here's my contribution as far as the wps-this female flicker was taking a break from eating berries.

Not to worry nanny, I will never have a Pileated at my feeder, so no way I can steel your title!

Marlton, NJ

Great shots everyone!

Loving the Kites, Woodpeckers, Gulls,Heron and Sparrows!

PERTH, Australia

Elphaba, that's such a fun shot, with the dove on the ? weather vane.

Duc, the Rusty Blackbird is so pretty. Nice shot. How's your hand coming along?

Congratulations on the two Woodpeckers, Mrs Ed. Don't you go getting title envy now, will you?

Nice series of shots, Burd. Especially like the immature Ring-bill Gull landing.

Sweet picture of the Nuthatch, Lily_love.

The Carolina Wren is lovely, nanny.

I hope you get to see lots of the Flicker, Teddy.

Nice turkeys, Red.

There's a hollow trunk in the big eucalyptus tree where I view the Ospreys from. A pair of Pink and Grey Galahs have nested there and this is their unfledged chick. We get young ones accompanying their parents and/or aunts and uncles to our place after they've fledged and their begging calls sound like a human baby crying. This one is much younger than those we get here and for the first time, a couple of days ago, I actually heard it singing, if singing is the correct term. I've never heard a Galah sing before.

Yup, Mrs. Ed, neither of us have Pileated wps to compete with Nan's tittle. Okay. I'll give. lol The Galah is so cute there Margaret. Red, I'd so love to see your Kite one of these days. And Duc, the Rusty Blackbird is quite handsome a bird. Ah, Margaret the Cormorants. I'll upload some pics. from today. Back soon.
