Thanks, Victor and Lucy! Boy, did we have the rain here! We had 5 inches+ in just a few hours yesterday..i'm afraid this storm is heading your way. This morning we walked the pups and headed for the river on our usual route, but when we got to the river, there was no road! The river had covered the esplanade, the street, and up into several of our friends' yards. We turned around and headed inland. In our front yard the rain ponded to cover the sidewalk and the drainage ditch and came up into our yard. It was something to see - almost like after a hurricane here. It was pretty soggy outside when we were working on eradicating the backyard jungle this afternoon, but there won't be signs of any water tomorrow.

I hope the field trips were fun and dry!

Thomaston, CT

Saw that there was a tornado in FL yesterday, Louise. Nasty weather....raw out there, but going up to 70 tomorrow.....

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Chilly here, new furnace being installed tomorrow, looks like just in time!
Should be much more efficient too.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Really, Marilyn?! I didn't know about it, but I'm not surprised. I just loaded some pics from early on in the storm. You can see how much water is filling up the drainage ditch around the mailboxes. It is usually all grass there. This was probably after only about 2 inches of the 5 we got.

Yes - crazy weather in FL. Chicago too.

Good luck with it, Deb!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Try to stay dry everyone.

Yeah did you see Chicago? they are expecting 20' waves tonight!!!!!!

Mid-Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5b)

Poured down rain all day yesterday. The official count was 1.36 inches. Checked the forecast for the rest of Oct and there's no freeze predicted through the end of the month. I still have marigolds, zinnias, roses, and lots of other things blooming in the yard. It's too muddy to go out and enjoy anything though. Maybe mother nature is giving me extra time to get out there and clean things up before the freeze starts.

South Hamilton, MA

55° rained throughout the night, but has stopped for now.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)
