Chocolate Basil? Is the 3rd time the charm?

Columbus, OH

I wonder if raccoons, opossums, and birds would be similarly frightened? If so, I'd like 100 CB's as well. Seeds are fine, I'll germinate them :)

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

I dunno Celene, better get plants....never know if Squatch might substitute bogus seeds...........

Squatch might want to have a chat with this young man.

That guy was way too ugly to pass for handsome Squatch

Everyone have a great Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving from the soggy woods of northern Kentucky!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone !!
From "Trudy" the wild turkey who's convinced Mj that she would rather be a pet....

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Trudy is a Cutie! She deserves the happiest Thanksgiving by being spared. :)
Happy turkey day to everyone else!

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

Yup, for some reason she doesn't hang with the big flock of wild turkeys that hang around the farm. At first we thought she couldn't fly or there was something else wrong with her, but we found out she could fly when my son saw her fly up into a tree to roost one night. She's much smaller than the other hen's. Anyway she never leaves the pastures when the other turkeys fly over the fence to venture off somewhere else. And she is "Off limits" when turkey season comes in.

Happy Potato Day, Trudy!

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

I'm getting ready to go outside and spread out corn for our wild turkeys' Thanksgiving dinner!

Ozone, AR(Zone 6a)

Glad the aforementioned turkeys made it safely thru The day. Hope everybody is now fat and sassy and had a great day.

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

How about fat and sleepy? lol

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

Fat "N" sleepy about desribes it. tooooooo many carbs. Now time to go run it off.................

Midland City, AL

I think Trudy may be the world's first genius turkey. I percieve a method to her apparent madness.
Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend. Did any brave souls go shopping today? ~N~

POTTSBORO, TX(Zone 7b)

An appeal to mjs and others:

If you see me running please shoot whatever is chasing me.

Ozone, AR(Zone 6a)

Vort of course we will! Miss Bear says she'll come and bodygaurd you.You are'nt dressed like a turkey are you?
Nadene, There is no way I'd even go into town today.I use to go to the mall on THE FRIDAY!!!!
One of the local TV stations is pushing shopping at local small stores.
I am so-o-o-o injoying decorating the house.I even get to decorate where we have group therapy.I feel so loved.
Have been reading about the beginning of the Christmas tree. Seems it started in the Alsace part of France,Germany (Where my ancestors came from)My love of decorating has to be genetic. I bet we even decorated our caves way back when.LOL

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

Vort .....????? What did you do now ??????

Columbus, OH

I am tinkering with CB holiday recipes. Maybe chocolate basil fudge. Or CB brownies, those could be mistaken for something else, though the comparison would be disappointing, lol. Mmmmmm. It'll be the next sweet/savory sensation, like sea salt caramel.

SE/Gulf Coast Plains, AL(Zone 8b)

Think someone's T'day dinner escaped and took a shine to Vort? These things happen when you hang out with sasquatches, I guess.
I had some of the other brownies back in the 60's. I could do a taste comparison. I suspect Vort's experience might be more recent though. k*

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Did anyone see the turkey chasing and attacking a news reporter in Sacramento? LOL I used to live there, and I never saw any wild turkeys.
Disappointing CB brownies, LOL!
I worked a twelve hour day yesterday, which I'd much rather do that get caught up in those crazy sales. I'm soooo happy I don't work in retail now! It was really strange driving past the mall at 7:15am and see the parking lot packed.

POTTSBORO, TX(Zone 7b)

Kay--how dare you make insinuations with no basis in fact.

Update:

Ms. Bear has been pressing for child support so poor Chef Squatch had to take a job in this joint up the road.
Business has tripled.
Might have something to do with his CB brownies based on a 1960's recipe.

Yeah, Vort, Kay is jumping to conclusions. it's not paranoia when something is really after you. I've seen the movie "Thankskilling" and know how frightening a turkey can be. You have presented such clear photographic evidence, it is obvious you are not suffering from hallucinations. Squatch, Lock Nestle and chocolate basil are real! The fact you did not go shopping on Black Friday is a sure sign of mental competence. (You didn't, did you?) Jim

POTTSBORO, TX(Zone 7b)

URRRRR--UMMMM-RRR-AHHHH
What was that Jim?
I cannot hear you :)

Ozone, AR(Zone 6a)

Miss Bear said she saw him in line using pepper sprey to get to first place. I'd like to know where you got the pepper sprey. That stuff could come in handy.NEVER use it on bears tho. It make them high.

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

"Loch Nestle" LOL Never heard of that one. If I saw a lake of chocolate, I'd become a legendary monster and dive right in!

When ya get a chance, Vort, can we backwoods dialuppers have a new thread, please? Thanks!
