Debbie that is so strange....just this morning he asked that I drive him to school.

Susan one of the requirements is that we volunteer 25 hours a school year. I was there last year 3 or 4 days a week.
I try to stay in the background and not in the classroom. But there.
Went and bought a Passion flower. Did not think it would bloom but........

This is just so cool and the scent is just amazing.

Laura that is beautiful!!! Son must be having difficulties on the bus if he is excited about going to school but NOT riding bus...very interesting about the volunteer requirement..don't have anything like that here..

We do however, in order for a high school youth to graduate they must have completed I believe 40 or so hours as a volunteer in any field, without documentation they cannot get their degree

wow my back is paining..

2more sleeps and we hit the road. 4 more sleeps and I'm at Betty's!!! Watching Sean today so I'm off to get him......be back later...

Laura - B E A Utiful flower!! 25 hours a Year?! That's not much, but couldn't you volunteer to be on the bus (do they have bus monitors now-a-days?) If it's the bus, then maybe someone's bullying him.........
Betty - I gather you're at the office and don't have pain meds, but isn't there a pharmacy in the mall you work in?
Barb - I'm soooooo jealous! We can't afford me to go to Betty's but I Will be thinking of you, and know that I'm there is spirit, giving you Both hugs (gentle ones, considering Betty's poor back!)

What did you do to your back Betty?

Nothing really, just very painful on the back side..think it was all the sitting while travelling to Chicago in 4 days, am sure it's a nerve...Suzanne had pain killers in her vehicle so gave me one...still aching but not as bad.

Darlene just called, picked up my gallong on paint...getting perm and hair cut tonight (thank God) so not sure I'll have time to do the back basement entrance..nothing wrong with the color that's there now it's just that I had new staircase built (Christmas gift from Darlene and Mike) so the design changed a bit so you can see the bare building blocks where the new staircase doesn't meet up..would take all of 1/2 hr. I'm sure..takes longer to get ready than to paint..

Odd isn't it, I'll spend 10 hours playing at painting a project but come walls/doors/trim etc. would rather hire someone..lol

Leave the painting for Norm Betty. He will enjoy having something to do that will help you. I just read on the sewing thread that Stacey (Fairy1004) has just gotten out of the hospital. Janice said she had multiple blood clots in the lungs and leg!!!! And this after just finding out that Janice is being treated for breast cancer. Saying my prayers for them both.

I love interior painting, Betty - show me a wall, and I'll want to paint it lol
A neighbour has hired me to paint her bedroom and bathroom. She has the paint, I'm just waiting for her to say "when".

omygoodness, Barb - thanks for passing this info on - Poor Janice/Stacy! Prayers are being said for them, and their family.

Got an e-mail from Janice earlier letting me know what had gone on...lucky lady, little longer and she'd not be with her family! Janice has pre-op then will go back to help out..lots on her plate..sending prayers for all!

Barb, stop trying to fill in Norm's activity card..lol...no work for him..

Never give up hope and just know you both are in my thoughts and prayers. Oh and the Doc I am supposed to see in Kingston is Dr. Wood(s)?, he is a hip specialist, it has been already over 2 month that I am waiting for an appointment (consultation) and I am sure it will take another 2 month for sure to see him...lol...oh well I can still get up every morning and do some work and for that I am grateful...other people are a lot worse off.

Susan, I really enjoyed all your pictures (your vacation and your fishing trips) you have a great eye for natures Beauty. We used to live in Cold Lake (1987-1991)and we really enjoyed our time there (well not the -40 in winter…lol)

Laura that Passion flower looks stunning and I hope it keeps on flowering for you. Also hope that you can find out what is bothering your little man.

Thea! Thank you for the "hello"! and thank you for your kind words re: my vacation photos - much better being there, I assure you :-) You lived in Cold Lake? How was the fishing? :-) Nobody enjoys the -40c!!! yuck! One of the reasons we moved to Calgary - Southern AB so warmer, and it's more temperate anyway! Susan, I've learned much from you about my own country, always thought we were the Knesset with shortest summers and longest winters.

I'm a silly girl, Paul asked me to drop something off at the Penetanguishene office in the morning. Which means I'll not get to the Barrie office intil around 10:00 am..asked if I'm working from home tomorrow or going in..said going in..imagine, I feel guilt other have to work in the office and forgo my staying home..this after waiting forever to get time at home!

Haven't had supper, bought some corn n my way home so think I'll go and cook it!

Rest? Me? Ummm....NO. I made a HUGE pan of sauce. Divided that, one batch made stuffed green peppers. The other batch made lasagna, which ended up to be dinner. Had a small pan to freeze, but I ran out of sauce!!! Had enough to put in there but will have to save some aside from a next batch to go over this.

Went to the farm market and got some veggies as our garden is NOT producing. Picked up some meats we needed also.

Took Shane to the music store....Nate to soccor twice. And I haven't slept in about 3 to 4 days.

My son came home with a tattoo last night that just did me in. I amost passed out.
I was so upset I got in the car and left for 4 hours....just driving and went to the big Walmart up in Buffalo.

DH brought me a "smores sundae" tonight....no go. Not sitting well.

MARY...I should have stuck a candle in it to sing Happy Birthday too you!!!

Oh Debbie, what kind of tattoo and where did he get it that's got you so excited? Lol. 4 hrs.as a lost soul, ahhhh you could have driven here in that amount of time!

One of my favorites is stuffed peppers..drats should have made a batch, kept some sauce for cabbage rolls..still could do! You are in a cooking mode, do you freeze a lot of meals?

Painted the walls coming down the outside basement entrance..still not completely finished, need some wiring done then panels can be installed on upper walls..cleans it up though.. As you can imagine, fresh perm, sweating to beat heck and voila...curly frizzy hair, I'm a sight..

Curling iron will do wonders in the a.m. Oops problem, this morning after using curling iron I didn't want to set it on the coffee table, so what did I do??? Set it onto of a cake candle..when I went to put it away it had melted the design of the curling iron not candle, wax got between opening and waxed shut..drats, now in am I'll have to heat it up and let wax drop out so many frizzy it will have to be. Lol only. Could do something so stupid! Now I know to rejuvenate candles you can use hair dryer to it and it will melt it just enough to bring it to shinny stage, rids dues off candles. Lol. Sooo must see if it will melt was into hole of the curling iron barrel.

Think it's time to call it a day..

Betty, DO NOT do that....put it in the freezer for a couple minutes....the wax will chip right off. Much easier that melting and less messy!

Shane got an angel wing, from top of his shoulder/arm....to almost elbow. It is big. It is very dark. It is not finished. I was told he was going to go look at sketches....not get one now.

No, I don't cook and freeze a lot of meals...I tend to do this when I am upset and over strung out...I tend to be there! lol

Cross posted Judy..all we can do is take each day at a time and try to get through each day..some are better than other, some you manage a smile, some are downright difficult and still you manage a smile..

Wow Debbie that's a big tattoo...maybe keep the verdict until you see finished design. What did Paul say? When I'm upset I take on big projects..remember my first pond... Got up early one morning, put crying music on, shovel in hand and before nightfall I had a 20' x20' hole dug, parts 4 1/2 feet deep. Lol. Had I had a liner I could have filled it with tears..another time did bedroom floors, on and on and on. BUT. cooking has never been what I look to do

Ok girls, might as well give you a laugh..you can shake your head before you even read my story, go ahead, shake head and say out loud 'oh betty'!

Shut the lights out, walked in the dark to my bedroom, started to get ready for the washroom, really had to go..hip pity hop to the washroom sat down almost piddling while I'm sitting, oh oh, oh oh big time, forgot Greg replaced the seat and made comment that the seat closes on it's own, well it did...

I did not say it tasted good...I just cooked it! lol I have really gotten this pepper allergy flaring big tme. DH had to clean the green peppers and chop little bits up...that I put in his sauce. I was taking the boiled peppers out of the water...and my eyes started burning and stinging. NO MORE. I got everything set and made...told him he had to stuff them. I think he made 8 peppers. That will feed him and maybe one for Shane, he is not crazy about them.

Crissy has been my sounding board on the tattoo. She has helped me thru some of it, and talking to Shane....I know he did it for my Mom, as he was holding his Grandmas hand when she passed. This will have her dates on it also. The problem is....he is my 'baby' and although they grow up...which I am 100% Ok with...I was NOT ok with seeing this tattoo.....and seeing it every day with what it represents. Its NOT helping my healing, as much as it might be helping his.

Funny (not funny but ...eh...interesting) how all deal with stress....Deb cooks, Betty projects.. don't know what I do but suppose driving has been up there. Did a little of that today.
Deb - sigh... with you on the tattoo... hope we have impressed on ours that they can get them any time AS LONG as they do not expect financial support from us ever again. Those can be expensive... and certainly if Shane is making that kind of $$ it could have gone to Jazz class or college or something.....
he is definitely rebelling over something.....shouldn't be when you've bent over backwards for this music class...IDK

Laura - wish you lived closer... our passion flower is springing up all over the yard... I keep trying to pot them for an upcoming swap.....but your flower is beautiful. There are several varieties of them... I read on DG mine is the "Maypop" as it pops up in May (in some regions)

My day was great... cards when I got to the office... Lunch with old friends...planned lunch with new friends tomorrow...

.....until I got off from work. I wont go into it.... (SIGH) but I left to DRIVE... (like Deb... drive when upset) and ended up picking up DS from Community College and we went to get Sushi.

He had a Great outlook on life today (I know that will change but I'm enjoying it while I have it) and seems glad to be in college and likes his new job.

I'm childish and really not speaking to DH. Can't believe the one person who is supposed to be there for me almost ruined my birthday... he just got back in town yesterday and is going back out of town tomorrow. Good Riddance.

Mary - Sorry you DH is such an a**!! Well, at least you can drive to get away! AND he's gone out of town again!

Neighbour of ours gave us a TV cabinet she doesn't need anymore - looks Much better than the one we are putting in Bob's tool shed (if it's only good enuff for a tool shed, 'nuff said!). And we still had 2 black bookcases (42" wide) we put in place of some tinier bookcases and a "what not" table that used to be Bob's computer desk. Glad IT's out, too. There are doors to be put on the bookcases but they don't have hinges, so need to look after that, too! Big, Heavy Doors! Played around taking sets of dishes out of the shelving unit (now in TV unit and one black bookcase) and 2 sets of DVD/VHSs (now in other black bookcase). At least it now looks uniform instead of 4 different types of table/DVDholder/Display cabinet, we have 2 types!
Well, I'm taaaaaahred, so heading off to bed - DH is watching Rambo#3 - will leave him to it lol

Mary, I so empathize with you..some men feel birthdays are just another day and don't realize how important they are to us..maddening to say the least...perhaps you should do same when it's his birthday!! When celebrating birthdays we always did it closest Saturday to birthday, that being said giving your hubby one more
chance..something special might be planned fit Saturday. If nothing else you got to spend time with DS.
