Good morning. Sky was red this morning. 68 and very humid. Soon will be light enough to go clear out the yard before the rain gets here. Everyone take care.
Weather In Your Garden # 104
Randy and I just had breakfast.. and going out to clear everything out after coffee
Just a few remaining items to put away so they don't fly with Irene.
Be safe, everyone.
best of luck to all
Praying for all of you in the path of the storm. May you stay safe. Hoping it will change direction and head out to sea before it hits land.
Cant sleep anymore.. must be my little subconscious dude inside me jumping up and down shouting "Oh no! help! help! Go away!!", Ugh...
74°, wind 0.0, H 90, Baro 29.88─, cloudy
Going up to 76° today with rain, winds picking up as the day goes on,
Dropping to 71° tonight as the outer bands of Hurricane Irene approach.
* I can officially verify that the phrase 'The Quiet Before The Storm', is true
..not a leaf is moving out there, a very gray, still morning here.
yes it is quiet even here which is quite a ways away from NC. 66°. DH remembered to take the a/c out of the window in the room behind the garage. We only have it in that one & he was watching the news on TV.
Very still here, quiet, humid air, dark clouds. Have to plant or move tons of pots today. The prediction of 80 mph winds in Boston is for tomorrow.
The pots and container plants ended up being an issue here. Now the garage is loaded with plants sitting on top of saw horses covered with plywood and plants fill the garage floor. One more hanging plant to get inside. I don't want it to become a flying plant.
To make mine worse, I want to put a car in the garage. That means the bags of soil mendments have to go into the ground. I wonder if they'll decide to pour the marble chips where they're planned. DH told me this am it is genetic for women to start to work earlier. He and DS have some heavy lifting ahead. I wonder what they'll decide about the basketball net which is free standing.
We have one car in the garage but the truck never did fit and will stay in the driveway.
Could the bags of amendments go in the trunk of the car?
Hi Pirl, I hope you will be safe in your area, My son and his wife and kids left for higher ground about 150 ml to west. His MIL and SIL stayed , worst is yet to come, at home they still have power and Phone, but the eye of the Irene is coming in about 2 PM. I don't know how I would feel if I lived in Long Island, it looks kind the low area. I hope by the time it comes close to you it will slow down. Etelka
