county fair is this week, spent yesterday and today watching friends ride. DD is too old for 4-h now. In the 70's both days. Usually it's stinking hot during fair.
Weather in your garden # 103
oh is that so nice.. a horse show would have been perfect today
I guess that you didn't behave yourself all these years so it had been hot?
70°, H 58%
I'm 'beat' from today, calling it a night, (- a nice cool night). Zzzzzz ☺
Got some weeding done(ran out of Round Up) and cleaned up my "staging" area where I have all the things I still need to get in the ground, planted another Iris and went to do more and realized I have no more garden soil...UGH... guess it's a Lowe's trip to me tomorrow....I also wanted to get to RareFind to check out their "dog" sale
It's 55 degrees and my windows are open. Heaven.
57 and I agree!!.. going to 82.. no humidity!!!
59 and sunny here at the moment, sunny to partly cloudy today with a High 78F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
Good morning.
Another salubrious morning here in WNY - 61 degrees with low humidity, going up to the low 80's.
Have a blessed and fantastic Friday, friends.
-Dave
Yes, salubrious! Glorious morning - sunshine, breezes and 68. Ideal weather. Lucy's father would have given it the stamp of approval.
WOW

Gorgeous day to look foward to today
Dad would certainly like that temp., pirl. 75° here not bad unless you are working in the sun which I was doing this morning. I will get back to it when the shade covers the space which I am clearing later this afternoon. Mail just arrived (heard the truck). wonder of wonders.
82°, wind from the WNW at 8 mph, H 33% (Ahhh! ☺!), mostly clear
Dropping down to 62° tonight with clear, moonlit skies.
72 degrees and dry. The sun was pretty warm as I walked through the city to the river, but there was a breeze when we were in the shade. Overall a nice day, just couldn't spend much time outside. More homework.
Full moon and some clouds are messing up any chance to see the Perseid meteors tonight.
Saw them once down south, counted 7 to 8/ min - much darker skies.
- big moon out tonight, it would mess up the view anyway from anywhere on this coast, wait till it sets about ~4am. (lol!)
How cute! Happy Birthday M!!
59 and sunny right now, looking at a partly cloudy day w/a high of 84F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.
very cute. I bet that she is still cute at 5.
63° It will get warmer, but I hope not too hot as I would like to work outside & have another task to do away from the garden this morning.
Beautiful morning in WNY. A cool 63 degrees going up into the low-mid 80's today. Nice.
Have a blessed and salubrious Saturday, friends.
-Dave
83°, wind from the SW @ 2.3 mph, H 37%, mostly cloudy
Increasing clouds today as late summer T- storms approach. Next few days look wet with heavy acc. of rain possible. Tonight's low 68°.
- Did wake up around 6am today, (force of habit..), there were a few thin wispy bands of clouds and some very slight haze. Not ideal seeing conditions but I'd bet a couple of hrs earlier the skies would have been clear enough to see at least a few meteors pass by. Obviously not as much as in a dark sky location, but maybe just a few... However I needed the rest from this busy week, (and so did DW - she loves to see that stuff too), so watching last night wasn't even an option for us.
*Next op are the Leonids which peak on Thursday Nov 17th. (those were actually the first I saw as a kid, downside is they come in from a relatively low angle above the horizon if I'm not mistaken).
Quiet night tonight, (except for every frog & bug which can make a noise).
76°, H 79%, cloudy
'The quiet before the storm', perhaps..
Down to 70° Rain is predicted to reach us on Mon.
Rain.
pouring rain... 67 now going to 75.. think we already got 2 inches and it's not going to end until tomorrow.. roads were terrible last night
Good morning.
Right now it is partly cloudy and 65 degrees in WNY. Radar shows strong t-storms coming soon.
Have a blessed and super Sunday, friends. :)
-Dave
The weather was good to us this week--away in DC, returning through only a spot of torrential rains that stopped traffic in Southern NJ on Saturday--but, we had beautiful weather at the capital, and I returned home to find my DS was RIGHT that he hadn't had to water anything. All the plants survived without a drop from a hose. No matter that the clouds are dark this am and rain overnight. The plants are very happy.
glad you had a nice trip Rosemary
Thanks. We were college hunting. Today we drive again for camp drop off. Who said it gets easier as the kids get older? Maybe I can check out Harmon Hill in NH or some other cool plant spot. Beautiful plants and garden people are my sanctuary.
72° very cloudy & a sprinkle here & there.
69°, wind from the SW @ 5mph, H 92%, heavy rain
Heavy thunderstorms throughout the day, our high predicted at 76°.
Dropping down to 68° tonight with high humidity and rain.
- Some streets are already flooded, along with sections of highways closed off.
Power outages & rail service suspended in some areas.
Rain expected to continue into tomorrow.
Looks like that heavy storm front has lingered over Long Island. Rain continuing in Massachusetts and New Hampshire but much less intense here. 69 degrees outside here and overcast when not raining.
I can verify that.
69°
Drove home from Rochester today....cloudy all trip until the CT border...then it rained the rest of the way, still raining now....weather was nice in NY until last night when there was a violent storm....roads were flooded as we tried to get back to Pittsford from Rochester after a dinner out.......
Torrential rain now, - this is going to go on for another day...
Don't need it tomorrow!
on off rain all day. same for tomorrow.
