That type will be back on the road in less than 2 months, - he acts w/o thinking of the consequences...
Coffee Break #64
They forgot to mention the BBQ he had going in the back seat.
Scary, they don't even bother looking for drivers using cell phones around here. They're too busy cleaning up the accidents.
idiot
Gee, he was only going 70.....
Oh, yes! Except mine don't sleep, they complain! Garret was such a good rider, but of course, he had no one to argue with!
oohhh torture... going down the shore with my grandparents.. 70 cutlass with no air.. dog drooling on my leg the whole ride.. and he refused to take the parkway and pay tolls from Jersey City ... took 3 times longer to take his back roads.. UGH.. pure torture!!!
Cute kids, Debi. LOL, Allison! Torture indeed!
ROTFL
but those were the best trips once we got there.. always had fun crabbing and swimming.. going to the seaside boardwalk.. catching toads.. so many good memories
Dad used to take us to Rocky Neck....almost in RI...on the back roads.....no wonder I was car sick.....
Isn't it amazing how memorable childhood family vacations are?! We spent our summers in the NC mountains to avoid the Florida Sizzle, and my sisters and I became very bonded to the mountains. Our NH home reminds me very much of the Smokeys and Blue Ridge. Such wonderful memories. My younger sister ended up moving there a few years ago.
I have never been to that part of North Carolina, but it sounds lovely!
LOVE the Blue Ridge Parkway
I have to agree. Those mountains are beautiful. My ancester heritage is from the Smokies. In particular the corner of VA, TN and NC.
That is a very beautiful area, Frank. My younger sister, who was around 7 or 8 when we started going up there for the summers, had a real knack of adopting the mountain dialects. We would make fun of her for her "southern" accent. Now when I visit her, she has a pronounced mountain dialect to her speech. It makes me smile. During college I was a camp counselor at a summer camp outside Asheville, NC, and the smell of the mountain meadows at dusk was an addictive perfume I'll never forget. I, too, love the Blue Ridge Parkway, Jen. Hank and I have done one stretch or the other several times in our goings and coming. Marilyn - that is an area you would love. I hope you get there at some point!
Our grandkids leave tomorrow. Boo hoo. The house will be very quiet after two lively weeks of having them here. It has been a mutual love fest between the kids and our dogs. The 3-year-old is amazing with them.
so glad the visit was enjoyable for everyone!!!
My nephew's wife is in labor!!!!!
Praying for a safe delivery. How exciting!
You will miss those cuties, Louise! Too bad they don't live closer.....Jen, hope the baby is fine!

Hi Everybody!!!
Jen, that is one beautiful child. So, she's your nephew's daughter, what does that make you to her?
I have been very busy, but thought I'd check in to see what everyone's up to. Of course, I didn't have time to read the long thread!
Hugs and love to everyone.
Harper
What a sweetie! Congratulations to the family.
Oh, Jen, she is a beauty! Like the name too! So glad she is here and all is well. Congrats to your nephew and his wife!
Ah yes.........the sweet grandkids are gone. :( The boy, Hayden, 5, was really upset that he won't see us soon. We were excited when his Mom said they were planning to come to Fla. in March.
Hi Harper! Miss you! I always think of you when I look at the blue columbine you gave me. I'm moving some into the new garden I'm planting around the back patio. Mixed with the pink and white bleeding heart, it will be very pretty! Say hi to Sam for me! :)
Let me clarify...7lbs 14ozs!!!!!
That would make her my great niece
My other nephew(this nephew's oldest brother) and his wife(the ones that lost the baby last year) just found out they're having a boy
