All-time high output for Con Ed today. Over 13 GW.
Weather in your garden # 102
...doc only needed 1.21 GW to power the DeLorean.
That was in '85. ^_^
- you got a point there. lol!
power outages are growing
Yay! a bit of cooling thurnderstorms after three excrusicatingly hot days. Yesterday our temp was 102 F. My 11 pm times for 3 days have been for watering, watering, watering. Even the witchhazels look a bit peaked. Dare I mention that our AC quit last night, too?
Buddha in pirl's pic is very stylish. How did you find an umbrella to match the coleus?
Love it Pirl!!
It's 73 w/ 73% humidity too, dew point is at 64F and very overcast, heading for a high of 92 today.
Nice shot, Pirl!
Woke up to raindrops on the windows. Too brief, but better than yesterday morning. 68 degrees right now going into 90s later.
87°, wind 0, H 71%, hazy sun
going up to 92° under partly cloudy skies down to 72° tonight.
Presently our Heat Index is 110°.
Gee, Pirl, that's sort of what I looked like after the heat wave! Two brief, but heavy, showers this morning....I was walking Robs in the first one, Suey in the second....I'm truly soaked but it feels wonderful....I can hear the flowers sighing.....
73° & cloudy Brief shower earlier this morning.
Funny, Marilyn!
No rain, no showers, just brutal endless sunshine. Remind me about this some snowy day.
mid 70's after rain storms came through this am. Hoping the humidity stays away today.
89 with 64% H. Yucky again.
90 on the nose right now. Whew! I'm waiting it out inside making plant labels. Can't waste a second of time, it seems. Guess birthdays in your 60s convince you that there's no time left to waste. lol
Rain came through quickly. Too hot to work outside when there's no cool place to retreat. Tomorrow is supposed to be in mid or lower 80's F.
I love pirl's pink lady and the umbrella hat!
Thanks, Marilyn.
No breeze at all here so we're stripping guest bathroom wallpaper. Who said retirement was boring?
That's a cute character in your garden down there.
Was overcast this morning, one or two drops fell. Now it's 93. Cool compared to yesterday.
Our AC is working again! Thanks to DH skill . It would have been a week to get the AC guy here.
Yay!! Cannot live without it lately.
Hit 94. 93 now, with 57% H.
95°, H 40%
real feel 98°
90, 50 H, index 95.
All guest bathroom wallpaper removed.
Icy cold cranberry juice and vodka...priceless.
I'm sipping an iced latte now....went up to the farm & picked a few quarts of berries....then spent the rest of the day in the pool with my grandkids! Even though it's 90, the humidity is much lower....there was a nice breeze at the farm coming off of Tyler Lake.....
NYS Riesling for me!
rain again, wish the humidity would go away. It was hot and humid again this afternoon.
8:15 and 80 degrees outside still. Tomorrow is supposed to cool down. Yay!
LOL.. Pirl you made me giggle
I say guest bathroom wallpaper should be stripped by guests. To stripper music...
Heavenly, Allison.
Now you tell me, Victor!
It was a good job for another dreadful weather day.
Started off cloudy this am, and when I walked outside I didn't get smacked in the fast with a wet towel felt comfortable, UNTIL the sun came out NASTY NASTY NASTY
High was 104°
Hubby worked 3 jobs today, too bad you didn't live closer Rosemary, hubby could have done 4
Really, is he an AC guy? He must be a god to his customers. We have had our AC for 17 years without checking it so it served us right that it failed on the hottest day. Our DD was staying in an AC dormatory for month-long camp at Roger Williams U. Coming home to a sweltering house was a rude awakening to her.
Also, she said she would have stood in front of the chain saws when we had some youngish Norway maples taken out last week. I think we get more light and fresh breezes, and the oaks and ornamental pine trees are much happier with them gone. Plan is to plant spicebush, 2 calycanthus and one Brackens BB magnolia ( and lots more daylilies) in their place once the weather turns cooler again.
Yep he's an HVAC mechanic, we run our own biz. Crazy busy!!!
not here.. swap like out there already
You're not alone, Allison. It's already 82, with 76% H, and a heat index of 89.
glad you understood my typo.. swap swamp... eh.. either way I am melting
