New room everyone! Come and show us what's blooming in this heat!
This is a pride of barbado's I picked up last week-end.
She's about to...61... Summer is upon us!
what a beautiful flower on that one.. I lost mine when I planted it outside boo hoo.. the photos on the other thread are awesome, and I am glad to see some pretty blooms. glad Susie is back, still praying for all of us..
so far no mites, just too much sun and not enough rain..triple digits for the weekend and next 7 day week. ugh.
this is an area last year on this date..
LK you read my mind., I was going to ask for a new thread this morning. :))
Susie take care of that leg. Those kinds of things are not to be messed with.
Debra I feel your pain about the trees. I would be so beside myself in your place. I only had one casualty in all the treework we had done here, but it was bad enough. Had a rhodo that I had been waiting to see bloom for years. It had 9 big buds on it when they dropped a 90 ft. hickory tree on it and split it straight down the middle. I can well imagine what you are feeling.
Morning everyone!
Debra, sure hope you can save your plants from that tree!
WOW! Those are so pretty! Is that bottom one a spider lily?
Good Morning to all of you. Beautiful Lilies Nita, hope you will have many more to show us.
Susie, do hope your leg is better today.
Debra that is quite a difference from last year. What do you think is the main cause for that much change? Here it is Spider Mites. My Angels right now are green again, full of leaves but nothing much happening in the way of blooms.
Faye, I got your letter yesterday! Thanks so much!
Faye I think it is a spider lily. The tag is missing (not unusual for me), but I think Fruit Loop brought it to me last Fall.
Debra, sure hope they take into consideration "your things in your yard" when they start whittling on it. I sure hate that they are taking them all out!
Pretty flowers all.
Happy Birthday tomorrow, Susie!
Susan, When I did my collage, I placed pictures on the scanner, scanned to my pictures, then sent. The other one was merged and now I cannot find how I did it. Old age is the pits when it hits the brain.
oh faye, u ain't old pfft. *hugs*
Thanks Debra, lol but I am. I'm old as dirt and still love to play in it. give me potting or garden dirt and a water hose and I can play most all day.
Happy Birthday Susie. hope this will be the most special.
Love & Hugs to all you dear friends.
Ughh, I lost you all again....but you can move but I will find you....rofl.
Beautiful pics. Fruity, I do believe I gave you tiger woods, haven't seen mine yet but not all of mine are in bloom yet. I did lose alot of them I was overwintering, not due to overwintering because they did fine, but the mouse got in and ate all the bulbs! So all lilies this year will be planted and no more overwintering them in the straw fort. I still have so much to plant and it is horrible hot and humid outside...uck! Sweating like a piglet in a sweater....
Went on the water garden tour yesterday and it was HOT. But saw some beautiful things and some so funny things. This ladies house was so fun!
This picture be sure and look at the surroundings and the bottom of the bears foot, the sign the bear is holding says "please wipe your paws'. I did a search and the bear came from Cabela's of course with a pretty hefty price tag, but it just cracks me up.
Susie this is right up your alley. This was also on the water garden tour. I go for the water gardens and all the other stuff you see there. You have to read the sign above the pretend chicken coop, inside the coop you can't see but their is a female chicken, the roof is hens and chickens, and a wire chicken on top acting as a sign for the chicken dance hall. The owner found the chicken that is laying down and thought the chicken looked drunk, that is how this all started.

Wow, how do they get the water in that ball? Love the gardens.
Morning everyone!
Well I am not sure how they get the water in the ball, I am guessing they fill it and then tip it upright and it stays in? Heck I don't know...never thought about it.....rofl. I do know the ball sits on a rack that is under water.
You got it Happ. Fill it, turn it under water and the pressure keeps the water in. What a great idea.
I would of thought the water in that ball would of really been hot that day, with the sun shining on it cause we were in the high 90's but the fish would go up in and swim around and then come back out.....I tried to find one on the web, bet they are cheap, altho there isn't much reason for them to be expensive. We rarely see them on the water tour, there are usually 40 houses each year on the tour and we make it to about 20 of the houses, every year for the last 10 years I have seen 3 maybe.
This was a pretty water garden.
Those are just gorgeous and funny shots happ. Thanks for sharing.
Maybe the water in the ball IS warm, and that is their 'spa'. lol
What's the boiling temperature for goldfish?? :))
Lovely dahlia Faye!! I got a few this year too. I must have got a "mixture" though when I ordered because most are white. We all know how I hate white. :)) White is not a color.
I like anything better than white. Thank you for the card. You are so talented.
dahtzu, love the bloom. Mine will be really late this year if I am lucky enough to get a bloom, I planted so late...
rvnsbrk, I have a friend who says the same thing about my favorite colors...rofl, which are beige, white and silver soft gray. She says those are non-colors...rofl. Let anything be those colors and I am right after it....rofl....I found a bedspread at Dillards one time which was white with soft silver stripes....omg which I would of bought 5 of them because it got worn out and I finally had to get rid of it. Those are house non-colors...rofl.
Boiling point of carp....let's see, always heard if you pressure cook them they taste like salmon... ;) You are a crazy kid....
Kid?? Who you callin' a kid? LOL!!!
Glad you liked the card Faye.
Actually it works just like a water dispenser except you are not taking any water out of it so the water stays in.. the water should stay moderately comfortable because it actually circulates with the water in the pond. It will form a natural circulation.. not a good one since the hot water will naturally rise but the swimming fish will help it circulate also. Gasses in the water will over time build up in the bowl.. that is probably why there appears to be air in the bowl... it is just a big bowl... think of any really big fish bowl turned upside down. Great idea! I love it.
Our next week after tomorrow is suppose to be fire on earth! I saw one day heat index 111 I think on Sunday, I am going to have to move plants tonight and get some under the shade, I can't keep things watered. Planting will be out of the question until fall. Least I guess I can make plant tags since that won't take labor.
I'm here.
Looks like were not getting HD services from Direct after all...Two weeks ago we called Direct and asked them to schedule us to get the new HD dish, boxes, and DVR's. Well, they were supposed to be here yesteday. I was told he would here, any where from noon to four. At noon he called and said he would be here at six. At 6:30, he called again and said he would be here at eight. At nine he called and said he was on the way. Todd told him don't bother, as it was going to take him three hours to install the new dish, and hook up the new box with dvr's on the two tv's! Now I have to call in the morning and try to reschedule!!! So I called this morning, I was told it would be another 2 weeks, so we said forget it! I also told them I did not appreciate them sending a tech, that could not speak english. Just because I live on the border of Mexico, does not mean I speak the language. So it is cancelled, and Todd is not happy as we just bought this 55 inch LED/HD tv, and now we can't get the HD equipment. So it looks like we may be switching to DISH? Pretty bad customer service!!!
