That is the plumeria my daughter brought me from Hawaii 3 years ago (a 10in. stick). It is 5ft. high and wide now.
Here's my brug 'Monster White' that I grew from a cutting this spring.
Things grow really fast in the 'outdoor greenhouse' down here. I'd think they'll both grow slower where you are since you have cool nights even in summer. If you cut them back or keep them dormant all winter that will slow them down, too. That being said, it's not a bad thing to keep these growing slowly when you have to take them indoors all winter. Mine will be 10' by 10' in a couple more years.
my Brugs are growing nicely
My Monster came back from it own roots. I don't know if it will do it this year, but it is starting to bloom again. I'm watching. That is a pretty one.
" PLANT ROOM" Some will need a little trim but not going to cut back hard this year. Just enough to fit them all in their new homes :)))
well a very foggy morning & its wet out yet we have had a very soggy week they say dry off this weekend & Warmer weather by Monday .
well you all have a great day love the flowers when ever you have them to share just let me know how much :))))

Good evening everyone
I have been digging for the last 2 days, all the Brugs that are two small to do anything for awhile, also have been installing the last few windows, my installer,is a great guy his MiL, I went to high school with, anyway I have 3 more windows to do then the whole house is done
I dug up the Plumeria's. hopefully next year I will have loads of Blooms, the last couple days I have been watching the Humming Birds fight
over the Honey suckle, I did get a photo of the little guy sitting on the wire, I'll post it later, have a great night
Elizabeth
Tonight it's suppose to be 35 degrees, I hope all my Brugs make it through the night, within the next 2 weeks, I'll have them all inside, I do hope the weathermen have the night time temps right, next week it's suppose to be warmer, you can feel the chill in the air, I hope everyone has a great evening
Elizabeth
Has everyone gone away? well anyway, my Brugs made it, I am still digging up whats not in Bloom, I hope eveyone has their Brugs in a safe
place, have a great evening
Elizabeth
Hm, unlike you northern types, I am going the other direction and putting my new brug starts into their permanent spots in the ground.
Can't wait to see a picture of your 'Flame' in bloom!
Here's my CG with his second flush of blooms. They are more golden yellow than the last bunch, which ended up being orange sherbet color.
awsome, my Flame has not bloomed yet. Can't wait to see yours, Char. Elaine, your CG is gorgeous.
Elaine I am slowly getting all mine in, but there are still quite a few left in ground, 90 something tommorrow, and the rest of week will be warm, rain is predicted this weekend and I am off so hope to complete the transfer of plants then. I love getting plants out of the ground in the rain.
Y'know Deb, as long as the ground is warm you can probably keep them outside a while longer. Just pull out your old sheets and towels, and 'tent' them if the nights get cold. It holds the heat from the warm ground around the plant. Sure beats digging 'em in the rain!
I kept my tomatoes producing all winter last year, through frost and storms. Tent city in the back yard - it ain't pretty but . . it works.
Take a chance. Take a cutting as insurance, and leave one or two brugs out another week or two. You might be rewarded with a few bonus blooms if you get more Indian Summer. My old pink didn't stop blooming until mid-December last year. Frosty night shut 'er down.
Oh, I am only getting the ones out of the ground that havn't gotten anywhere near the blooming stage yet, to send away. I have four out there with buds, they will stay out until the very last minute. I have yet to see any of my own doubles bloom. Maybe next year.
Three inside are budded out. It will be a nice Halloween with the blooms smelling good.
'charleen I would love to have some of those hairy morning glory seeds if you have extra to spare stick a few aside for me and when I get my cuttings just drop them in the same box.
Good afternoon
it's nice to see everyone, Debra, it would be good to only have 4 in the ground, I had 85 in the ground plus the 7 Plumeria's, so I had my work
cut out for me, Charlene you'll love Flame, it's a double, it's so exciting to wait for Blooms, you should have another month & a half before you
have to worry, this week end I have a bunch of work to do, the building that I had my antique Booth, sold, so they are having an out door sale
for all the vendors, the good thing about that is that I made $300.00 yesterday, by marking some of my things down, hopefully this week end
I'll make more, I do hope we find another Building soon, well back to washing up flower pots, to get ready to dig more Brugs
by the 20th I should have everything in, have a great afternoon
Elizabeth
Wrote it down Trish...
wow Elizabeth 85? LOL I thought I had more to handle than I thought possible with 30 or so left this year.
Last year I had 58. I sent quite a few away. I have about 19 in ground, but they aren't budded so those will get undone this weekend. My task is nothing compared to yours.. the four that are budded, will stay in ground until last minute, that is one thing I am certain of. I can't decide whether to keep tops or keep bottoms.. *sigh*
Yes, it is beautiful. Very Lovely.
Debra, I got my pkg. today.
Still damp too. Wooo Hooo!!! I hope I can make it live.
Mule nuzzles and hugs, dear girl...
LOVE ALL THE PIC'S WISH I COULD STAY & CHAT . Time to go start sup for daddy I'm running late & He may fire me HAHA.

Can I say I am jealous? okay I am jealous. Kaitlyn is about too...not Flame, tho. I may have to bring him in before he does anything.
Debra
good afternoon, I sure hope you get Blooms, before you have to take them in, Tommorrow, I'll have to really work, taking things outside for the outside store sale before they close, I sure hope we get another building soon, I really enjoy having a Booth, Saturday & Sunday we have the sale, I have got my spot already reserved, I'll let you know How it went Sunday evening, I hope I sell out so I don't have to move anything
Elizabeth
Good Luck ELIZABETH On your sales I also have busy weekend so will check back in when i can .

Debra, I potted my baby up today. It has tiny root and a couple of little leaves coming out.
I have four fat sticks of B arborea from Kells seed, and one of the sticks is a Y piece, if anyone wants one, please dmail me.
Good Job Char, I am glad it is going for you. Could you save a piece of your double peach for me? I don't care if it is a NOID, as Noids seem to fare better for me anyway..
Susie, u are so lucky to have a daddy..
I have only been doing brugs for three years now I think.
I sure will, just made a list with your name Double peach. I didn't know if that was a "true name" or not. It doesn't make any difference. It is beautiful. The blooms are about foot long, I got to measure them.
My Painted Lady is loaded and Monster is too.
Susie, You really are Lucky, just as Debra says. Hang on to him as long as you can. I miss my folks. Can't be replaced either.
Hugs to all.
Charleen are both cuttings you sent me the same. no label, I thought they were Flame.
Yes, Doris. There was a orange or pink marking tape and I thought I had your name and angel 's Moonlight on it. Would be in bottom of pkg.
Daddy turns 99 this Jan told him he has to stick around so we can get him on the smucker jar :) he is for the most part easy to care for just needs some help but for the most he can do for himself .
The Painted lady I Bought did not make it through the winter so maybe you can save me a cutting . Phone gotta go
Elaine, how big do you want your brugs to grow? I am not potting upsize over winter here, but I do keep them in smaller pots unless I want trees. Most of mine grow right thru the pot into the ground and I just cut them off at the bottom. A friend of mine puts her very large brug trees in those blue tubs with handles she gets at walmart ofr around 5 dollars, she drills holes in them and uses a dolly to wheel them in every winter. I have to take mine down 13 steps to the basement, so my trees are chosen carefully. the rest get beheaded and given away, their bottoms usualy stay with me.
Joyus, that is a beauty!
Deb, I want big shrubs. I'm planning on putting 'Monster' into the ground, but the spot I want to plant it has those clerodendrons going mad right now, so I'm giving them one more chance to bloom this winter before I move them to plant the brug.
All my brugs will end up in the ground, so they can all get big and bushy. Meantime, I'm going nuts finding big enough pots to keep them growing and not falling over! Charles Grimaldi needs another pot already, too! He has a jaunty tilt right now, don't you think?
I try not to have any plants in the house at all. They harbor bugs here - I mean, you know, THOSE bugs - i.e. roaches and ants. Anywhere dark and moist . . . It's not a problem in summer, when it's cold and dry in the house they don't want to be indoors. But in winter, when I have the windows and doors open all the time, they 'migrate' indoors because it's warmer in the house.
Elaine, would you mind growing one of my seedling crosses? It is a star dancer x pod 2. I bought the seeds from a DG'r. I have not seen it to bloom yet.
Joyous, it looks like it belongs here to me. It is gorgeous.
Sure Deb, I'd love to give it a try. But if it grows into a tree in 3 months for me, do I send you back cuttings or what? Or maybe you'd have to drive down here for a visit, to come get it? (grins)
Being serious now, you want me to keep it going through the winter so it has a head start towards blooming next summer, right?
