Oh, yuck! I used to read a book to my 4th graders called My Side of the Mountain, where a young teen tries to survive on his own in the Adirondaks...he used to grind the acorns & make pancakes out of them....don't know if you really could or not, but the kids loved the book!

Marilyn, I just did a quick bit of research on acorns being poisonous to dogs, and looks like he has to eat more than just one or 2. How many a dog has to eat would be in accordance with his weight, so Robs would have to eat quite a bit to get really sick, I'm thinking. I'm concerned about Jerry, as he's always picking up sticks, bark, etc. to chew on. In the fall when the acorns are dropping I'll have to keep a close eye on him. I would not want to get rid of my beautiful oak trees.
Allison, I forgot to mention that the videos of Hope and Eros in the pool were really cute.

Karen, I have an oak tree in the backyard....along with a hickory....he's never shown any interest in the nuts.....apple drops are something else, though......I'm just wondering why his behavior is changing....he's 9....he should be getting more obedient!
Marilyn, we cross posted. I never read that book, but saw the movie based on it. Very good. I remember at one point he ate algae, too.
Karen
LOL! Yes, you would think he would become more obedient with age.
Karen
My other airheads did slow down at 9......
Good reason for me not to get one. I like the laid back dogs.
Karen
I'm getting there, Karen!

"My Side of the Mountain" was my "most favorite-ist" book as a youngster !!!
Thank you for the memory!
Your welcome....I loved reading it to the kids......Allison, this morning, as I walked by the downstairs bath, the roll of TP had been taken off by guess who? He must have been reading your post, because he's never done that before.....eating acorns, unrolling TP....I think he's getting senile!
oh no... LOL
To prevent the unrolling of toilet paper by pets, press the roll flat into an oval, because it won't spin as easily.
Less fun for the pet!
That photo is a winner, Karen! Jerry is a lucky boy!
Great shot Karen, looks like they enjoyed them selves.
They are wondering what to do next?
Great pictures of two beautiful dogs!

Got Yowmee to the vet for his rabies shot last night. I love that my vet is open until 8 pm! Dr. Gibbons wanted to comb all of the mats out of Yowmee's fur. So she did and kept on in spite of Yowmee giving a warning hiss. Finally I said "put down the comb and step away from the cat". She needed to go to the next appointment.
That pic is too cute!
Geez, Memory ya think they'd know what the warning hiss is?
I'm sure she does she was just being OCD.
I had a vet walk out of the waiting room when I brought in Robs....good thing he wasn't my vet!
Pile of fluff ☺

Buster is a doll!
Yes, Buster is an adorable fluff ball - with needle sharp teeth! That should be over in a few weeks. He was just chewing on my wife's toes. :)
