Coffee Break #62 Officially Summer

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

bet it's worth every penny

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Alcohol too - at additional expense. I would love it - as long as they allow tripods.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Looks like they don't allow tripods...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That's the normal policy but this is a special event so they may. For that $ they should.

East Bridgewater, MA

Does it allow chairs?

I stand for no man, beast, or pyrotechnic display.

Thomaston, CT

I would be totally dizzy up that high! No alcohol needed.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Inventor of the weed whacker died. Hope he never has a moment's quiet for eternity!! ^_^

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL.. sheesh

East Bridgewater, MA

Start up the weed-wacker around his headstone at 6 am sharp...on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yeah and sing badly.. loud... opera like my my Mom's neighbor while doing that

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

good one!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Yes, Victor! I agree with you.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I love my new weed-wacker ^_^

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Is it quieter than the typical ones?

Brand name and model?

Thanks.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It's not really loud because it's a battery operated one. It is:
Black & Decker 18V Cordless w/2 Batteries
12 in. Trimmer and Edger
It has a telescopic handle so you can adjust the height.....very important to these short legs. :)
Also important to me....weight: 6lbs. 4oz.
Model # NST2118

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks so much, Pixie. It has to be easier than a scissors and quieter than the typical edgers.

Thomaston, CT

That's the one I ruined, Pixie.....bought a new battery, & that didn't help it .....I have a sort of paved road....one layer on.....when I complained to the foreman that the road was now 6" higher than my drive, he said they will pave my drive....we'll see!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Well so far Robin i've given it a good work out 2 days in a row and no problems. DD bought the 2 year extended warranty on it for me because im hard on tools. ^_^
The only thing I don't like it how long it takes to charge the battery. I killl it in 1/2 hour and it takes 9 to charge. I was told they have a quick charger you can buy that will take only 2 hours....I need it! LOL

Thomaston, CT

Yes, charging the batteries was a pain....then one fell into the mop bucket...oops. Another battery disappeared...think my neighbor forgot to return it....also forgot to return my leaf blower....my lawn service does most of the weed whacking, but they don't do inside of my garden fence, so I can get away with an electric one.....

Hi everybody! Just checking in. I'm sorry I didn't read the previous posts. I'm exhausted and going to bed in a minute, but I wanted to say that I am gainfully employed! For late June, July and August, I will be filling in for my friend's assistant who left on maternity leave. My friend is the Dean of Libraries at the City University of New York, which all in all, contains twenty colleges, like Queens College and all the community colleges, plus more. Each college has its own library. It's a massive entity! It's a big job - especially since I'm filling in and don't really know where she left off. She was supposed to train me, but the baby came too early. It's also quite a commute for me - about 2 hrs each way. Still, it's exciting and I'm learning so much.

ALSO, the company I used to design rugs for needed an artist to do all the designs for their Philadelphia showroom. So, they will be hiring me to do part time freelance for all their rugs! Once the CUNY job is over, I'm hoping the rug design will employ me enough so that I can stay afloat but also have some free time to continue my classes.

I'll be checking in when I can! Sending love and hugs to everyone!

Starting here on 9/1.....can't believe Anni is starting kindergarten.....wish her parents would keep her home another year....she herself said she wants to stay home another year...kid has more smarts than the parents.....

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Good luck Harper on the jobs!

Wow Jen that an early start.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I'm with you on that one Marilyn, Sophie starts starts this year and will be taking a bus, seems to little for a big bus!

Thomaston, CT

My Anni is very small for her age & born the end of Oct. I didn't send my son, & he was born the end of Sept. Best thing I ever did.....he would have struggled, & I know Anni will, too.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That's a tough call. I know a few who held theirs back and they did not regret. My older guy was born the day after the cutoff so he is usually the oldest.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - the absolutely astonishing turnaround in the case against that IMF guy shows that you just cannot jump to conclusions based on media reports, or even prosecutor allegations! Hope they go after her big-time.

East Bridgewater, MA

Wealthy guys (and women) will always be targets.

All the judges know that, so there has to be some real evidence.
