You should be very proud of those little guys, Victor....it's nice to do well academically, but the social aspect is very important....makes us who we are, & what we'll accomplish, and more importantly, is an indicator of a happy life...what's more important than that?
Coffee Break #62 Officially Summer
Thanks, Robin, and very true. He said the kids we chanting his name and yelling. Pretty cool!
Very cool! And I'm sure he's modest about the awards.....
Actually, he is. He is excited about letting family know, though.
I told him that's really cool when it happens at HS graduation.
sorry to hear about you cousins son victor
Thanks, Bill. Been very tough. He is not taking it well, as you might imagine. Still in a trance, crying, saying he wants to be with him, etc.
So very sad and his parents must be broken hearted.
i can only imagine - terrible
The father (my cousin) is. The mother was bad news from the get go. She was on drugs during pregnancy, did not care much about him and my cuz split with her shortly after his birth. He raised the kid himself.
That's ten times the heartache and pain. I'm so very sorry.
no words to say how terrible that is
Tragic..
Congrats to your son Victor!
Congrats Victor, it's so nice to hear the good things kids do, never enough of that sometimes!
So sad for your cousin, something he will never get over.
That's truly a very sad story, Victor.....I can see why your cousin is not coping.....
congrats to the boys, Victor.
Good grief!!!!!!
Six months to Christmas! Ugh.
Hey, as a kid that was my saving grace...exactly 6 months after my b-day is X-Mas. Spent 6 months planning on what I wanted for X-mas, the other 6 for my B-Day. I'll start the X-Mas list in the morning. ^_^
Good planning.
127 days 2 hours & 55 mins to Halloween!!!
Do not mention any winter holidays....let me bask in this lovely ? June........
Hee hee. Tomorrow sounds nice.
Hopefully, I'll start weeding the flower beds! Veggie garden is just too muddy.....
That's funny Allison!!
That story def sounds fake....don't they prep a body for burial first?
Maybe in that culture they don't......
Sorry to hear about your cousin's son, Victor.
I had a garden party this evening. I didn't get nearly everything done I wanted to but it sure helped motivate me to tackle the weeds and mulch! I love my garden in the evening light. I had several tiki torches burning - it was almost magical ( even if only to me :). Made me realize I really need to get some lighting. But I want to do it right. It seems like it's an art unto itself. Anyone have any experience with landscape lighting?
Thanks, Chistina.
I have wanted to do it for a while but never did. Do your homework because I have seen many that look awful. They should be as 'hidden' as possible and the fixtures need to blend in where they are seen. Good ones are a nice mix of down and up lighting, specimen and larger area, etc.
I agree - I have seen many examples of awful as well. I want to notice the plant or thing that is being illuminated, not be distracted by a bunch of lights.
I've seen a few in Florida that I've mistaken for Seven- Elevens, some people just go overboard...
Yes - subtle and complementary are in order!
Headed to Acadia National Park today. We rented a house on the ocean for a few days. This is my first real vacation in over four years. Hate leaving the garden but the rest is much needed. If I stayed home I'd work on the dozens of yard projects that I want to do!
have a great time!!
You picked one of the best places to relax, will cross my fingers the weather cooperates!! Have fun Songs!!!
Love Acadia....still looks like the Maine of my childhood.....good luck with the lighting.....I made reservations to attend a garden lecture & tour on 7/10...woman teaches at the Bronx Botanical Gardens......
Everyone needs a break. Too bad the 3 days of rain caused ours so more to do. Have a great time on your vacation, even if it is short.
Enjoy Acadia. It's pure delight.
