Got an issue? - Here's a tissue...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Someone tweeted, ' Casey Anthony said she didn't do it. The jury believed her. Then they convicted her of lying. Makes perfect sense.'

Hadn't thought of that!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Probably if the jury believed anything it was that the prosecution did not prove it's case. The burden of proof lies with the State in this case and it has to be beyond a reasonable doubt.

how about at least negligient homicide? convicted of lying? so wouldn't she have been lying to the court too? DUH!
Guess the prosecutors thought they had this one in the bag but were sooooo wrong.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That's a weird one, Bill.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

they offered her ammunity to rat out someone and she turned it down. not saying this is what happened. just that we do not know the whole story.

jen if she did do something like this it will come back to haunt here someday.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh - didn't see that part. Well, it has been said that her father assaulted her when she was a kid and maybe he did the same to the little girl.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Glad to hear this AM that they're finally going to try the Ft Hood terrorist in a military trial. That took long enough.

And often backwards.

Everyone, please take note. We don't allow discussion of these types of current events here. Strong emotions on both sides of the coin generally lead to harsh words and hurt feelings.

You all have edit buttons under your names and I urge you to use them. I've been cleaning up these discussions all morning and some of them have turned ugly. There are many places on the web to discuss this if you care to do so, but not at DG.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL saw that coming

Boy when we talk about posion Ivy, should I say brutal?

Thomaston, CT

Yes, Sherrie, it's all over the place....Round Up got some of it, but I can't spray in the middle of my per. beds....have little, oozing patches all over my legs right now....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I bought that Round Up just for Poison Ivy, I pour it on full strength....kills it dead!!!

Thomaston, CT

Yep, that's what I bought....it killed the stuff along the garden fence, but I have to wait until fall to get the rest....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Forgot to tell you guys.... hubby was weed wacking and of course wacked the poison ivy and it went down into his work boots...man!!! were his legs a mess for about 3 weeks....and stubborn man that he is didn't want me to show him what poison ivy actually looks like so he can avoid doing that in the future...UGH!!!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oohhh that's just miserable .. sorry to hear it Jen.. I have to get some spray too.. think I spotted some back in the woods today

Thomaston, CT

Technu works great if you know you've been exposed...plus it did dry up the largest patch on my leg......

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

just wanted to give you guys an update on the natural mosquito repellant I put on the lawn... no good.. I am getting eaten alive again.. and I put it down before father's day weekend.. hasn't been that long

:(

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i feel sorry for folks who get it easily

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I've never brushed against one to my knowledge. Very few mosquitoes here so far this year,
(I've only seen two lol!!)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I couldn't even count the amount of bites I have at the moment

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ugh. I sympathize. Give spray catnip a shot. Seems to work relatively well for me.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Jen, Weeze, Jan, and Memory will understand this.. when we went to Well-Sweep they showed us which lawn weed to take the leaf and burn it.. smoosh it up and put the oils on the skeeter bite.. boy does it help.. the swelling went down already.. so much better than sprays

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

catnip huh?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

broad plaintain

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I save all my hostility for mosquitoes and ticks.

Despite my understanding of the environment and the food chain, those 2 buggies could vanish from Planet Earth, and life would still go on !!!

New Thread! ☺
