Coffee Break #62 Officially Summer

Thomaston, CT

When & if we can switch back to 'normal' please let me know....

I highly doubt we are going to have an option. I do not belive they can write the html one way and have a person change it on the user end.

Shoot....what good is technology?

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Yikes! The sun rose in the west out here on the west coast today! Actually it didn't rise where we camped. First night camping. We stayed at Patrick's Point state park. We slept in a cloud, literally. The mist never cleared yesterday. Everything was wet this morning. Went thru Redwood Nat'l forest today. Amazing!!!!
Taking a break right now in Grant's Pass, OR. Stopping at some friends this afternoon. Bye. Back on the road.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Sounds like a fantastic trip. Enjoy every moment of it.

Hallowell, ME

I could never believe the size of those Redwoods or Sequoias! Now I know what an ant must feel.

Thomaston, CT

Sounds wonderful, Jan....happy trails!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

think you guys should voice your opinions in the thread for it.. might not get read in here

Just back from seeing Frankie Valli, he put on a really good show.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cool!

Thomaston, CT

He's still alive?

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

- glad I'm not the only one who thought he was dead.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

He's 79
and funny!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow. Can he still hit the high notes?!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL, I thought that too!

Saw Henry Winkler the Fonz doing an ad today - I now feel really old.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

He had help with those notes

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

The Fonz holds a special place in my heart. My son was crazy about him and loved the show on TV. Wasn't it Happy Days? Maybe that was the song. The rain makes my head foggy.

Yes Happy Days - it was my younger time on TV

East Bridgewater, MA

"The Fonz" has apersonal history with WWII Nazi concentration camps (either his parents or grandparents were incarcerated, I think---my memory isn't perfect).

Also, Winkler suffers from a dyslexia, or a similiar learning disability, which made his childhood extremely painful.

I don't know the details, I just remember him climbing up the "Respect" meter when I heard that stuff.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Dang! Only a close call. Maybe next time?

Do you find him slightly annoying?

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

LOL! My GDs would be devastated. It tells you how much real talent he has, they are 4 and 5&1/2 If I hear Bay-bu, bay-bu, bay-bu one more time...

Tonight I used a gift card I got last Mother's Day for a massage. I was sooooo disappointed. The massage was ok, but the atmosphere in the place was like a physical therapist office. The radoilogy group in town has a better atmosphere...coffee, treats, free nail polish...
I used to go to this great place about 5mins from where we used to live, it was in a remodelled victorian house....loved the place...gave you a robe and slippers and something to drink, you were able to take a shower afterwards...ahhhh, I may have to make a trip

Thomaston, CT

A massage sounds wonderful...

Kids are home for the summer. Ugh. ^_^

Proud papa here, as my older guy came home with a huge trophy. He was voted student of the year for the entire sixth grade, as voted by the teachers. There are over 250 students in the grade. He also won for his individual 'team', and won a number of individual awards for gym (Presidential Fitness Award), band, math, etc. Little guy also had a very good report card. The beatings are working!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Aw, congrats papa!

South Hamilton, MA

Do the boys really beat you so they can win awards?

East Bridgewater, MA

Victor, your "investment" of time in those kids is paying off...kudos to them, kudos to Mom and Dad !

ROTFL, good one Iris!!!!!!

Congrats to your son Victor.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yeah for beatings!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee! Good one, Lucy.

Thanks, all.

Just got some bittersweet news too. My cousin's 24 year old son, who died last week, gave life to at least two others with his kidneys and liver. So something positive, I guess.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

that is nice.. but bittersweet

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Bittersweet indeed!

Love those beatings! Congrats to your family! What an honor!

Arrived safe and sound at oldest son's place in Oregon. We'll be here til July 9. Lots of projects for us to do.

I now have 3 rocks in the car. The last one, Jeff suggested we get. He learns quickly.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Jan, and enjoy! Cannot wait to visit that area.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

...well 3 rocks isn't so bad, it's not like 'The long, long trailer' (lol)

Have fun Jan! ☺
