aaaaaawwwwww cute

South Hamilton, MA

We used to make processions leading with the 'bud headed ones & proceeding with the slightly open hat & ending with one and a real fancy hat. Of course if you want flowers, you have to leave some on the plant.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Those sound neat!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I have HH buds on the only plant the germed from seeds I got at Louises RU sept 2009. The orange fungus is starting too.
T sowed 2 kinds ,a black and a yellow. Cant wait to see which this is.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

nice I found a agastache purple pygmy that returned in the garden!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I can't grow a HH with out the rust anymore, it's getting to be maddening!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

You are lucky with Agastache Allison.I expect to see mine disappear one of these years. Apricot went.

Pixie I was reluctant to soew the HH ,but the couple was soo insistant I just did. It wont break my heart if they disappear.
I just LOVE this JI.Prairy Glory from Pirl.

very nice.

Cave Creek, AZ(Zone 9b)

came here to drool...my garden's late. I didn't get here until a few days before Memorial Day and took me a few days to get everything uncovered from pine needles and oak leaves. Finally perennials are emerged and budding but until the start to flower (and after) I will continue to happily 'live' vicariously with your wonderful gardens.

What a great slide show, Jo, and what beautiful, soothing music to go with it. I love it.

You're gardens will be blooming away soon, Sue, and then you'll have lots of stuff to post and brag about, too.

Very pretty Robin, you have some really nice spuria's!

Jo your gardens are lovely, can't get over all the lilies. :)

Thomaston, CT

Thanks.....the literature said spurias don't form large clumps for many years, but the clumps are getting large....I should have enough to share by next year.....

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Ohhh Yesssss ALL the lilies. There must be over 300. Its a long story.
How about a new thread.I'll start one.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Come on along to the new thread:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1192503/

Shure the wording is a bit different but its the same blooms and shots of flowers.

Albany, ME(Zone 4b)

ge1836, what is the name of the yellow lily at the top of this thread?

TIA
LAS

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Salmon Classic. Its an early asiatic and the first pix I have are from early June. It is just now going out of bloom.
Wonderful lily.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Gorgeous visit to your gardens, Allison, Songs, Celeste, Victor, Jen, Karen, Patti, JoAnn and Marilyn! I went all the way back through this thread again and enjoyed looking at the blooms and peaceful places just as much a second time!!

Do any of you Daylily experts recognize this guy? He's a NOID in my garden that has a very large bloom. It's just bugging me that I don't know who he is. He bloomed his first bloom for the year today.

Are you sure it's not Fruit Loops?

Hmmmmm - could be.....my Fruit Loops is in a different location, but maybe I have two. This guy has been in this location for a few years. It sure does look like it though. Thanks, Celeste!

This is the pink lily section. I need to move some lilies.

Very pretty, JoAnne!!

Thomaston, CT

That DL is a beauty, Louise....and you know how I love pink lilies, Jo. My friend, Carole, didn't know why all she had left of her lilies were stalks.....the red devil strikes again!

New Hampshire, NH(Zone 5b)

I was so thrilled that the dreaded red beetles have not decimated my lilies this year! Well on my walk-about this morning I realized that I was visited in the night by deer! No more fat lily buds :(

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Awe, so sorry Songs!

New Hampshire, NH(Zone 5b)

I know. It's maddening! But it/they didn't do too much damage. Just the day lilies and lilies. I have been relatively lucky so far which surprises me since I have so many things that deer like and I see them on my street all the time. I'm afraid now that they've found me I'm in trouble. I really have no way of fencing my yard.

Thomaston, CT

Oooh, those pesky deer! How about Irish Spring soap? My friend's garden hasn't been chewed this summer since she put out a few bars......

New Hampshire, NH(Zone 5b)

Do you just put the bars around the garden or do they have to be grated?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I saw someone hanging them up in old panty hose

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yup and my Aunt used to shave it and make a border around the plants with it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I would try Liquid Fence or Deer Off, along with Milorganite first. The soap thing is pretty weird if you ask me.

New Hampshire, NH(Zone 5b)

I'll have to give that a try. Thanks!

Here are a couple shots from today.
