Love it!!!
Just popping in with a little good news. Both Mom and Pop are being released from TCU to go home tomorrow morning. Of course, that means my nights with Bill will be over. :o( But I'm enjoying having this time with them.
I'm hoping that I can care for Mother. She is still having quite loose bowels, but hopefully it won't be too bad once she gets home. Wish me luck!
Love you all!
Feed her plenty of cheese Joyce. That should help. I'm really happy with this report and I keep you all in my prayers....
Good, Joyce! I agree with Barb - cheese!
Keep her away from Cheerios, I can't eat them any more.
Good morning.
Cookie, that's good news!! Are they up to celebrating their wedding anniversary?
I do hope you're getting some help, so you can rest too.
A tired Cookie won't be of any help to your parents.
I know they need quality care, but you need quality health.
Wish we're closer to help you.
Asians believe a drink of boiled rice water helps with the loose bowels.
Some got the runs with too much dairy, sistahs!!! Yah, Kel!!
Didn't know about Cheerios, Charleen.
Not up to par today. Had some severe reaction to some durn insect bites.
cookie, good to hear the news. will be thinking of you and sending prayers
Thank you all so much. My DB in Indiana said he would spell me some until he goes back to Florida in the Fall.
I've got a luncheon here on the 22nd, garden club here on July 5th, and a pond tour here on July 31st. They'll just have to take what they get! Bertie came yesterday again and helped with the weeds and dang verbena bons. seedlings until the rain and thunder ran us out!
Good Morning Ladies,
Joyce that is wonderful news. But girl, no matter how much you love your mom and dad you are going to need lots of help with taking care of them. It can get very stressful. I know I took care of my late mother-in-law because none of her kids or grandkids wanted her. She played games with us. When she was with me she was fine, but the minute my husband got home from work she played "Poor Me". A granddaughter came and stayed with us for one week. When she went home she told her mom and dad that she did not know how I could do that 24/7. My husband was no help at all. If he wasn't working he was at the bar. Finally I had, had enough!!! Told my husband either someone else takes her or I'm leaving. Like I said none of her kids wanted to be bothered with her so they put her in a home. And those long term facilities are not the best places for elderly people at all. I worked for 18 years as a CNA (until my neck injury). Having to take care of 8 -12 of them a day is hard work and they do not get the good proper care they need. I did my best but it still was not enough. When family members put their parents into these homes 90% of them are forgotten, end up with broken hearts and die within months after being put in these homes. I hope that you never come to that road with your parents, Joyce.
Went up to my mom's and cleaned fish ponds. When I uncovered one of the ponds there was only 1 little white fish. Somehow the raccoons were able to get into it and got all but that one. So I told my mom make it a water garden and just use the other two ponds for fish. The raccoons can't get into those.
Mom said the other day she was out in the back was looking at the trees and noticed this century plant. it's kind of hard to see with it being so close to the oak tree.
I so miss my gardens. My lilies are getting ready to bloom. I planted all of my lilies in one spot. It is a mess right now, I need to get in there and pull weeds.
Love your lily Cindy. And Jaye your daylily is out of this world pretty.
Joyce so glad to hear your mom and dad are coming home.
Cindy, the folks are at a United Methodist Senior facility. They are in independent living and have a nice little place. It was built for them 11 years ago. Anyway, it is just 8 miles from me, and I will never let them be forgotten, even if they have to go inside to assisted living. I told my Mom I'd be there for her until the end, and I will be. I think Dad will have to go inside when she's gone, as his mind is just not good any more.
aw Joyce - so good for you to be there for your Mom. Sorry to hear about your Dad's mind. It's the one thing I hope doesn't go when I get older.........
Cookie, glad to hear you parents will be going home!
Cindy, beautiful lilies!
We have those century plants all over the place here. Just be careful when it dies off, as it will fall and they are very heavy like a log. Anything in it's way, will come down with it. But once if falls over, you will get lots of baby plants from it.
Morning, happy Sunday!
An early morning watering chore done today to beat the heat.
Cindy, that lily is Lollypop, a popular one.
Seems a good suggestion would be to 'buy' out your mother, so you could have the gardens back.
Your Mum must have truly enjoyed your visit.
I've been to Cookie's parents retirement house, and it's something I would love to live out my retirement years. It's a beautiful little place.
Cookie, I am so glad for some prayers answered. You getting some relief makes me ^_^ At least you're able to enjoy summer stuffs.. like your pond tour and garden happenings.
Have the bird population increase? How about your kois and especially my namesake?
Your garden is truly worthy to be included as part of a tour.
Give Bertie hugs for me please!
We know your heart Cookie. It will not be you if you abscond from your parents. Right till the end, daughter, and Lord will be with you.
((((((((((((((((((((((Cookie)))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Debra, how are you girl? Been busy with outside and the grandbabies I presume.
For you girl, another pretty DL, an oldie, but still a treasure. Yes it's pink :D
Maid M, have the 'scratchy' feeling gone from your eye?
Haven't seen you in a while, hope you're okay.
Sistah Judy!! Woohoooo.. mother of 17!! Waving at you!!
We all should be living closer, so I could have Anthony and Julia over. I so enjoy their company last year! And yours too!!!
So..LK..any new fabrics? Come on now, I know you have acquired lots of patterns you'd want to attempt. There must be some fabric that catches your eye, or at least gonna be part of your stash!
Coffee is ready, cinnamon buns and lemon pound cake.
See you all after church!!
Jaye, those are so pretty! yes I got fabric for my stash, just some pretty colors is all. Not for anything specific!
Morning everyone!
Blue Jaye is wonderful, thanks for asking! Growing like a weed, too.
The pond is still pretty murky, but the lilies are blooming like crazy. Had 17 at once a couple days ago. The spawning is over for the koi, so now I'm waiting to see if any little ones survive. The babies from last year have grown so much! Got some butterfly koi babies in there, too. Had an inch and a half of rain and so I'm taking advantage of the couple hours free from the folks to pull more weeds. I'll never get caught up, but at least the big tall ones will be gone!
Afternoon all. Cookie, that is indeed good news about your parents. Sending love and prayers!!
I have been lurking Jaye. They replaced my lens for the eye that had surgery and it has been a pain royal. I am having some serious problems with depth and dizziness. I was suppose to go back down south this week but was instructed not unless someone is driving. Bummer, not to mention my sister is getting "antsy" now that I have been gone so long.
Barb, if you read this do NOT let this bother you. Each person has different situations with their eyes...I should have gone ahead and had the other one done so not to have the issues I am now.
BTW, remember the picture of the Watsui cattle I posted? Well my sister called me last night to tell me there is a new baby. It is red like the bull and very long legged according to her. Momma Cow won't let her get near so she doesn't knows the sex yet or can make pictures for the matter. Of course my first question "how about those horns?" Her reply: " the ears and horns were laid back against the body when it was born, then it shook his head and the horns came out and snapped into place!" Her story and she said she is sticking with it. LOL
Jaye - those are beautiful flowers!!! Such vibrant colour and patterning ^_^
Hopefully tomorrow I will get my camera back (it's with the courier.....) and I can take pictures of my irises! ^_^
Bob's out back, standing on our biggest shed, pruning the Cottonwood tree that's in our neighbour's yard - getting rid of some pretty large branches growing over into our yard. It's shedding white fluffies right now and they're floating all over Everything! Looks like snow, for pete's sakes! LOL
My Indigo bush is finally sprouting some leaves. It's very slow growing, and all the trees are in full summer growth, so my bush has been looking like a "stick in the ground" until now. It's only 4 years old, and the first year it was planted wasn't until Oct, so I'm not surprised it's taking awhile.
Awe, thanks Synda, love the cake.
And best wishes of the day from me as well LInda. I hope it is everything you desire....
Happy Birthday LK....do what you want...it is your day.
Happy birthday LK and many More....
Happy Birthday LK
happy belated birthday sis :)
Thanks everyone! I am 56 today! 18 months older than hubby, and he lets me know I am the old lady!!! LOL!
Happy Happy Birthday LK!
Tell Todd, he got it all wrong! You're the one with the 'more experienced' ;)
Marion, you and I shall Watusi around that Watsui 'titbit'-- of course, your sister having worked with all kinds of animals, she should know right?
Don't risk getting yourself hurt. Drive only when you have healed completely, please. There's only one Unique Maid Marion, and we want you around for another century!
Cookie, hope your pond tour will generate some interests in the koi babies. Perhaps you could sell some, and also promote your awesome caramels :D
Sorry sistah, I'd help you in weeding, but alas.. I'm soooo far!
Keep your spirits up, sistah.. know that we love you.
Susan, I've never seen a cottonwood tree nor an indigo bush.
You're getting blooms, yay!!
I got reallllllllllll illlllllllllllllll. An unexpected illness.
All the while, when Kel was sniffling and sneezing and he said it got to be after the visit to Sis Carolyn's. Allergic reaction to some trees she has..
well, it's a freaking cold! I got it now, thanks to him!!
Ran a fever, throat's sore, nose running, ears popping.. and preacher noticed I was almost nodding away!!
Thank God for chewing gum, to keep me stay awake while I drove home. (Kel was at work)
Feeling a lil better today, thank God. Have to spend a day running arounds. Kel's off today, so he's driving.
Oh yeah, we prayed for rain in church yesterday, and unexpected thundershowers poured for about 2 inches last night. Praise the Lord!
This morning, I see the farmers' trucks passed by the dirt road.
I'm sure they were extremely thankful!!
