Sistah Gathering: Who's coming for an Arm Wrap?

Hello Sistah's ALL!!

Welcome to the Annual Sistah Gathering.

I/We, Judy & Liz/Seedtosser, Lizrainey wish to invite all who would like to join, in person or Cyber.
Also, Kim, Flamingokim

Gathering: Friday August 5th thru Sunday 7th.
Glenview, IL

With this being such a harsh year, I know that not everyone will be able to attend.
You will be with us in Spirit, thoughts and prayers. We do hope you will be able to join through the garden, if not in person.

OK, so here is the run down...Liz & DH are to arrive on Friday here in IL. We are planning to travel to the Cottage in Wisconsin Monday or Tuesday
so if any one wants to stay longer and see/visit the cottage you are more then welcome...

Kim lives approx. 45 minutes from here, she has extended invitation to anyone who needs a place to crash! lol, great accommedations!

Please let me know if you are coming, planning to come, so we can figure out what to cook and how much, lol.

I've been waiting 2 whole years for my turn, yippee..it's time! Come one, come all.

Oh Judy, I so wish I was able to attend this year but alas things are not so I can do it. I certainly will be there in spirit and in cyber space keeping up with all the events.

Me too!! Darn gas prices anyhow. I keep telling Doug how bad I want to be there. He said we could do it if we rode the bike all the way. But I do not want to leave my pup alone all that time by herself. Going to check on flights maybe will do that and come for the weekend. A BIG MAYBE!!!!

A BIG MAYBE here!! I'll be checking on flights too. I would love to be able to fly to Modesto for my 20th year reunion the weekend before, then fly to Chicago for this reunion, then fly home but that would cost a lot so that's a dream waiting to happen.

Won't know until it gets closer and Dave has a job.

Cindy I have always put my dogs in a kennel for a few days and they do fine, my mom puts her beagle in a kennel for weeks at a time and he always comes back fatter than he went in! Of course that costs money too!

Here waving, have dates on a sheet to ask Paul for some vacation days, he doesn't just like approving a day here/day there so who knows..might have to book an entire week..

Now if Debbie was up to coming, could always slip by and pick her up in Buffalo, only an hour or so longer ride..might even ask Ann, get her out of the house Judy!!!

off now to check if that's the same weekend as my Elvis Festival in Collingwood, already confirmed with group of friends I'd be going with them...drats, my social calendar is filling up fast.

Things are not looking good for me either. Who knows what August may bring though.

Joyce, did you see me wave on my way through Friday morning??? Was going to drop in but thought you would put me to work in the gardens...I'd have gone for it but not sure the other ladies I was travelling with would have! lol

Betty, I thought the Elvisfest thing was the weekend just before the gathering...

Cindy and Crissy, you know, I understand, hope you'll be able to make it, have been looking forward to meeting you Cindy and Doug.

Well, I guess time will tell, not giving up hope...LOL, Dates has been set pretty much for 2 years.

All I can say is, you thought out well. This gift will only affirm how much she's loved by friends that she has yet to meet.
Sometimes friends can be more thoughtful than family.
You are truly a gem, Judy.

I will have to be a maybe also. I am looking at knee surgery but haven't set a date yet. We will see how things go and just go with the flow!

Hellooo, Sistah's!!

Yippee, and yahoo, the time to gather is fast approaching.

First I want to offer Heartfelt Arm Wraps to you all.
Times have been somewhat tough this year for Many.
My prayers and Good thoughts are with you every day, weather I post or not.

Since I have joined DG, I have had the most incredible experience in sharing
the Love, tears of joy and sadness...Celebrations and collaborating on everyday life.
You have all been a major part of my life, my happiness and pure joy of each and every days gift.
It gives me great pleasure to be a part of your life as well, and the best part is
the gatherings, from my first Round up and meeting Jody and the Upper Midwest group
was the Beginning of the Armwraps extravaganza!!
...Back then, I was so very sad, lonesome and very much digging the deepest of holes.
Betty, my best friend from the very first day of her joining, supported me in every way possible,
from months and months of private d-mails encouraging me to come and post on BW&L..
Ahhh, and as we chatted, who did i get to meet, but Liz, the other pea in my pod!! Ha, we became fast friends, sisters in a matter of a few posts....As time went on,
I became a lurker!! LOL, I lurked around SI for quite a while, Drinking coffee with LK's and the sistahs.
Hahaha, laughed sometimes until my sides hurt. I was afraid then to jump in because I thought it SI was a
"family" thread, lol, sis, tante being the words, I just loved this group of ladies as much as I love all in BWL.

Why Do I tell all this? I once told Betty of a dream I had of meeting each of you...
These gatherings have given me the greatest pleasure of the dream!!

This years dream became reality to meeting Barbara and Norm!!
We got to armwrapped right there in the parking lot!

They lovingly opened their home to Our Family.
Aunti Jean and Joyce are still talking about the wonderful people you are!

Little giggle, it was certainly a wonderful change of plans for the wedding.
If that didn't happened, I would have waited till next year to meet Barb!

And just this past week!!
Another mini gathering...Thunder and I got to meet.

As you know, Thunder's son just graduated from the Naval Academy right here in Illinois!!

I have always said...Things happen for a reason. While Thunder's son was graduating, we were to be home
instead of at the house for this weekend.

Something happened to where Thunder, Dave and Momma were stranded at the hotel...
...NOT if i could help it!! LOL, plotted, plotted and plotted until I could find a way to get them here!!
ROFLOL, as many of you know, I don't give up and this was one of those times.

Answer, His name is Dave and boy what a real sweet heart he is!

AAWWWWWW Now I'm all warm and fuzzy inside Judy! Dave (my Dave) still doesn't have a job and his unemployment has run out :( :( :( :( :(

One of the most incredible things about all the gatherings is We get to meet family and friends of all we meet...
This mini gathering was no exception!!

She is pretty remarkable herself! Did you know she carves wood?!?
Dave found a nice limb from our pile that was when i learned of this, lol had i known i would have sent her home with an entire tree...LOL.

And in return, Thunder, Dave and Momma got to meet just about our entire tribe, All at one time!!

Which included Skittles!!
Thunder has birds too, and to my delight Helped herself to playing with Skittles, who was thrilled to death.
Skittles even shook her finger hello!!

...(Thunder, maybe you could post the pic of Skittles doing the NO-NO with Dave) I did' take that pic.

Judy, our armwraps will have to wait till another time also. Just too many Dr appointments going on. I will be in San Angelo, TX. that week-end, getting an ultrasound, and evaluation for more test.

Aww, Linda Kay, Big happy smile though...As you know my nephew and family just moved to Arizona!!
That means we will be visiting them, So our Arm Wrap could very well be in the nearest future...

I giggled in delight, when we were scanning the routes to Arizona...A side trip to Tx would be very doable as far as i am concerned!!!
Then, Giant Arm Wraps would be in order, one for each gathering we've missed each other!!

Until then, you and I will continue a toast by the fire, wink!
