Plant Propagation part XXXVI based on my own experience

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

Quote from Jnette :
........

Then this witch came out carrying her, still asleep, and dropped her on the floor from about 4 feet up. I don't know why she did it. Maybe she thought it would wake her up.

Jeanette ~ I cannot believe that! WOW! How horrible! I have never heard of anything so cruel, to the animal and to you! Have you thought of suing?

Now we have no animals left. Maybe after we do a little traveling we may do that again, but not ready yet. We miss Midnight, which we had for just a few years, and Sunshine, over 20 years!

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

Did I cross-post? Sorry, Jeanette!

It was sunny early this morning and now it is cloudy, with rain predicted for later today or tonight. The ground is still wet from the last storm. I did a little weeding yesterday in one of the sunniest areas. Sometimes too much dirt comes up when the ground is so wet, but I am afraid that summer will arrive without warning and then the ground will be tight and the weeds will be taller and the roots larger...it is a constant challenge.

We all do our best....

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

No Evelyn, I just wanted to get out of there I felt so bad for the little dog. Here we had done that to her and then they treated her like that. But, fortunately she was still asleep.

How much of your yard needs weeding? Bob got one of those killer Caines (don't know how they spell them) remember those? He got it at a yard sale. Years ago my neighbor in Seattle quit drinking. So, instead, every night after work he would go out in his yard with his Killer Cane, and work on dandelions. It was not long until his lawn was absolutely weed free and beautiful.

They had some kind of pellets you put in them and then filled it with water. Go to each dandelion and put the point of it on the dandelion and push. It would squirt just enough fluid out to kill the plant. I am thinking that Roundup should work as well. What do you think?

I have done a lot of research on them and as far as I could tell they don't make them any more. Of course not. Anything that works they will stop making.

Where is that JB? I think she is sitting in the corner sulking. We teased her about her complaining about the weather so she won't talk to us any more. I hope that is it and not the hurricane took her. Kind of like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. Only Barney would be with JB, not Toto.

Never could stand that rotten little Dorothy.

Went down to the hoophouse to check the tomatoes. Took time to water them, it was pretty hot in there. Even tho it is in the 60s outside.

Linda, when I get the seeds I am going to plant them right away. Now is when the plants seem to know they are expected to grow. I put some Coleus in a little medicine bottle of stuff the Euphorbias had rooted in so good, and the Coleus rooted in 2 days. Now I know they do root fast, but have never had them do it that fast.

Gotta run, I'm taking up too much of your time just blathering. ttyl,

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

howdy:
now Jan you are down where I moved from. my family moved away and the relationship I was in ended so I did not see much to keep me there so i moved back to tulsa. I do miss the beaches.

Jeanette: even though the season is long it can go all season and not have anything from it or you could get hit by 5 or 6 little hurricains/tropical storms. its all a crap shoot. jan is in a good spot though. the hurricane would have to form in the gulf to hit her. that or make a completely un-natural turn coming out of the atlantic. The thing that got me was when the fronts would roll in. I would want to have my head removed. the pain was unbearable.

well not much going on here but the wonderous heat 96 today and an ozone alert day as well.ozone is from the exhaust and lawn mowers and polution build up. we get too many of those days we run the risk of the EPA doing some thing to our manufacturing and businesses.

well have a great day

I am still here...........just been busy learning to get aroung Cubits and setting up the store and the color scheme. I love building a website even if it is so frustrating and confusing because I am really not very good at the terminology. I am getting good. I only have four items in the store, but I had a nice sale already. I have also learned how to set up PayPal for all sales no matter where they come from. I can also invoice the people from PayPal. Not sure if I did it correctly now I need to sell something and see if how it works. Never to old to learn.

Sulking about what you guys say................no. I have been smartmouthed by bigger and meaner people than you all. It just runs off my back and I sit here and smerk.

About the weather...........it is beautiful, cool, after 5 days of 90 deg. heat, the winds are wild and strong and all the nice wet ground is now dry and blowing around with the pollen.

I have a tomato on my one bush already. The bush is only a foot tall and the tomato is the size of a ping pong ball. Cute as heck. Green too.

I know you all do not care about Cubits and I do not want you to think I have abandoned you all, I am just one for trying all avenues to make a buck. Nothing will ever replace Daves Market Place.

Speaking of money..............................................
I told you I was going to give the truck to the HorsePark. Well, we went to start it the other day and it will not start. The starter needed to be replaced. We replaced it at a cost of 189.00 for a new one that was the price with a discount, son in law is doing the work, and it still did not start. Today I had my friend who works for my garage man to come and see what he thinks and he said it needed something else, so we got that $80.70,,,,,,,,,guess what..........still wont start.
My SIL is ready to tear his hair out and now all we can do it laugh about it. So, Monday I will call my friend and tell him he was wrong. Thank God the time my SIL is putting into it is not costing me anything, except he may decide I should move to Florida. LOL

The wind has whipped most of the flowers on all the trees and bushes away. They were beautiful too. The irrigation hose is out and we are beginning to irrigate the veggies as well as the plants. The baby trees are o.k. for another few days but all we need now is a long dry period and I will have something else to about.

Hello to all, I see a few of you on Cubits.......take a look at JBsPlants. Tell me what you think of the colors, etc. I am off now to Facebook.......my social schedule is so busy.
I am going to hire a secretary to handle my appointments. Nite all. JB

Dave, I hear ya on the head issues, the first week back DH and I both came down with sinues infections and coughs that we are still trying to get rid of. While living in cleveland I developed sinues disease and had two surgeries that really didn't do much in the way of long term cure. I also developed asthma that I'll have to live with the rest of my life, I don't know how kids or others that are worse than me live with this disease. Now I'm told there is red tide that folks with asthma are very sensitive too.... oh my, but really right now I'm just so thrilled to be back where it is hot and there is a breeze blowing all the time along with the most incredible skies in the USA.

Linda, I feel for ya, our blessing of being owned by a four legged companion has it moments where it nearly rips your heart stings apart, but for all the broken hearts that I have from lost companions I would gladly do it again. Over the last 2 1/2 years my collies (6) is now down to 2.

I'm so glad to be back on daves regular to check in on yall, as I've missed everyone.

Well, I am now in Vancouver, WA. Had a delightful train ride from Seattle to Vancouver. Never seen so much water. Rained off and on all the way down and then when we got to thr house it poured.

Today it is sunny. I spent the majority of the day on the couch. Did not feel up to par. Where I hit my upper back was really painful. Had ice on it the majority of the day and two Tylenol seems to have helped.

Vern and Lynda are out to Target. She has no patio chair pads so they are picking them up.

I toured the landscape earlier and it is a disaster. Vern saw me and told me "I was not to take on the landscape". Mostly over grown and not edged. The soil is very dark chocolate but has the texture like putty.

Our female schnauzer fell in the pool. They heard her from our bedroom and rushed out. She was on the step. It was after dark. She goes out the dogie door which is on the opposite end of the landscape. She never goes in that end of the landscape. Our daughter called us two days later because they did not want us to worry. She is 12 soon to be 123 and I think she has dementia. She has already had cataract surgery and recently had her eye exam and she got a clear report.

I think when Vern and I get home we will probably not leave again.

Stay safe and I will return. Sharon

Brooksville, FL(Zone 9a)

Oh Sharon what a fright yuo girl must have had. I hope she recovers fast from it, so if your thoughts of her having dementia are true then she won't remember it and the better off she will be. Look for small blessing to help you.

Jan

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

Welcome, Jan, to our little section of DG. We all carry on about our weather and our animals, neighbors and other things, but occasionally we dicuss propagating as well. Seeds, cuttings...etc. We come from many parts of the country as well. Mostly Dave and JB are near the tornado zone. And the rest, you will learn by bit and pieces....
Gracie is a beauty. Lee has a new puppy. JB and Linda have birds and JB has a dog too. Jeanette has a cat, and Katie has 3 dogs and possibly a 4th.

Tell us more about yourself. Have you lived in Florida long? Are you near the beach? What kind of gardening do you like to do?

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

Whoops! Sorry, Sharon and Jan, I cross-posted! And Sharon, I am also sorry to hear about your dog. It is hard to leave your animals at home with others. Now that Sunshine is gone we may go to Florida next winter to visit my son and his wife. They have cats and it is hard for them to get away as well.

Jeanette ~ Did your cat try to eat your mouse?

JB ~ No snow, but on the 1st of June we had hail....

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

By the way, I don't think I said that we put my dog down, she did not die when she was tangled up. We cooled her down and she seemed like she would have been ok, but we could not take that chance. So much property to get hurt on when we were at work. We both live well with that choice for her, though it was late.

Glad you are feeling better about your kitty with a plan.

Poor doggie, in the pool. My old lady from above had dimentia. She would go to the door, scratch, we let her out, sat down and she would scratch to come in and repeat it, she stared crawling under the desks when I was on dg and my h was on his computer too. Sad, like a human when they lose it. It breaks your heart.

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

LOL, no Evelyn, the cat didn't eat the mouse. The dead mouse is still here tho.

Yes, it is easier to get away when you don't have animals. Don't know why we got more cats. The dog is so old that she probably isn't going to last another year or so, but doesn't matter 'cause now we have the 2 cats. LOL guess we weren't meant to travel anyway.

The cats may not last that long. I got up at 2:30 this morning to go to the bathroom and sat down on a wet toilet seat!! I was so p.o.ed at Bob until I realized it wasn't him. He wouldn't do that anyway. But the cats!! Playing in the toilet water.

I went in to see if they had water in their bucket. (I have a small bucket for their water) and it was almost full. I dumped it out and filled it again. Shut the bathroom door and went back to bed, but by then I couldn't sleep any more. I read for a while and finally got out of bed. I just now woke up in my chair after sleeping about an hour and a half.

Pawleys Island, SC

Hi everyone, my kitty slipped out today ( she hates being indoors) but she is under the bird bath, so I didn't bother her. I will make sure she indoors before dark. The dogs cannot find her if she wraps herself around my planters. LOL

Jnette, cats playing in toilet water? LOL that is too funny! mine won't go near it. she loves the big dog bowl for water, but she won't get it any where else.

I set up 3 propagators this morning and as soon as it cools off a little I am going back out to take some cuttings. I will let you all know what I start.

Jnette, I will probably send ya the seeds on Monday. I know nothing about germinating them, but I am researching the plant and if I find anything I will let you know.

Evelyn, did it ever warm up any? You may have to come my way to thaw out a little.

Jan, it is nice to see you. Your Gracie is beautiful.

Dawn, did you find a hope for the shar pei you were trying to adopt out?

I may actually go to work with the vet ( part time) that is taking care of my cat. I have been a stay home Mom for 16 years and I really need to go back to work. ( plus it will help to support my garden and jewelry supply spending. ) I need to write a resume' but I don't know where to start. 16 years is a long time without a job except for volunteer work.

Oh well, gotta run. It must be time for breakfast or something.....
See ya

Wrightstown, NJ(Zone 7a)

Stopped in to say Hi, send hugs and love and out again.

I have so many orders I will be busy again tomorrow getting things ready to pack and ship Monday. Can not complain. I do not know what happened. All of a sudden.

Weather was cloudy today. Good weather to work outside. Watered everything I could with the hose and if it does not rain tomorrow we will start laying irrigation hose on the baby trees. Pray for rain, please. It spritzed a bit a few minutes ago but nothing else. Just dust.

Gardenias outside are all pushing new buds and blooming like the good girls they are.
I just love those Aimees. No bugs anymore either.

You all sound like your cats are really fun. Mine are just barn cats and yet they do have personalities. Barney is their friend but I am not allowed to touch the female black one.
She will get close but if I put my hand down she swipes at it. So forget that crap. Those cat scratches can get really sore.

Hope you are all well. I will see you tomorrow. Nite.JB

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

I can't remember which Shar Pei it was. There is a really wrinkly guy that just came in, with fox tails all over him poor baby. We love our mutt Pei/Bull Terrier mix we adopted from the rescue. Our Blue Pei just had an eye injury and 2 weeks later a fox tail came out. I just knew it. Luckily I had treated her with antibiotics and Teramyacin ointment on her actual eye. I was going to take her to the vet when it came out. Those dang things are like the plague.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Well I made the rounds of the nurseries today, purchased some plants to redo some planter boxes on daughter's porch and went to the State liquor store. Vern needed a little more Vodka and some vermouth. I could not believe the cost of liquor here. About $20 more for thr same size in Vegas. Much be taxed to hell.

I woke up this morning with no pain in my back shoulder area. So it has been a good day but I still have not done much.

I think right now I need a nap. I may return. All is good at home today. Sharon.

Brooksville, FL(Zone 9a)

ibartoo

make sure to put all your volunteer experience on your resume. Even though it was a non paying it still counts as experience.

Jan

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Linda, Jan is right. I was going to say the same thing. Also for heavens sake get and use references. Letters from those volunteer positions are always nice too.

The cats and the dog drink together from a small bucket. But even with that the cat dips her paw in and out, in and out, until she gets waves going and then she drinks it. I thought maybe it wasn't high enough so added more water and she still did it.

My sister's cat likes to watch the toilet flush. I told Bob if these cats ever learn to flush the toilet we may lose one or both.

Linda, if those Queen Anne's Tears bloom like that, I am sure they are fertile.

JB, That is great that you have all those orders. Where are you getting them? On Cubits? Are they for the 2 yr olds?

Sharon, I think Washington is even higher. I think we are 2nd highest. Can't think who was worse. Might have been Oregon. OH, that is right, you are in Washington!! Yup, pay up.

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

Rain and wind today. I potted up the plants that Dave sent along with another order. I did this on my back porch as it substitutes for a greenhouse.

Now I sowed some seeds for indoors. I don't usually do this at this time of year. Just sown in place in the garden. Too cold and muddy right now. I sowed four o'clocks, coleus 'Pallisandra', calendulas, castor beans and Zinnia 'Green Envy'. LMK if anyone wants any of these seeds. I have enough to spare. If I know before Monday, it is possible that I would mail them on Moday. I am a notorious procrastinator. But since I have a lot of office work and things to get ready on Sunday, I could include them in my list. I have other seeds, too. Ask if there is something you want, I probably have it. Flowers and veggies...LOL!!

Tomorrow we are scheduled for thunderstorms, but "they say" it is supposed to be warm starting on Tuesday and even warmer for the next few days after that....

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

Quote from Jnette :

I once knew a fellow who did have a low toilet with a long handle and trained his Siamese to flush. Also he had a low handle so he could open a door. Hmmmm....

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Quiet today.

Feel better Sharon.

I bought some plants from someone that was on Cubits that someone from the day lily trade told me about and she said she did not get my paypal money from 2 days ago, paypal says she isn't a paypal memeber but the email account is the name she gave. grrr! It says the money is not claimed or something.

Wrightstown, NJ(Zone 7a)

Hi everyone,

Just finished processing all the paperwork and postage labels for tomorrows shipping.

Jen, to answer your question, the three, eBay, Cubits and DG are all doing well. DG was way ahead until I went back on eBay. 81 people looked at the Jasmine since I put it up a week ago. I am all but sold out. I think I have 5 left. The gardenias are the 1 year olds for $10.00 that are selling. The Goldfish plants are all but sold out also. One person took 5 of those. I guess I am just lucky. After this winter thank God for some good luck.

They are out irrigating today. The baby trees are taking a licking with this wind and warm weather. The rains just miss us by miles and they are predicting some showers this p.m. but it is very sunny here now and just about in the 70s.

Barney was not himself today. Oh Gosh I worry he will just up and die on me some day.
I will be so heartbroken but I have been there before.

Take care, have a great day and be good to yourselves. Where is my darling Dave. I need to talk to him. Hugs JB

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Barney is fine, he is a tough cat. He's like his owner. Glad business is doing well.

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

Hi everybody! Just checking in. Can't keep up with you, but hope everyone is taking it easy in this heat.

Did I mention that I work in retail for Metrolina on the east coast? I agree with Dave when he says if you see something you like you should snap it up. Very often I hear people say that "you had so many last week" when they come in looking for something.

We ship to Wmart, Sam's Club, Lowes, and several grocery chains. We also have a service arm called Plant Partners and we have people go and rotate through stores doing merchandising, maintenance, inventory, etc. It's a great job. Unfortunately I hurt my hand on 5/26 when I was at a Wmart to receive a delivery of plants. You know what our carts look like? Steel, about 8' tall x 4' square, 3 - 10 shelves, depending on the product. Full of plants. I think this cart had Boston Ferns on it in 1.5 gallon pots. I took the brake off it and started to steer it when a friendly Wmart empee said from behind, "need some help?" Before I could lean around and say no, she gave the cart a friendly shove from behind sending it immediately out of control. The cart was on an incline, they don't stop on a dime.

With a customer trying to exit around the cart, and me trying to push against it to stop it, I didn't see the steel post behind me until it was too late to do anything about it. Fortunately it was a glancing blow. I suffered a crush injury to my right hand. Still having problems with pain in my wrist though 6 views say there are no broken bones.

I am thankful - I think it could have been a lot worse, but I am not optimistic about returning to work soon. Metrolina won't let anyone work with any kind of restrictions. It's my dominant hand dammit, and it's inconvenient. :/

Well that's what's new here. Upsetting me too that even with this "time off" I can't do anything in my own yard. Geez.

Have a good night!

A.

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

OUCH!

What is a lawyer working for a place like that? An injury is what pushed me into retirement, as there was that same rule about working without limitations. I am sorry to hear of it. I hope that you heal quickly.

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

I quit my lawyer job. I'm a full-time student at NC state in the forestry department getting a master's degree. So I have a summer job. I've been with Metrolina for 3 seasons.

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

JB, that is great. So glad you are doing good even if I do treat you mean. And really, don't worry about Barney. Just enjoy the time you have with him. Feed him good and don't make a baby out of him. Animals can sense how you feel. He will be fine.

Sorry for your accident Amanda. That rips. What in the world was the woman thinking of?

I have never heard of hiring people with a "no limitations clause". Don't they have "light duty jobs"? I thought that was a Federal requirement. State? Don't you have Workman's Compensation? Labor & Industries normally gets into the act if you are on any kind of disability. I can't believe that Washington State has this and nobody else does.

Jeanette

Pawleys Island, SC

Amanda, That sounds really painful. Hope it feels better soon. Are you getting your master's in forestry? Sounds like a good switch to me.
Jnette and Jan, Thanks for the hints. I meant to put the resume' together today, but I went to mom's and cooked seafood instead. That was much more fun.
JB, glad you got busy all of a sudden. I am hoping to get busy too. I can't wait to start the propagators. It got too hot yesterday and I didn't get any cuttings done.
We got a thunderstorm earlier and it actually rained for about 1 hour tonight. It was awesome. We haven't had rain in more than a month and everything was hurting.
My gardenias are in full bloom and it smells heavenly outside. my jasmines aren't blooming yet though. I am enjoying my daylilys too.
Hope everyone is having a great night.
Linda

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

Jeanette ~ That happened to me as well as I was not allowed to work light duty at my last job before I retired. After 4 surguries, I never recuperated to qualify and then I retired.

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

Hey everybody.

Jnette - comp is controlled by state law unless it's a federal job/employer I suppose.

We have comp. If the job is 100% physical labor (which essentially this is) there's nothing they can give me if I am not supposed to be doing anything at all with my right hand. :/

The employer's obligation is to "accommodate" the injured employee by giving them work within their work restrictions. If they have such work and the employee can do it then they have accommodated the injury. If they don't have anything, the employee sits out as long as there are work restrictions and receives 66 2/3% of average weekly wage. Which sucks. As if my weekly wage were a king's ransom. ;)

Thanks for the well wishes. I am going to try to make the best of my time by catching up on my thesis research (masters degree is in environmental analysis and assessment).

A.

Wrightstown, NJ(Zone 7a)

Morning Everyone, Just a drop in again to say all is going really well. The Cubits store is up and running and completely finished. eBay is really moving along also and the Market Place has all but died. A few orders I got the past few weeks never paid and I end up canceling after a few weeks of holding on to their plants. Really troubling. No particular reason I guess. The other thing is, people can not find individuals on Market Place, they must shop by plant names. But, the Plant Scout is great because it sends them directly to your website. You do need a website to do that of course.

Dave, where are you? Please take a look at www.http://cubits.org/JB/store and see if you do not think it would help you to do one. I now know all the people who can help you get it done. Come on Sweetie.......where are you? Are you well?

I am sorry Amanda. Follow your heart, my dear. Life is long and whatever you decide to do you will be doing it for a long time. I personally would tell the "law" to go fly. The stress and time is as bad if not worse than being a medical doctor. Do you really need a Masters to do what you want to do? Of course if you like to study, go for it. Maybe I am speaking out of turn because I must admit I did not read every post completely.

Off I go to pack plants. Love you all. JB

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

JB - you are right on. :)

I tried for years to make a lateral move out of my trial lawyer pigeonhole. Unfortunately, everything is becoming more specialized and competitive with downsizing and job loss.

Felt like it was time. I don't mind studying and am good at it. Wish I didn't have to incur the debt. I also hope it will have been worth it on the other side. :)

keep you posted.

A.

Pawleys Island, SC

JB, i think your store looks great. I need to do that too. I may call on you to help me set one up. I really don't want to go work for someone else ( even the vet, ) if I can sell enough plants to keep myself in business.

Jnette, seeds are going out today.

Hope everyone has a good day.
Where are katie and Dawn and Lee?

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

JB the store looks great. I will be doing one wednesday. I am also doing order's. reduced my plug and 3 1/2" pots to unload the excess. I have 7 orders today. and feel like a 3 legged cat in a room of rockers. I will be on later.
Dave

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

JB, all I get is a network error when I try to bring your cubits site up. Wonder why. How did the rest of you get it?

Also JB, my Aimee is losing her leaves. They are turning brown, some of them, and then dropping off. Other, perfectly healthy green leaves are falling off. HELP!!

mulege, Mexico

Hi everyone,

I'm safely in Chula Vista. Barely. My trip up the Baja was fine until I got to TJ where I got lost and drove around for hours on a hot Saturday. Got to CV at 3 am Sunday. I'm still stwitchy but I delayed/cancelled my visit with my friend in Exeter and found a whole lots of new-to-me light reading at Goodwill so I am going to find a quiet shady spot to recuperate. Am grateful that I'm well enough to know I need some down time and I'm NOT depressed, etc. My foot is much better and reading will allow more down time for it.

I'm up to five dogs now that Scout looks to be permanent. One cat who live in the garden room and Chocolate the Cat who belongs to Dana and Tom but stays in Mexico while they are in Washington so is ours for six months of the year.

REading all the posts I've missed over the past few days is helping me to recover. I really lost it in TJ and am amazing I did not have an accident (I think I barely avoided several hundres). As I was driving down one street an ambulance with its siren on came up behind me. I was the only driver who pulled to the side of the road for it to pass. The roads in TJ get closed off and changed regularly and they do not mark things well. I have already resolved that I will NEVER let what happened Sat happen to me again. I had some kind of meltdown.

Anyway, I am recoveing and will spend five days with Amma in LA strating Friday. Actually, I think she was with me Saturday - otherwise I don't know how I survived unscathed, except for stress.

I'm still sort of twitchy but I know it will pass and I am going to keep myself safe and quiet until it does.

JB, wonderful to hear of all your plant success especially after all your struggles.

I have a bunch of seeds that came to Chula Vista while I was in Mexico so I'll be able to look them over while I'm resting up. I'm often better at planing my garden than I am at doing it. I'm very lucky to have Tony to help me.

Tony will take good care of the dogs and cats and plants while I'm gone. It will probably be quite hot by the time I get home and the work on the arroyo will slow down if not stop although we do have some shade down where we are working.

I am now going to join all of you who are recovering from your various injuries and I wish us all well.

hugs, katie

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

Jenette:
you have to drop the extra www.http:// on the link. I think the site modified the link.

Wrightstown, NJ(Zone 7a)

Morning, This has to be a first. Was everyone out of town or are you all mad at each other. What happened to all the chatter last night?

Today is a beautiful day and so far so good with heat, but they are saying we will be back with the 90 deg. heat tomorrow. Oh well, crank up the old AC.

I am sure my truck, the one I wanted to give away, is possessed by either my deceased husband (it was his truck) or a demon. After a new starter and another new part and more testing, etc. it still will not run. It turns over, but will not run. I am going to have it towed in to my garage man and he is going to put it on the machine and see what the heck is wrong..
That will be another hundred or more so I have decided to get it fixed, inspected, license renewed ,. insurance and put it up for sale. I hate selling it, but I have to recoop my losses.
This small town, I can see it all now, someone will buy it and then it breaks down for some stupid reason and they come back to me and say I sold them a piece of junk. You just can not win when you sell things to people.

I have seven more orders to process this morning and pack and ship so I must go. I hope you are all o.k.

Dave I will be looking forward to seeing your store. What is the name?

To all of you , thanks for the nice comments. I appreciate it. Lots of hard work but it pays off.
I will stop back later to see if anyone is out of bed. JB

Pawleys Island, SC

JB, I am here, I got busy outside this morning and actually transplanted seedlings and started some seeds to germinate. I have a few more things I want to do, but now I have have to wait until it cools off this afternoon.
We just got rain for about 3 minutes. I hope it will rain again.
Gotta run,

JB, You didn't answer me about my Aimee. She is losing leaves. Some are turning brown first and others are just falling. Healthy leaves. Others are curling. What do I spray them with? I put her under the spray in the kitchen sink to see if I couldn't get whatever it is off but that didn't help a bit.

Yes, with Dave's help I did get your site up and it is pretty cool. Glad you are getting results.

I think the lack of chatter last night is due to Sharon being gone. Don't know if she is back home yet or not. I thought she and Vern would be home by now. I don't think that the wildfires in Arizona are near them. I think they are in the southern AZ. Hope not anyway. Guess nobody would let the fires near Las Vegas. LOL
