thanks... all cuddling nice tonight

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

They're looking good, Allison.

Patches is shedding like crazy these days, but she sheds year round it seems. Short hair, but what a lot of shedding. Jerry has hair like a Lab without the undercoat. So far no shedding at all on him. Is that typical of puppies? Can I expect him to shed when he's older? I'm hoping he won't.

Karen

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

no clue

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yeah, never really thought about it but I don't think puppies shed, their hair is still coming in

Geez Wall-e is blowing his coat like crazy, I keep using the Furminator on him, looks like I shaved him, that's how much hair I brush out everyday...UGH...next dog short "boxer like hair" dog

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Cliffie has been shedding. He inherited the thick labrador undercoat. It helps to brush him almost daily with the "de-furilator" tool. I can sometimes fill a wastbasket in one sitting with the pale undercoat hair. His outer hair is more like his poodle parent. In a week or so, he'll be wearing his summer coat.

Ronnie, that photo is a keeper! Allison, those pups are wonderful.....

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I used to be a medium size dog person.. or even large if I liked the personality.. allergies started.. cut out 1/2 of what I can have.. and it only took one trip to Michele's .. Wily made me fall in love with him.. sat on my lap for 4 hours straight

Thomaston, CT

Suey is the smallest dog I've had....since I left my parent's home...and she's 50 pounds....

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Cutie pies, Allison!

Abbey sure isn't picky!

Hope, Dad and I took Jerry to the beach today. He loved the water! Loves to swim. We are sure he is part Lab. Here's a link to pics: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.231024063590965.79672.100000501200615&l=b566dee387

poor dear, getting water in his ears? He looks like he is enjoying himself.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

looks like he is loving it!!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

He really was having a great time.

Karen

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

was that his first time in the water?

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Swimming, yes, though he has been in a kiddie pool at our house. We knew he liked the water, but didn't know if he'd like swimming.

Karen

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Eros always plays in the kiddie pool .. Pepper as a puppy used to dig in her water bowl.. LOL.. wonder if these guys would like it

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Wouldn't hurt to try.

Karen

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Pepper used to just crack us up with the digging in the bowl... of course there was water all over and she was covered head to toe.. like she was trying to get her reflection in the bottom of the bowl

Our brand new baseball stadium is a few hundred yards from an animal shelter and they will be doing fireworks often! Many are concerned for the animals.

Thomaston, CT

OMG....those poor dogs! Mine would be total basket cases....Karen, you're such a good mom....Jerry's one lucky dog!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh those animals are going to be freakin' out!

My Keeshond jumped out of the 2nd floor window of our old house to get away from us shooting off fireworks over the lake in the backyard

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

How terrible! What happened to him?

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Loved the video of Jerry swimming!!

Diesel love the hose but wouldn't get in the kiddie pool.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Not a thing happened to her, we walked back from our neighbor's house and noticed the window screen on the front lawn, we knew exactly what happened because she did the same thing when she was a puppy. Called the township to see if anyone found her and they did she was 2 1/2 blocks away, a guy found her and put her in his yard until we went and got her.
When she was not even a year old- I was getting ready for work and she always waited for me at the top of the stairs, I noticed the curtain blowing out of the window, looked out of the window and see the screen on the lower part of the roof, I ran and got her leash, was like "why am I getting her leash, she's got to be dead" got outside...nowhere to be found....I'm running down the road at 7AM yelling "Haagen Dazs, Haagen Dazs!!!" Of course everyone is like "who is this crazy lady selling ice cream at 7 in the morning?"

Thomaston, CT

Jen, that is too funny! Glad the dog was OK...

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh is that funny

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

LOL!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Diabetic in need of a fix!!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, Victor, I would be very concerned for the animals. I know my poor Jerry would be terrified of fireworks.

Jen, way too funny!!!!!! Glad he was okay both times.
