Yucky day. Outdoor trip with the young one to a local scout camp. Ugh. 59, overcast and humid.
Weather in Your Garden # 96
huge thunder storms in the middle of the night and raining hard enough to think about an ark
Rain overnight. At this rate I will be missing most of my SDB iris seedlings. 50°.
Wow, Bill - the lightning and hard rain missed us so it must have kept to the south. The skylights are wet (my reliable indicator lol) so it did rain some in the night and it's pretty damp everywhere with 59 degrees here right now. The rain has been steady but relatively light here over the past week, so it did more good than harm in the gardens.
Thunder all around us last night, but not much here....the sky is mostly sun right now, I'm blinking like a mole, but on my way to WFF's Tomatomania.....
Pouring as I type. Kinda spritzy all morning.
rain rain rain
Surprise!!!!!!
It's raining!
Amazingly, we got the entire field trip in. Hearing some distant thunder, but nothing yet. 65.
About five minutes of light sprinkles around 10:30 but all sunshine and light breezes since then. It's 58 and gorgeous.
Glad your venture out was a success, Victor.
Oh boy. A whole day without rain (so far any way.) There are clouds and the radar doesn't look good but I'm going outside after my snack. I have no where to go tonight so I get to do what I want. A miracle.
was hoping to go out and play today after Celeste left... still more rain rain rain.. just took a nap.. LOL
63°, no sun, but cool & dry, with a slight breeze from the South at 8 mph, cloudy.
Rh 81%
At our high for today of 63°, dropping to 51° tonight with a chance of a thunderstorm.
what is that bright light in the sky???
Just saw part of a rainbow.
Wow did it POUR here!!!
Hubby was on his way to Lancaster County, PA for a conference. They think they saw a tornado in the distance.
Whoa! Scary! Thunder has been rolling around for several hours now, but no rain here....lots of hail to the towns west of me....
2 practically dry days in a row. Yowzer! oooh, spotting a tornado would be pretty scary. The sun came out late today and things looked so pretty....the white birches and the new spring green and emerald grass were jaw-dropping. Still 60 degrees here and it's almost 9:00 pm. Love these cool nights and the morning sounds of the Mommy birds feeding babies all around us....tree swallows, robins, chickadees, phoebes....awesome! Florida is nice in the winter, but you can't beat the beauty of New England in the spring, summer and fall. It's beautiful in the winter too, but not so great for gardening and golf. lol
Sounds beautiful Louise, I love spring green.
Well, discovered what all this rain has been causing.... Weeds! Spent an hour just in one bed and then thunder, lightning and rain. Rain is the new normal. Perhaps I need to learn to work out in the rain. What a mess here. Course the trees have never looked better. My rain gauge had 3-1/2 inches in it. That was for a few days though.
Right now it's foggy and 55. Scattered showers forecast. Taking an herb preparation class today. Need to go prepare.
finally getting a break today.. and I say break because I see more rain in my 5 day.. the weeds are out of hand here as well
The weeds went insane here!
Here too. Hope they pull themselves out!
Gorgeous. Sunny, breezy and 70.
Looking forward to my dinner in Queens with friends tonight. We have access to an outside area.
Have fun! Partly sunny & 65 here right now.....yes, the weeds have won the war......
Very foggy, 59, no sunshine - thankfully. If the sun comes out it will be intolerable.
Great day for buying hostas at a nursery closeout - 3 gallon pots for $10.00. Same price for hydrangeas & ferns. I scored big time! They sold out of all clematis the first day of the sale, which we missed since they don't advertise except for a sign at the side of the road on weekends only.
Enjoy the dinner, Victor. The world is supposed to end at 6 PM so get there early and enjoy a drink before then.
71°, with a slight wind from the North at 3 mph, clear skies.
At our high for today of 71°, possible thunderstorms anytime until nightfall, tonight's low about 55°.
Thought it was 5. Supposed to be midnight Jerusalem time.
Thundering in the distance....pouring rain a few minutes ago....will this never end?
Heavy downpour here just before we arrived home from our daylily acquisition spree. 65 degrees here now and the weeds are lush and beautiful. Glad Hank mowed the upper meadow yesterday. It looks like velvet up there now and the huge turkeys are dissing the hunters by strutting around the meadow in plain view. They seem to have caught on that this is a "gunshot-free safe house". Bailey and Carli find their arrogance offensive.
Well, an exceptional day. It barely rained at all and for a time there was bright sunshine. Wow what a novel experience. Got home at 3 pm and worked on the weeds until 7:30. It was just amazing. Just think of all the compost I'm going to have soon.
It spritzed here around 6 pm. Other than that it was a beautiful day. Sunshine!!
yes sunshine then showers here too.. was a great day
No rain here at all today, totally clear skies until the clouds rolled in about 4pm and the temps dropped, 57° now, dropping down a few more degrees overnight.
1 shower went thru around 5:30 fog is rolling in
Brrr...46 this morning and cloudy, should get up to 63 today.
oh that is chilly... 58 here going to 64.. showers tonight
59 here and supposed to reach 68 with only 20 percent chance of precipitation. It's chilly and grey but I'm going outside! I have so much to do.
after coffee & breakfast.. I am right behind you!!
55º going to 66º. I'm right behind Candy and Allison after a home depot run. I can't believe I need more mulch.
53 going to 60, cloudy, breezy. I'm behind everyone else!
Mulch is worth it!
