Well I am not proud. I asked for 7 pieces. So I think there will be enough. Mine might still live but I want that Black Bamboo on my to do list in the back of my head gone.
I was just checking in. Gardeners are on their way so I am going to deadhesd some irises and roses.
Dawn, let me know when you get your box and I will tell youi what you have. Sharon.
Now Dave, you have told them what I am sending you. Many many landscape pots. Smallest is 1 quart. I think 4 long boxes. Dave and Jnette, Evelyn, are on th list for Black Bamboo. Did I miss anyone. I did not like the way it looked. The neighbor bought plants that are over 10 years old. Must have paid a fortune.
Later, Sharon.
PS: Brian's bath rooms are done and he is back home. Also got him a new front door.
Plant Propagation part XXXV based on my own ex
Hi everyone. Spent the morning with Theresa and we cleaned the house and birds, moved all the tropicals outside that were in the GH except the cuttings and them we planted the new hosta I got from some cutie in Oklahoma. What adorable plants. The area really looks great now. I am so pleased. Off now to transplant some begonia stock plants.
Here is a picture of the biggest Aimee stock plant , the yellow iris and on the right are all the 2 y.o. Aimees and you can not see the other Aimee stock plant. If it gets cold now I am really in trouble. Oh well, at least the aphid can get lost outside. That will make it easier to clean them out of the greenhouse. I am tired but I have grass to mow today too. Later.
Sharon I do deeply apreciate you sending those to me I am in need of them so your timing is fantastic.
Looks like the neighborhood is doing its garage sale thing here in my neigborhood so I will draga couple of flats around to the drive way and see what I can get drummed up in sales. So if I disapear over the weekend its because of overdoing it in the driveway. at least I don't have to cart them all the way across town and then set up and tear down. I was so greatfull when the family let me go lay down and they unloaded the truck for me.
I am working with a friend across town who is planning on opening a little garden center/nursery next spring. We will be planting most of the summer for next springs sales. I have a feeling she will busier than she really knows. They are suposed to build the ends and put the plastic on the hoop house this weekend. I will most likely go out next week and see if maybe we can get some form of a plan to add in a shade area, display gardens and gift shop area.
JB did you do very good this spring with orders? DG just invoiced me for the second time. very reasonable price for a selling format.
well have a gret evening
Dave
I'm still trying to shake the last of this cold.
Neighbors Dana and Tom left yesterday - without saying goodbye. Thank God Tony is here to help keep me sane. I just cannot understand neighbors who behave so badly. Oh, well, with them gone we can start moving the dirt Tom had put on his property to ours.
I've not heard from Scout's owners though rumor has it that they are having some problems in their relationship so I'm not too surprised. Scout has adapted well to being here but I know she misses Jon.
Our weather is heating up but at least we'll be neighbor-free. Wish their weirdness did not bother me so much. It just seems to bring up some old issues which I'd rather leave buried and unremembered.
Planted the seeds of some purple cup and saucer vines yesterday.
The really good news is how much better my foot is. I was so worried and in so much pain that it took a toll. I do wish I had more energy to work outside before the real heat sets in but one of the many nice things about having Tony here is that all the basic watering raking, etc gets done even when I can barely move. Tony is happy because I leave him alone while he works and I don't bug him to do more.
I have some little plants coming up - cherimoyas, arhats and goldenberries. I'm hopeful that the goldenberries will do well here. I got another 5 grams of seeds from JLHudson so I can share them with my gardening friends here. They should do well with poor soil and hot weather. Maybe a new cash crop for our little town.
Back to bed.
Thank you all for being here.
hugs, katie
Dave, Hi, I wanted to thank you for shipping the hosta and they are just beautiful They sat in water for a few hours and perked up like they were in the ground. We planted them and they look great. Thanks so much. Yes, my sales were very good this year but not on eBay because I did very little online selling other than DG. I did well on the Market Place and Plant Scout. It is amazing how many people look at the plant scout. eBay has changed so much and the automatic invoicing makes me crazy. I always end up refunding money or asking for more depending on where the plants go. I hate it and I have complained but they do nothing about it. Everyone gets invoiced automatically and they try and figure their own shipping. Therefore, if your plants weigh less or more, they are way off and depending on the shipping costs it can be a pain in the neck when you have to refund. It also costs a fee to refund on Pay Pal. Off to eat. Have a good evening.
I have planted quite a lot in pots. Even roses, because of gophers mostly. A few were bulbs that I did not want to overtake the garden because of size.
They all are doing well, and many have been in pots for a year or two. Even some perenials came back from nursury pots that I had not decided where to put them, when Fall came.
Will do Sharon. My h is home tomorrow so he can go get them for me. Otherwise Saturday I will pray they come or else who knows how they will be by Monday.
Thank you again so much.
I worked to hard today. I am tired and cranky. So I am going to bed early. I will check in tomorrow.
Hello Busy Bees: Don't you love that feeling of complete exhaustion, hungry but too tired to eat, out of energy from all the activity and movement, but did not loose any weight, well that is me at this point. Theresa and I worked so hard yesterday I am barely able to function today, besides it is Friday the 13th so I will be watching every move I make. I hate being superstitious. LOL
All is fine now that the plants are out of the GH and I sprayed the baby amiee that are in the greenhouse again today. Hoping I can get rid of the aphid PDQ. I sprayed the outside plants also except the big one I need to mix another batch of spray.
I am cutting my Holiday Cactus to plant and I am going to do it the dry way this time. Where you leave it callus over ....I never did it that way but I will try. I hope it works for me. I usually start them in water for a few weeks and then plant them. Always have great luck that way.
I am treating the Jasmine with iron and nitrogen so the leaves come back to green. The winter has just been a mess with me and my plants. Not enough sun and too much cold.
Must make some phone calls. Take it easy and I hopefully will get back to you all later today.
Dawn: you should be able to winter over most perrienials in pots, unless you get a lasting blanket of snow. I know we get warm spells which helps mine winter over. of course I have to watch them more because they dry out between cold snaps and I have to water everyone. Its pretty easy with the sprinklers all being set up already just have to make sure there is not any ice in the hoses.
well its a cold snap and I feel it so I am moving some flats out front for the sale tomorrow and going to take it easy the rest of the day. we have a little cort yard where I can put flats and not have to worry about them walking off....I think....I hope...lol
anyhoo have a great day
Dave
I slept well last night, boot splint and five dogs and all. Feeling much better today
I brought back three bluerries and one papaya from Logees So far they all seem OK. The p[apaya lost most of its leaves but is showing some new growth.
Have not heard from Jon and Sharon, owners of Scout the visiting dog. Jon had told Tony he'd be back in a week and it's more than that. Luckily, Scout has adjusted well to being here. I know she misses Jon but I was her original "mom" and have seen her oftern since she was adopted so it's not all new for her. She and the other dogs are getting along well. No new peeing on the bed.
I have a bunch of little plants ready to be potted up. Things really pop in this weather. I have plumerias blooming and in bud. Two pomegranites have small fruit on them; the hummingbirds will be happy. They got all of them last year. I didn't mind as the birds are so much fun to watch.
I think I'm over my meltdown from yesterday. Amazing what a good nights' rest will do.
Wish you could all come down and we could have a picnic at the beach. I need to check if the seaweed is washing in yet, or if I missed the window of opportunity.
My friend who used to sell on ebay has stopped due to the problems JB mentioned. She now sells on craigslist.org. If you have one in your area (whatever it is) and you sell plants you might want to check it out. It's free.
hugs, katie
Katie, it is all your fault.............BARNEY WET THE BED LAST NIGHT AGAIN. Every time
we stopped for water, he drank. I was so tired I did not make him go out when I got up to go and this morning he got awake and a few drops leaked out and I screamed so loud he has been pouting ever since. Stripped the bed and now we are all clean and smell good. LOL
I will take a look at Craigs list. I must be sure the little buggers are out of my GH first. Yet, he said I could sell everything but the aimees. I have chosen not to just in case. I need a break anyhow.
I hurt today, that cold front of Dave's is here too. It is to rain all weekend off and on. This is the big international jumping show here at the park going on since yesterday. I hate when those horses jump in the rain. It scares me. Have seen too many accidents on dry land, much less wet when those big guys go down.
Back to work. JB
Right, Katie and JB ~ About ebay that is. I used to sell a lot on ebay, but now not at all. Meg should have stayed at ebay, but we all make poor choices from time to time in our lives. I used to have so much fun there and now, I buy on occasion, but do no selling.
Well, they are predicting a "chance of snow" on Saturady and rain for the following 5 days. After this beautiful day...?? I will not plant out any tenders, and put them all in the basement, again! Some are ready to be planted and others, since they are still seedling size, well I should probably bring those in as well. I was hoping to clean out the inside areas and start some new seeds, but what is the point if I can't take them outside. Oh, yeah! I will start some of them in cell packs or containers outside no matter what the weather. It is so hard to keep them all watered and I don't know how you do it Dave, unless you have an automatic system. Since my setup is temporary on the back porch, I dare not bring in a watering system. I either take them out to the hose or water with the watering can, or syringe, depending on their size. This weather has been so erratic, as I have been wanting to plant my cannas and gerberas, but would like for stable warm weather for them. I know Steve would like me to move everything off the back porch, but there are no plans for a greenhouse in the works.
I had no sleep last night. I got a couple or so hours in the morning. I have to get some things planted today, so I will be off. Then hopefully, I will be able to take a nap. We'll see, as I rarely can sleep during the day.
Have a good day all!
Well Evelyn, I took the leap and put a lot of mine out on the deck yesterday to water them and decided to leave them there. Don't know. You are right. It is suppose to turn cold again next week. But, we are to get rain, haven't heard the 'S' word yet.
So, I am debating. You are also right about it being so hard to water them all when they get big and crowded. I suppose if I leave them outside I should plant them in their permanent pots and planters. But, hate to have them uprooted and in a state of flux when it turns cold.
I am so crazy today. I get to working on something and have to do something else and screw it up. I sent Bob to the bank to fax a form to the credit union and it was a blank form. So, he had to go back down there. Altho, he didn't mind, the bank is having a BBQ today, celebrating their new building. So, he gets another cheese burger. LOL. Hate to use the gas to go twice tho.
When I bought my printer I didn't get one with a fax machine because I need it to little and they are so big and bulky. Take up way too much room.
Well, got the dog's food on the stove, so don't want to mess that up too.
Jeanette:
i scan some things on my all in one but the fax is so sparse I don't even hook it up and say its broken. lol
Evelyn I was planning to ship to you on monday but I will hold it back a week since you are having a cold snap.
Dave
Evelyn it is like last year. Remember we went to Tahoe last year Memorial Weekend and it snowed there for that weekend and the previous weekend you were buried. It is so odd.
My plants have not arrived yet Sharon. I did not get a notice but went to the post office to check anyways. They said maybe tomorrow, but otherwise Monday. OMG! I will freak out if it is not here tomorrow. I will be worried that they won't make it. I don't know how you packed them, but hopefully they will be fine. worried mommy of young plant pups. tap tap tap taapping.
I have buds all over everything but still only some things are in bloom. later than other people in the area. Wonder why?
Sorry the bladder problems have passed on to Barney.
Got an email from Sharon who said she and Jon have broken up and he may be in Canada, Scout seems fine here and five isn't that much more work than four.
Got some cherimoyas and other things potted up. It's just hard to get going and by noon it's too hot to do much of anything. I think we're still relaxing now that Dana and Tom are gone. They are both very critical of me and Tony gets as upset by that as I do. We are bgoth happy with the work we are doing and we have our goals tht we are working towards. Neither of us cares about keeping up with the Joneses or presenting ourselves as better than others. We're both so happy to have our relationship which works well for both of us.
Will get more seeds started tomorrow and the outdoor plant room more cleaned up. Tony did the dishes today. He is so helpful and non-macho. I've told him to tell his sons tht if they learn to do dishes without a fuss they will never lack for girlfriends.
I'm having some pea soup that I froze earlier for supper. Then to bed early again.
hugs, katie
Greetings!
I wonder if your forum is just for nursery folk or for amateur propagators like myself too? :D
I'm relatively new to the boards as I just subscribed but have been a DG member since 2006. I've become more interested in propagation in the last several years so I thought this might be a good place to land.
Have a good weekend!
A.
Welcome Amanda
Amateurs are most welcome here. Be forewarned that some of us are a little nuts but was are usually pleasant and easy to get along with.
We do a lot of chat on this thread but those who have information gladly share it and can make referrals to help you learn your way around.
kb
I also welcome you, Amanda, We all share with everyone, and if we don't know the answer, we ask. So ask away,
Jen, I put all my stuff out, anthiurium, orchids, bougainvillaea, gardenias, hybiscus. Today I am planting all the cuttings I took two days ago of the yellow, white and orange christmas cactus. Did you know the Easter Cactus is also called the Spring Cactus and it is very different than what some people say they actually have. Hmmmmm. I called Hirt yesterday because they sent me three Easter Cactus and none were marked as to what color they are. My answer from them was, "when they bloom, look it up on our website and you will see." Not only that, but they do not say they are patented. God know is the ones I am selling now that I got from them are patented. That is all I would need. Anyhow, I got annoyed and called the what I thought was the grower in Canada. Seems they get them from Denmark. And, they are patented. I just spent money for nothing. I wanted to propagate them and sell them. I wonder if a plant patent in Denmark or Canada is good in the USA?
Hello Katie, glad you are better. Now, stay that way. My back is killing me and I am not sure if it is from the Crestor or arthritis. Or from being on the tractor mower for two hours on Thursday. LOL
Hello Amanda....I am the only one who is normal on this list and you must remember that anything said here, stays here. We are a very nice group of individuals who get off subject frequently but when it comes to propagation there is not much we do not know or have not tried and failed and are willing to share our information.
We are also very knowledgeable about aches and pains and the problems with aging. Those we share also. If you are a very serious person who does not like to giggle and tease, then I suggest you just forget about this forum. I personally think you should stay and learn what you can. We are good. We propagate almost anything that grows, including tropicals. houseplants, garden flowers of all kinds, shrubs and these people can start seeds from anything. I must confess, I get naughty sometimes and say bad words.
I was writing the last paragraph when something went crazy and it was completely lost. If a paragraph turns up somewhere and makes no sense, it was me. It had to do with the location of most of you being in the west and Ibartoo and me being on the East coast. I also said Dave was our fearless leader and RJ a gentleman who flies in and out here and there. Otherwise just chit chat.
I am sending a picture of a solar plant that I think we all should say to H with the live ones and get these. Have you seen them? The more light they get the more they move back and forth like a clock ticking. They are adorable and I think I will sell them instead of live plants. No bugs, no fertilizer, no dirty finger nails...........just a little plastic flower. They are sold at Dollar Stores for $1. I love it. Then it does not take much to make me smile.
Love and hugs. I am off to the International Jumping competition before it rains. I hate watching those cross country events when it is slippery. I have seen horses and rider really injured badly.
LOL, JB, go ahead and sell them and I would guess you would find out soon enough if it is illegal. :?)
Amanda, what JB said is true, (not the part that she is sane) about what is said stays here, except that anyone in the world can come on to our forum and read it. I hope she doesn't actually believe that. As you can see, she is off her rocker again. No sane 82 year old woman would ride a tractor for 2 hours and then wonder why she had a backache. You would think that after 82 years she might have learned something. Guess she has to take the second 100 years.
Now how many SANE people would try to propagate a solar flower? Enough said.
Well, we have a gorgeous day going out there and they are saying thunder and lightning storms this afternoon. That figures doesn't it?
I did leave all of the plants outside. They look pretty good and love the sun. But, I do have to get them planted in their permanent planters one of these days. They are still in 4 inch pots.
Got a call from Big R that my trailer license is in so have to go down to Spokane and get it. Then the woman handling my mtg pre- qualification called again for more information. I have a feeling they are going to tell me to sell my house and then go buy one and not try for a mtg. Anyway, she said I could drop it in the night deposit drawer and they would see that she gets it.
So, gotta get busy and ready to go. Everyone have a great day, and will ttyl,
In other forums on DG I have received the same welcome peppered with comments of sanity or lack thereof. :D
I don't have to tell you that I feel quite at home. I love the idea of propagating the solar flower. Mine died several years ago and I'd love to trade if you have extra! :D
Thanks - I'll check back soon.
A.
LOL, the Walmart greeter is a big joke in our office! Yes it does suck, but I'm looking at it as an opportunity to do something else. My neighbor who owns zone9tropicals.com and I went to look at property to open a nursery and green houses. His partner also works for CO, so ya never know..it may turn in to something grand! Always something!
My tree fern made it through yet another winter and freeze.
C. Australis
Hi RJ what a beautiful place to sit, relax and have a cold one. Yes!
Just got back from the Jersey Fresh. I actually was working. I had to go up and pick up the money and bring it back and get the deposits ready. I have been doing this for years and before that I did it for the State of NJ when they had their Sire Stake Races. They called me the Bag Lady because I would take thousands of dollars out of those races in bags of any kind and color I could find. I never did the same thing twice and never got robbed. I made many deposits in banks all over the State and only once did I have a scare and that was at night when I did a drop up in North Jersey and a car blocked me in at the drive through. I was very nervous but had my 38 with me and a big old former Marine beside me, so no one bothered us.............LOL.
The jumping was fun, no one got hurt , only one girl went off into the water and the only thing hurt was her pride. These riders and horses come from all over the world, this is a pre Olympic event and if they get lucky they may end up on the Olympic team. I always have a reserved parking spot and I was praying it would not rain. It did not rain at the park but it did rain at the farm. It was soaked when I got home, and it is only about 10 miles up the road. You never know in NJ if it will rain on one street and not the other in the same town. Crazy state even weatherwise.
One more day and we can get back to normal. The stadium jumping and awards are tomorrow. They start early tomorrow but I do not have to be there until noon again, so I am good. I did not get a thing done here today. I want to make stake labels for the cactus and the darn label machine is making me crazier. Have a good evening. Must go close up the GH and feed the dogs. Nite all. Crap, it is raining again.
Good evening:
welcome Amanda. yes we are all a bit off our rocker some more than other's. I do suggest you read the first post and if you would like to print it I have it in word doc form. And I thought I had lost you. did you finally get your daisies?
well i managed to survive another garage sale and did quite well at it not like the one at my parants but we had a local festival going on and I think it took a lot of the people away. Time to get serious on selling the surpluss plugs off. I just have to get the shipping thing figuired out but its down to tape the box and fill it as it would be in an order and the weigh it to get quotes so I don't eat anything on shipping.
I did find a funny thing yesterday. I was moving trays to the front cortyard to make set up easier and I had a flat of lavender I had sown early in the spring marchish that I had forgotten all about well the those little babies were ready to sell. still a bit small but the looked good anyway. I harvested seeds from my mother-in-laws in oregon and it was last year (or was it the year before...lol) well they did so well I am thinking of doing a bunch more. but where will I get the room? greenhouse is full of seedliungs and cuttings. I guess its time to move out the seedlings to make room.
RJ: Please promise me you will have leagal contract, agreement or something to protect your interests. I have seen too many friendships colapse because of the Ole "they are my friend theyed never do that". I don't care how well conected you are to them if there is money involved it will do funny things to people.
I am planning to have one in place when we get the garden center/ nursery up and running next year. And thats with me having my own operation in my tiny back yard.
JB: I kind of pictured nascar on horses when you talked about the contest in the mud. I am asamed to say it bit I did chuckle a little .... ok ok a good giggle but thats my warped brain.
so now down to it Amanda do you have any questions? concerns or thoughts to share? Tell us all about yourself. ok now stand up and let the whole class look at you while you tell us..... sorry I couldn't help myself. made me imagine all the times I changed schools mid year and had to tell a story about myself while all the kids looked on.
As you will see we have very few secrets from each other and we all have a story. mine just happened to be spread across what is it now 35 revisions of this thread we all call home. I can be reached at pughbear7@hotmail.com
I hope I did not run you off Amanda. I have tried to hide from everyone but they seem to find me. I wonder how that happens? As you can tell the sun cooked my brain today or was it theother issues i so enjoy?
Have a great weekend everyone
They tried to run me off with the same stories and yes indeed they are true, however it takes one to know one, so I am stuck here. Welcome to the KooKoo's Nest.
I got my package today Sharon. I have no idea of what I have, but thanks for all those plants. I have them soaking in the sink as they were very dry, put some kelp in too. Ya know there was this whole big deal with my stupid post office. They gave me a package key to open the package box, but oddly nothing was there, so we figured he gave us the wrong key or put the package in the wrong box. Bingo. The post office was closing when I went to tell them today. I said, "They are live plants and will not be by Monday night when I get home." so he came with the master after hours and let me in to the other box. I was so upset, but grateful to the man for coming.
Amanda I don't know if you are a youngin or not and I sure did not think I was until I found out that Dave and I who are 48 are the kids of the group. These woman here are piss and vinegar, if I am allowed to say that here. In a good way. lol
I definitely do not know what I have, so please tell me when you can. I hope you are feeling better. I suspect not with your quietness.
Welcome, Amanda!
I think you will enjoy the folks here. Yes, please do tell us a bit about yourself. What kinds of plants do you grow and what kind would you like to grow? Do you get snow in the winter and blazing hot in the summer? Or do you get a gentle rain at night 5 days a week, and warm sunny days with a gentle breeze?
JB ~ I think it best to research the plant patent. But you would probably do that anyway. We don't want to have to visit you in the poky.
rj ~ Yes, Dave is SO right! I once got stuck in a business partnership and when they go sour, not a pretty sight. I had to learn by experience.
After a few nice days, it is supposed to rain with the possiblity of snow. I worked outside for most of the day, though it was cold and breezy, so I wore extra layers. The rain is supposed to come tonight, but so far, not a drop. Yes, Dawn, that was last year. I was hoping that we would not have any late snowfalls this year. The lettuce, broccoli, parsley, potatoes and peas are doing great. I think the stevia is going to come up once again for the third year. It is supposed to be a tropical plant, and I pulled out 2 of the 3, saving the best one. I will probably trade it, as I do not care for the flavor of stevia. I will wait and see how it does first. Maybe save the seeds if no one wants it, and try to develop a hardier plant....last year it got down to 17°, but that was under the cover of snow. This year we had wind with the snow, and I do not remember the temps. I will check tomorrow and see what the weather brings. I may bring in the tomatoes I have not yet planted and cover the one that I have.
Steve got a tractor and has been pulling out manzanita until the chain broke. He had a good fire going!
Have a good weekend everyone.
I love Manzanita, they take forever to grow. Why are you removing them?
I know something she sent me is garlic bulbs or ornamental garlic bulbs, because my hands smell bad.
LOL, so Sharon sent you some stinkum? Beautiful poppies Evelyn. I thought you burned Manzanita on the BBQ. Or is that the stuff that burns and smells like tar?
Your are right Pughbear, Good advice. I do not intend to partnership at this time, I've already had my fair share in a retail import store which was fun, and good experience- We had the partnership drawn up by a lawyer, and were no problems. There were 4 of us, and we all had full time jobs plus the store- lots of work!
I would just work there and let him sweat the big stuff...but chicken before the eggs!
JB that kind of sounds like the wild west there with your 38
I think business is hard enough for big companies, but having your own small business is even harder, add a partner and their issues too....
I rented a house to family one time and because of them and my x, they made me lose it.
I agree, it was very difficult, and expensive. We wisely played it like Vegas, and agreed that our investment was the gamble that it was- and considered it a loss right off the bat. We did pretty good for novices- I learned how to make my own magazine adds and run the advertising, then went to Thailand - Bangkok and Chiang Mai - purchased furniture and home decor- I had arranged a 40 foot container and filled it up. Must say it was the best shopping experience of my life...I'll take that, that and that- turned into ...One for the store, one for me, one for the store....- then had it shipped, only to encounter the only west coast shipping strike in 2 decades...mind you this container is enroute in October for our busy Christmas season. The strike lasted weeks, and was able to re-route it to the east coast and rail it to Houston. One small victory in time for Christmas left little to celebrate as our country invaded Iraq shortly after. We all looked at each other and with out saying all knew it was time to throw in the towel...so we did. It was a great experience though, and I always say that these types of things are schooling for things yet to come!
OK Dawn, the very tiny white clustered bulbs that smell like garlic or onion is iphelon. ** Copied from DG Plant Files(All the Ipheions and their related subspecies are native to South America (southern Brazil, Chili, and Uruguay) and are called Spring Starflowers. They are great naturalizing bulbs for Texas and the southern United States--but in Texas they should not be confused with either the Prairie Celestial Lily (Nemastylus geminiflora) or the Prairie Nymph (Herbertia lahue). These two species are both native to Texas and quite frankly very different with very obvious flower and bulb morphology differences from the Ipheions.
Ipheion uniflorum and other related Ipheon species bloom earlier in the season in my garden and have happily naturalized in areas with good drainage for 20 years. Gardeners love the Ipheions for their very early spring blooms!
All the Ipheion species are hardy, permanently naturalizing harmonious bulb species in the southern United States and if allowed reseed themselves will hybridize yielding very interesting color combination.
Those bulbs will make you 500 next year. They bloom very early in the spring.
The 2nd small bulb is a white rain lily. The 3rd larger darker bulb is a pink rain lily.
The very small tree is a Japanese Blueberry. The small plant that looks like grass is a plant that gets two to three feet tall, spreads like a weed and looks great, especially in our harsh desert. There were the near white California poppy seed, marigold seed that was de-headed from pots for sale at garden centers. The larger plants with leaves and roots attached is a Black-eyed Susan that spreads by root. Blooms all summer. You can cut off the leaves and they will pot right back. I ran out of room.
I am suppose to have the Black Bamboo on Tuesday so I will send Black Bamboo and Cannas at the same time.
My worker and I spent from 8am until 5pm yesterday cleaning the garage. Everything is back in its place. Nothing left to plant. I did plant a few hardy hibiscus back in the holding garden. They might still be alive.
Lee, I collected some columbine seed for you yesterday.
Dave, your packages are going out tomorrow morning. No plants yet. Those will go out Wednesday or Thursday.
I have PT Tuesday and Wednesday.
All is good, just worked to hard this week and wore myself out.
More rain in the North East. That is not what the Mississippi River needs.
I read an article in yesterday's paper that the world is coming to an end on Saturday, May 21st and 6 pm EST. What is your crystal ball telling you Dawn?
Lee sent me some campanula glomerata roots. They are taking off.

Cross Post.
I vote for simultaneous post...lol
Sounds better unless it is JB or Jnette. Then it is definitely CROSS......LOL, Sharon
ROTFLOL!! I can't contest that!
That's not very nice you two. LOL, JB is always cross. Posted or not.
She must be drunk again, haven't heard from her today.
It is raining, but so far no thunder storms. Still have my plants outside, but it is 60 degrees and the rain won't hurt them. It was 98 in the hoophouse today. Suppose I better go down in the a.m. and check my sister's greenhouse.
She called from the coast and said they had gotten some bad gas in Long Beach and having problems with the car. No mechanic on Sunday so they took off anyway and last I heard from them they were in Northbend, almost to the pass. So, maybe I will email her and see. Wonder if her phone will work in the pass. They sure don't in the mountains around here.
Hope they get home, she said they got a bag of oysters to split with us. Wonderful on the BBQ.
There's nothing like bad gas Jnette!
LOL, was that a BAD pun rj? Especially in a car.
