Don't do it Crit! STAY AWAY from the CPs!! I spent somewhere near a million dollars on CPs and killed them all. LOL

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

lol enid! I bought a VFT a couple months ago and had it out when we were having a rain shower, when it started to HAIL! Broke off what few tiny leaves/mouths it had. I still have it, waiting to see if it will regrow. Years ago I had a larger one, don't know whatever happened to it. That was 30 yrs ago.

Hornell, NY(Zone 5a)

Well we're back on the Hudson River again, this time near Poughkepsie above NYC. This computer is awful, probably older than my Lincoln. I really need to buy a new laptop for trips. We're working through today, traveling to Albany and North Country Sunday, then home Tuesday or Wednesday. Area is beautiul this time of year around Hudson, we're near Washington Irving's "Sleepy Hollow" and " Rip Van Winkle's Bridge". Yes, they are real places right here in Hudson Valley.

I'll be back in a couple of days

Al

Sounds like a lot of fun ,Al. Be careful and take lots of pictures. You know I'll never get to see those places otherwise.
Look what I got blooming today. My Tango lily!

Mine died too - I do need to go to the greenhouse and see if they have it again this year! I really liked that plant; gave some to the neighbor too, hers died...must not be a very good liver!

Here is my walking Iris today. It finally decided to add more than 1 or 2 blooms at a time.

Mitt, those Iris are just amazing! I'd love to go lie down in the middle and just breath it is. They smell so good and the colors are breath taking! Thank you so much for those you sent me last year.
That is wonderful to get second place Nettie, I bet it was beautiful.
I have a bad head cold this morning with watery eyes and sore throat and stuffy sinus head and coughing so I am off to bed again. Will check back in later but wishing you all a great day!

Thank God Nettie, they are ok. I saw on the news where tornados tore through a hospital area and drug people out the windows in Joplin.
So sorry for those people. Prayers go out to them and families.

Hornell, NY(Zone 5a)

Wow - You folks are making the national news, a total mess in Joplin. Hope everybody is okay still. My Army days took me through that area some 45 years ago.

We're back home again after working and touring the Hudson area a few days. I didn't get a chance to fly because of mechanical problems with the planes and weather wasn't that great anyway. We may make one more trip through that area in mid June if things work out.

We did tour Washington Irving's home on the lower Hudson. He was well known author, statesman, and international traveler in the 1800-1850 era. Irving wrote the classics "Legends of Sleepy Hollow", "Headless Horseman", and "Rip Van Winkle" series of short stories, among many others. He lived fairly modestly in a smaller "cottage" type home and farm off the Hudson river as compared to the many huge mansions owned by the filthy rich there. He was a great entertainer, though, and had many important visitors to his retreat in the woods. I've got a few pictures to show later of the beautiful grounds and area.
