I think the Baltimore Orioles must have decided to fly directly to Marna's this year as I have only seen a few and very briefly. We do have the Orchards though and here is a lovely female.

gardenpom - nice capture of the Swallow-tailed Kite. I've been seeing some birds in the sky in the evenings whose wings have a V shape from the trunk of the body, not like your kite, though. It flies real fast. I'm gonna crank up the shutter speed and see it I can get a shot of it this evening.

pelletory - sweet shot of the Snowy Egret!

nanny_56 - nice pix of the Balitmore orioles and Goldfinch. Pretty colors.

burn_2007 - that was a great shot of the angry Brown-headed Cowbird.

ducbucln - nice series of that poor crow. I glad it survived. AND the Ash-throated Flycatcher pic was cool.

LEW_TEX - lucky you, baby bluebrds. I've only seen one BB in my life, and ir was on the drive way just for a moment.

adelbertcat - Your male Black-headed Grosbeak is a nice looker.

Mrs_Ed - congrats on the Lifer and your White-crowned sparrows sure are picturesque.

This has been a great thread with so many gorgeous birds and I am really enjoying the spring migration. I will be starting a new thread and will return soon with a link.

In the meantime here is a shot of a female Red-winged Blackbird...they are nesting in the field close to the farm pond.
