Yes, Dear, You sure can.
How are you feeling Charleen?
Earlier this week I was feeling pretty rough but it is warmer now and I am feeling good. But guess what Patti! I found another dang old tick on me this morning. I'm going to start taking Vit. B they say nothing will bite me if I do. It sure is better than risking Lyme disease, I'm still taking my meds to get rid of this one...Thank for asking Dear.
Ahh, such beautiful plants! Charlene- that yellow iris is exquisite!! I am very excited to be planting my first Brugs outside, that were rooted over the winter. I just hope I do it right. Do any of you put those water absorbent crystals in the planting hole? Someone told me I could just plant them in our NC red clay soil, but I would really think some amendment would be beneficial. Also, could someone please tell me the fertilizer numbers that brugs like. I can't find where I has filed that info. Oh, and am I remembering correctly that full sun is OK, or should they have afternoon shade? This NC Sun gets soooo hot.
Sheri

If you plan on digging them up in the fall, I have mine in large growing containers and will just pull them up this fall. I have them about 4-5 inches in ground. However deep I could dig. we live on a little hill so have plenty of rocks.
Do you mean you plant the container into the ground or just the plant. I'm such a newbie that my questions may seem silly. But I really want to know the best way to cae for these beautiful plants.
Thanks so much for any helpful tips!
You be careful Charleen. You can also take garlic tabs (or eat a lot of garlic) and they won't bite. Use to use garlic tablets on my dogs before all the new fancy Frontline and such came out. They probably still have them available for pets. They were chewable and made so the dogs would eat it. We were on 44 acres and they were always busy out hunting and such. You can also use Avon Skin So Soft. For some reason they don't like that either, and you smell good. ^_^
I'm not normal on that Avon, I think it stinks. Almost make me grit my teeth. Just something about it but I need to put some on Charley's face. time to get out the Fabric softener sheets and tie them to the halters. It helps with the insects/ I use them every summer.
I've never used the dryer sheets. I'd forgotten about that, I remember hearing it before. I put cattle insecticide eartags on their halters.
I used it aboput 6-7 years now. it helps. The donkeys look forward to me trying to keep flies off. Charley, now that's a different thing. He doesn't like Spray bottles so I have to use fabric sheets...Big Wimp!!♥
I used fabic sheets last year cuz u all told me too and they worked.
Char, ya gotta be careful of those ticks, they are sneeky..
Does any fabric sheet work or do you use a specific one?
I use the cheap ones. they love to roll, you know.
Boy do I !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol Babe was rolling out here in the backyard. She loved that tall cool grass.
I knew you knew what I was talking about. When Charley came up to be fed this afternoon, he must have just finished his dusting, cause the air was full of dust. so Funny.
Pretty iris. Your sister is a pretty lady.
I have clematis blooming, but never think to go take a pic of it.
Been working on repotting all my plants from last year. Whew.... what a job. They are in dire need of new potting mix. DH carried a bunch out for me a while ago. I've been potting up things that I received in trades too.
This is a pic of my shade/filtered light plant stand that DH made me several years ago.
crit that is so nice, lucky you to have a dh to do things like that.
Good evening everyone
Retta, you have a very pretty sister, I am so glad she's doing well, we had a hail storm earlier, now we have a thunder storm, I am so glad I really didn't want to water, me & my DD got the other place mowed, it looks so nice, it's a 1/4 acre
when the back yard has to be mowed it's 1/2 acre, so we will be getting a riding mower, I really think with all the work that
has to be done it will be September before we move
Elizabeth
