So you can't take old jewelry anymore to a jewelers and sell it, or have them make something else?
So far, since Jeff Jersey the car has gone 5100 miles and we spent $800 on gas. The highest we paid was $4.20. The lowest was $3.41. In the nat'l parks it was $5.20.
Money Matters - Part 6
Where was $3.41??
Texas.
They have the oil there!
it is 3.53 by work in attleboro and here it is 3.75??????????
It's back up to $3.97 here.
I paid $3.35 yesterday.
Had to go and get a new lawnmower battery this afternoon... gas was $3.29
I need to move!
Sam's Club had gas today @ $3.24. Filled up at that price.
Shopped for a cell phone lately?
DH was due for an upgrade/ replacement. A new smart phone would be either 700$, or 60 plus 18$ fee, or like one penny from Amazon when renewing contract with At &T and the 18 upgrade fee. The high quote came from an AT T guy over the phone, DH laughed and cut the conversation short and the guy even called him BACK to say he double checked the price, but still quoted 700 some dollars.
We're just baffled why AT T lets Amazon sell an AT T phone so cheap.
Crazy!
I am seeing the rising food prices being reflected in diners and restaurants.
and the economy reflected in closed restaurants...and more offering coupons
We are booming here, there's a list of new restaurants opening up including Texas Roadhouse...I can't wait
We're looking to hire a young kid for the summer sooooo busy!!!!!!
My kids are available.
TX Roadhouse is good.
Nephew in LA is on his way to you Jen--he coudln't find a job there. Sheesh, polite, cleancut, good looking, what the heck else do they want? Just not enough jobs.
Areas that are hurting are being super picky in who they hire and then use weird excuses why they didn't hire you
LA as in Los Angeles or Louisiana??
Oh Los Angeles- Irvine actually (sorry) And I shouldn't complain; Louisiana is probably tougher.
Called my local reputable jewelry store and they are still buying silver and gold. He said the change is to tighten up on commercial buyers, ( himself) not individuals.
Thanks for the info, Sally...I need to bring my old broken gold jewelry in to sell
Yes, thank you, Sally. That is on my list of things to do when I get home.
worth it to me- I took one thin crunched snake(?) necklace and a hunk of thicker gold broken necklace chain. One got 20 the other got me 50. Pleasantly surprised given the small size.
= ^)
Too much bother for what it's worth. Plating is microscopically thin.
oh so THATS why they recycle those. Office Depot gives a 3 dollar credit for each- every quarter they send you a store credit 'card'.
Jewelry needs to be marked or stamped in some way if it is at least 10 k right? Kind of ashamed of all the junk jewelry I have with 'yellow metal' !!
Yes jewelry sold in the US should be stamped 14k, 10k etc for gold and .925 for sterling silver
...and we thought 'Crime' didn't pay!
Ugh - more horrible jobs numbers. Canada had more new jobs in June with their little population.
Saw that, - very low numbers.
good new my qtrly results are in and after a tough qtr everything was flat - i'll take it for now
As I have been saying for over a year - the Euro crisis will just not die. On the plus side, I am hoping to visit Italy next year so maybe it will be cheaper with their problems!!
Been before victor?
Our elec co offers a plan wherein they install a remote on your AC and can then cycle different ones on and off by turns, and avoid getting high sudden peaks in usage on hot days like today. We get 18$ credit for each July Aug (Sept?) for this. Today was verry hot and we had no problem keeping cool enough.
They control your a/c????
Just opened a tube of Kids Crest, wish I noticed before I opened it.... "made in Mexico"
SERIOUSLY????????
No, never been there.
