You're on the meter when you sit down at a restaurant in the city, there's a little guy with a stopwatch in the kitchen timing you. - Someone told me that in London they have restaurants which actually do that! lol!
Money Matters - Part 6
In the south they use a calendar.
We always tip 20% unless service is REALLY bad.
Who the heck looks at a menu when just ordering basic ice cream, coffee and pie? Guess I learned my lesson!
15% and they have to earn it.
15% - 20%.
20%
22% if she's young & pretty and smiles at me.
do you include tip on drink?
I do, but we don't drink too much, ...at most we get 3 drinks, one for DW, the other two for myself and I.
$3.50 here in TX today. but the 108 degrees made up for it.!!!
Had one of THE best steak dinners tonight in San Angelo, TX. I had filet and DH had KC steak for 1 (16oz). He had a beer. Total tab $43
That's a good price, probably very good beef too!
It was excellent.
Gas prices have varied to $3.41 - $3.95-
Jeff is tryi g to keep track of mpg and it is averaging 24 mpg on a dodge caravan. We had two cedar chest in the back as well as some camping equipment. Haven't used it yet, cuz we have been finding motels at pretty reasonable rates. $43 twice, $73 tonight and one was $100. We will be doi g some camping along the way, but I draw the line when it is 108 degrees in the daytime. If momma ain't happy you know then nobody's happy. Heehee.
Yesterday we saw some of the cyclists that are in the Race Across America. Pretty amazing!
That's pretty good mph considering the load, motel rates seem reasonable too. 108° is too hot, I like mine medium rare, that would be 'well done'! lol! - Enjoy, and good to hear from you!
Continued safe journey ☺
Thank you. Made it to Los Vegas on our way to Death Valley tomorrow. Then up the east side of the Sierra Nevada mtns.
Awesome!
- I always gazed in awe at those mtns.
Maybe they just missed you?
I'm sure they just want you to come in so they can shake your hand and give you a free toaster.
I had to reorder checks the other day. Because I pay most of my bills online I don't have to write checks very often so I had forgotten how much they cost. Basically, they are charging me about 21 cents per check. It's just a piece of paper!!!! And a small piece of paper at that!
Spirit Airlines is charging $5 to print out your boarding pass at the airport, they want people to print out their own at home.
$9 for checks is pretty good. I think mine were $31 and I elected for free bulk rate shipping which means I should probably receive them by Labor Day. Probably.
GS, did you order yours from the bank???? Order from current only $7.99 a box for singles 12.99 for duplicates
http://www.currentcatalog.com/-Checks.html
Yes, I did order from my bank, but in the future I'll order from Current. I didn't even think to check (no pun intended) other options.
Isn't it fun, life with dominance of corporations over our daily lives?
I've been ordering from Current for years....at least 15
shipping was $9.99 for 2 boxes and 2 more items I ordered
Crazy market today! They announce this puny release of oil from the reserves and the price of crude goes plummeting, followed by the market. I had bought a small amount of an etf that shorts oil. Was up 7% on the day as of a few hours ago. Sold it.
My car was in the shop for 4 days!!!!!!!!!! for a intake gasket leak, transmission flush and fuel filter replacement and spark plugs...$1200!!!!! and they didn't even wash my car or fill up the gas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and they got grease on my floor mat(I made them clean it before I left)
Ouch.
That's 2 days longer than it should have taken.
can't believe that was all they did - did you get an estimate beforehand?
Hubby talked with them about the pricing
'99 Pontiac Firebird
and they had for it for 2 days, 2 weeks ago for another repair
It was at the dealer, so you know that's always more $. The first place I took it to, couldn't even find the problem
What do you make of this?

Sounds like regular people can't sell on Ebay anymore ??????
Nothing surprises me anymore.
I'm starting to think Zuckerberg is the only one who did NOT come up with the idea for FB!
