Here's where we discuss all matters financial. Lately, it's been mostly about the crazy gas prices, but feel free to talk about any other stuff - retirement, investments, etc.
Money Matters - Part 6
???
My doesn't the time fly!
My sister just got her motorcycle rating to use their Vespa. 80 mpg baby. I still don't think I could do that.
She said the motorcycle guys in the class mentioned getting loud tailpipes, not to show off, but to make themselves more obvious to car drivers. I never knew that.
3.89 here I will gulp when I see $4.
My DH has a pretty long communte in a F-150 and he is spending about $100.00 a week on gas. I suggested we trade vehicles and he use my corrolla. My commute is about 10 minutes. Gas has hit 4 dollars a gallon in NY!
I always liked the F-150's, and 250's. Too pricey at the pump now..
Just back from passport application process for all of us. $544!!! Now I can't afford to go anywhere. Crazy. More revenue for the gov.
I thought they were like 70 bucks each--??
$110 for adults. $80 for kids. $40 processing fee for everyone.
Price went up, I think I paid $60 for mine years ago..
holy moly!!!!
Do they put loud pipes on Vespas, too?
I saw a guy riding a scooter with the nazi helmet I have....he looked hysterical!

It is ridiculous!
- Agree, the US dollar is loosing it's value. Still some places where you can buy poultry at a reasonable price here, but they're becoming more and more scarce.
But the Fed Chairman says inflation is under control.
This is the worst Tsunami recorded. The video has gone viral

The only thing under control is the fed chairman himself. Under the control of someone's leash that is..
When we loose our standing as the world's reserve currency then he'll retire with all his millions and make speeches about what they should have done to avoid it way back when.. (and get paid 50k per speech to boot!)

That's for sure. Just like Greenspan.
Scary video, thanks.
Almost as scary as the us dollar...
Wow what a video!
Horrific as the Tsunami video was, I chose to watch that rather than US Standard of Living...
I can't imagine watching the water wash my own home and town away, then right to the foot of the very hill I was standing on..hoping it stopped short of me. I guess for today I won't feel too bad about buying gas to continue my uninterrupted comfy life.
To sleep too??
I believe in wearing them to bed because the husband might show up.
I can now go on to start my day with a good laugh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks
$4.29 per gallon, $4.39 if a debit or CC is used.
- they must be worn out by now, Victor.
Hope you're referring to the sneakers.
he he...
I drove to a park 20 mi away for a hike with the dog. And missed an exit, add 6 miles. That means I spent almost 8$ in gas for me 'free' park excursion. Thumbs down.
Our elec co has lowered its rates (inexplicably) thumbs up
We're holding @ 4.27- $4.29, (if paid in cash), at this rate we should be at $4.50 by Memorial Day.
Maybe not. Commodities are shaky right now. We may be in for something ugly again.
I saw 3.79 @Exxon but they are usually more expensive than others
we have a new station "Quest" that is undercutting its neighbors by a few cents.
But lets think of what really matters. My L'Oreal Preference Light Golden Coppery Brown is now 6.29 a bottle...of course
I'm Worth It
opinions, opinions...
Even the 'no name' gas stations are charging the same here...
