You may bring one non-DG guest. Please communicate with me if there is a reason for anyone else to join your group. We reserve the right to have/not have other outside friends and relatives attend.
Plant swaps are being conducted on the June RU and White Elephant Swap thread. There is no garden gift that goes unappreciated by a fellow gardener and none to small to share. It's a good way to clean out your garden closet.
The gathering will include a bagels, muffins and coffee greeteing for arrivals before 12:p.m. and a pot luck luncheon afterwards. We are providing grilled kosher hot dogs, fixings, a variety of sandwiches, goodies from the garden, etc. for lunch. We are requesting help with side dishes and desserts. If you plan to come let me know by DMail ASAP.
Please restrict plant swap information to the other thread, "June RU and White Elephant Swap" and keep this one from getting too clogged.
Our location is within seven miles of downtown Cleveland, GA.. We will provide a map and directions to the final RSVP list right before the RU. We will provide information on motel accommodations if requested. There are several budget friendly options. The area and time are beautiful for weekending. If I hear from singles desiring to share space I will connect you for room sharing.
If you are new to DG or RUing and have questions, please ask. Don't be shy. Some of us have met at past RUs, some of us have never met but became posting friends over the years here at DG.
*This is a reminder to bring sunscreen, a hat and a folding camp chair if you can spare one.

I will be there with a guest, my DIL Sandy, who has attended other RU's with me, and is a perfect guest with lots of nice plants to trade. She just does not have the Internet!-

Hot dog! Count me in on this one. May be bringing a non-DG friend but not sure. Lunch for sure, brunch maybe. Still don't have anything worthwhile to swap but will bring something, even if it's store-boughten. White elephant gifts are fun. Definitely in on that one. Can't wait to see Laurel's place.

I have been told that a great number of class mates have passed away.From the list, most of the ones that worked for RJ Reynolds tobacco Co. haved died.That was the place most of them tried to get employment, I didn't, I never found the time to get a frontal labotomy, so I never qualified. I'll not know for a few days, Mike. It's not unusual that we hike up to the house and retrieve the chain saw to cut our way in. Don't know if you remember the photos and posts but we got a tree through the roof three years ago Mother's Day that took a year and a half to clean up and repair damage. The kicker was the year before we had the same thing happen in Atlanta and had just finished construction there. When you come into the property you can see lots of trees down on the right side of the mountain. That's from the tornadoes that hit the area August '05.

I would love to stop and meet some of you...I was going to Dmail Eufula anyhow...as I used to go to Rock Eagle for 4-H Leaders meetings and hosted a girl from her town when she visited us in Va Beach.
My DS and DIL will be bringing me and leaving Crossville, TN...would it be better for us to drive on the left side of Atlanta to get on the road to Agusta...or just take I-75 through Atlanta until we meet I-40...or is it 20??

Hey all, If at all possible I would love to join you. It will depend on what is going on with our temp move to Alexander City, Alabama in June. I have been wanting to meet several of you for quite a while now!! And already have meet Brenda B and her DIL.
I donot want to recieve any plants though as I will have no place to put them, But I will bring plants to share if that is ok?

Re-posting this as there was a bit of confusion. Goober ( who is a ten year old girl and not a dog!!,,,,lol ) and I will be at the RU IF we can work out all the travel details. We are in the process of trying to go on Vacation and then moving on the day we return.
As stated before,, since I am moving we will not want any plants,, welll,, unless there are hostas for Goober,,,heehee. Goober is a hostas fiend!! And thanks to Brenda and others she has a very pretty miniture and small hosta collection started! I will try to update her list of hostas before we move. They will all be staying with her.

Yes, thank you for clarifying, Mud_Elf. Our Goober is a dog and our Pepper does not get along with other dogs, thus the note (and I did respond immediately).
In the meantime, I am out of town and would be without an internet connection if it were not for us having to check in to a hotel a short while ago while the house is being tented and gassed for one type of termites today and tomorrow. They will also be drilling the foundation to fumigate for a second type of termites.That's enough confusion and stress on this end for right now.

Not a problem Laurel, It did throw me at first,, I did not realize you we thinking she was a dog...lol Could not understand why she would not be welcome. She is going to the Virginia RU in 2 weeks and then back here. We are hoping to make it up to your RU we really want to meet Digger in person!! And everyone else too.
