why is it... that I can make red velvet cake.. which is like doing a science experiment.. but hard boil eggs.. I always screw up.. LOL

bring to a boil... cover .. remove from heat.. wait 15 mins.. and cold shock em... todays just exploded all over... and I have to cook them longer... what's the deal????

Thomaston, CT

Allison, I bring mine to a boil, & let them boil gently....very gently....for 20 min. Then I rinse them in cold water several times, & put them in fridge....never had a problem.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

it is one of those things that make me nuts... i either over or under cook em.. give me the real hard to grow seeds.. I can do it.. easy ones.. I kill... same theory

:)

now you know the ones I am cooking again.. are going to be rubber.. LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

someone was nice to me.. they were perfect... as for the exploded one.. I cleaned up the shells.. nuked it.. and the dogs loved it.. LOL

someday I will get it right .. thank god eggs are cheap

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

These are perfect every time and no greenish yolks...EVER

Put egg in cold water put on high heat bring to boil, shut off heat, but leave it on the burner, cover, 10 mins to a perfect hard boiled egg

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I did that and 15 mins.. and it exploded... maybe it's the electric stove

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I have electric
Maybe it was just a bad egg

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

don't know

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Must have been an explosive egg, Jen's recipe is what I do when I want it perfect for company. For me I just boil it 10 min.. lol!
- Chinese tonight, (late & hurried meal..), pan fried dumplings and vegetable fried rice with the little fortune cookie and a pork egg roll which was more cabbage than meat because they're cutting back. Ugh!
