I still have not put away the snow shovel!
April foodies
potroast in the crock pot. It's yucky rain today!
I keep the snow shovels in the garage all year! Pot roast sounds great!
It was! I haven't put our shovel away either.
I keep my snow shovel ready until October.
I had pot roast cooking in slow cooker today too for my kids and in laws while we went to my Aunt's internment and then to dinner with cousins and my last aunt and uncle, that I haven't seen in many years
Had a NY strip steak with a blue cheese crumble and mushrooms
Tough day for you, Jen. I have only an aunt by marriage left.....meatloaf tonight.....
I decided to open a restaurant that only serves high-calorie, high-fat, high-gluten, high-peanut butter, high-trans-fatty-acid, high-salt, high-sugar, high-artificial color foods. Anyone in???
yep...don't forget bacon....and pancakes.
and my Taylor Ham!!!
We had Tacos last night, chilli w/corn bread for lunch and dark chocolate cake
w/P.-butter frosting.
Today...I think a garden salad, steamed brocc. and grilled T-Bones.
we have to go refill our tank for the grill... got cranky yesterday when I realized it was dead
:(
Got invited to the neighbors house last night for real Mexican food! YUM! Had a condiment sauce made of tomatillos and a grilled, dried beef that I have forgotten the name of already - also yummy. And there was my very favorite - carne asada - double yum. They also made grilled chicken that I didn't think was very spicy hot but one of their children did! (Go figure!) For dessert, Marcella made what little Nicole calls "Leche con Ballitas" (rice with little balls) and us big folks call Leche con Arroz. It is white rice and milk with cinnamon and maybe some sugar - I love it. I am so fortunate to have good neighbors! Not only does their pit bull, Wanda scare off burglars, they put the roof on my house and even with all the snow and rain this winter, it didn't leak one drop!
Anyone know of an on-line Spanish class? I really need to learn a lot more Spanish!
Went to the Maple Tree restaurant yesterday, they open in Feb and today is their last day. Had scrambled eggs, sausage and all you can eat buckwheat pancakes with their own maple syrup. We ate around 3pm.

Reading that reminded me that we have not seen Ric on here in quite some time. Is he okay??
Ya know now that you mention it....Holly has been posting over on the MA forum but have not heard from Ric personally I know he built Holly this..... http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=8469871
recently and they are working on another project so they just may be super busy...
Very nice bench! They're both super nice and high on my list of people I look forward to meeting at some point.
They are some of the sweetest people I've met from DG
The birthday boy asked for chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, I added coconut balls and chocolate ganache.
nice!!!
Wow....I'm not a cake eater....well,, sometimes, but that would tempt me, Debi. I have a friend coming for lunch next week....she's an ex-home ec teacher....I always get nervous when I cook for her, have no idea what to make, of course!
Ditto to what Jen said.
Leftover ham, sweet potatoes and fresh asparagus.
I locked myself out of the house, so had to wait til DH got home from school. Of course, Tuesday is a day he stays late. I was able to stay with the grandykids, so it was all good.
pretzel crusted chicken tonight.. was pretty crunchy and good
Fajitas
Could not wait for Easter so I went to my brothers house (he likes to cook too) and he & I made a early easter dinner. It was nice to cook with him again....he used to be a chef:)
Baked honey ham, baked sweet taters w/ cinn. , nutmeg and butter, roasted red skin baby taters, pineapple, fresh steamed string beans w/garlic and a loaf of rye bread. No dessert...no room.

Gee, everyone had a real feast yesterday....sorry about the lockout, Jan! I do keep a spare key hidden for that very reason. Tonight, pasta & meatballs.
Jan, good thing you had a place to go and weren't stuck out in the rain
Celeste, sounds YUMMY
One of the "latest trends" in food seems to be a variation on fried (or baked) chicken, using Cap'n Crunch cereal, or some other variant as the outside shell.
Anyone tried it?
Any good results?
For breakfast or dinner??
I had leftover breaded (traditional) chicken for breakfast this morning
