Pretty day. Clear and 38.
Supposed to get to 57 today. I plan on going to Wednesdays at Winterthur this morning. First time for me. Guided walks - today winterhazels will be featured. Looking forward to it. I got a membership for a year especially to take grandykids to the kids' garden area. Enchanted Garden. I love it there.
Nice - enjoy!
40° with a West wind at 9 mph, windchill is 35° and it's mostly cloudy out here.
Clouds & winds increasing today, our high should be 52°. Rain for tonight, going down to 38°.
Thanks, I plan on it. :)
Hey Jan maybe 1 Wednesday I can hook up with you and go...
Sunny and cool high of 57° expected, they say rain later :(
Only 40 here right now, but heading to mid fifties.....Victor, ask your friend in PR how much the AC bill is! John, have a great trip to FL, & Jan, enjoy those winter hazels. Have some appts, will not get into yardwork until late this afternoon.....
Now I can hear the wind--much nicer without it.
50 and cloudy.
In the 50's, I'm glad I took a headband to wear over my ears as we wlked around at Winterthur. I wore layers and took the outer fleecy jacket off leaving a fleecy vest and a light turtleneck. Plenty warm as we walked, especially if we popped out into the sunshine.
The pale yellow colors of the winterhazels were paired nicely with Korean Rhododendron (R mucronulatum) There also were hellebores paired with Rose Corydalis (C bulbosa) They didn't have forsythia with the Korean rhodies cuz Mr. DuPont thought those colors clashed.
The C. platypetala and C pauciflora were V-shaped shrubs while the C spicata was more horizontal. Very nice display of them. There were lots of huge carpets of Chinodoxa bucilliae, G of the Snow with Scilla sibirica and S bifolia. Beautiful blues! Jen ,you and everyone else who likes blue would love them. So glad I went. Then I meandered around on my own and hopped on one of the trams and the driver was very pleasant and a wealth of knowledge. There were only 3 of us on the tram so he really got into his explanations. Afterwards I had a bowl of one of the best mushroom soups I've ever had. It was a very pleasant day.
You need to get yourself a digital camera!!!!
Yes,I would have loved to have seen the blues! By the time I got home from dog walking, it was too windy to rake....only out for about 20 min. Showers moving in now....
It's getting cold and a steady drizzle is falling. This afternoon was lovely outside. More rain for the May flowers I guess.
Jan glad you had a good time. We've gone on 2 swamp tours in New Orleans where it was just the tour guide and DH and I on the tour. Very nice to get the extra attention.
Sounds like a grand tour.
39 now.. going to 54.. more rain today
42°, wind from the Northeast at 9 mph, light rain
Going up to 50° today, cloudy with showers in the am. Dropping down to 34° tonight.

Raining. 0.2 inch so far. 39 and yucky.
Cloudy breezy any rain is supposed to stop by this afternoon 44° right now

37 at the moment, but sun is trying to peek through.....warmer weather for next week!
A year ago today we hit 90!!
I'm glad that we are not that hot this year. 39° & sunny. DH is out weeding, he works better in this temp than I do.
Ya last year this time we were at Disney and our biz partner was swamped with calls....hee hee
Not 2 earthquakes but 3 today. Jim said the other day. It seems everytime they send up a rocket in space it happens. He also said I wish someone would take and look into it.
Edit
Now they changed it to an after shock. Well we still had 1 earthquake in Mexico.

43 and cloudy. I would like to see the sun.
They have always happened and always will, Sherrie. Nothing at all to do with rockets - rocks (moving)!
48 and sunny here, I should go back outside
Perfect outdoor working temps today! Hope it continues for a few days until I get the lawn raked.....
Was nasty until later in the afternoon.
