Used Coffee Grounds as a Plant Fertilizer?

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

I want to start growing my own vanilla beans or is it pods? Is the plant the Vanilla Planiflia ,or the Vanilla Orchid? Some say they take 8 years to get the pods others say 3 years. Can any one help me to find the one I need ,and where to buy this plant? I was some on line for 99.00 I don't want to spend the money and get the wrong plant. Oh and I live in Delaware so for the winter will it grow in my house,or will it make it thru our winters. So many questions .
Thank you so much
