DAILY BIRD PICTURES, VOLUME 388

Norman, OK

I didn't see the bluebirds anymore yesterday after the hawk chased them. I saw him catch a blackbird out of a flock this morning. Too far away or I would have tried to get a pic.

Saw some gadwall and mallards on the ponds this a.m. and got a peek of the owlet down on the creek. The crows were harassing him, as usual.

Got another egg this a.m. Wish I could share my diary, but the admn took down my post about it. I never thought it would be against the rules here. Oh well.

Is anyone else having trouble posting to this forum, I go to post a picture and it won't let me, I have to wait for awhile and try again.

Adel, great shot of your Spotted Towhee.

Red, that hawk is beautiful. You did a great job with that low light.

Lily, your cardinal is beautiful in the blooms. I think Lord Byron should be called "King", he's so beautiful. Of course, Mitch is beautiful too! Love the wps!

Elphaba, congrats on the red egret and cormorant-great time to snap a photo!!

Red, congrats on the new egg. I'm ready to see the chicks!

Found this resting Mourning Dove a couple days ago. A quail was trying to get it to move on, but it refused.

Here's a handsome House Finch watching over the others at the seed feeder.

Duc, your Housefinch sure is handsome. Okay I'll see about get the Byron name changed officially. lol. Go M. Dove! It's so amazing to watch bird's instinct to protect their youngs. My Nuthatch was ready to stand up to a Blue Bird at the homefront today as I watched. Amazing!

I can't post any pics, is anyone else having the same trouble? If you have any suggestions on why I can't I would appreciate them.

This is a test. This is only a test of the potential picture posting problems of the daily bird pics post. Pair of finches.

Teddy, maybe your file is just really big. If you crop the picture or reduce the file size, it may work better. If I have a large picture, I can still post it but it takes a long time for the site to convert it to a smaller file.

Had a male and female hummer. They are all just passing through though and heading north fast. I was wondering if this flag iris would attract them since it glows when you try to photograph it and hummers are supposed to see ultraviolet light. Sure enough!

Elphaba, great photos of your finches and glad you got to see the hummers. Hope they stay with you for a while.
